Pasta was delicious. Wine can be a little expensive.
Absolutely loved Gersi! The food was terrific and the atmosphere was lovely. We sat at the bar but also saw that the back garden looked darling. Will return any time I'm in the neighborhood!
The best neighborhood restaurant to go to for any occasion! Love all their staples and the specials are always super fresh & delicious, too.
Sat outside in their beautiful garden. Great food, great ambience, and kid friendly. Awesome!
I was only there for dinner so that’s would I recommend. Host was excellent at his connections with patrons but waiter was a little non-present. Food was excellent!
Wonderful dinner, affordable prices, fantastic service and a fun Italian country chic ambiance. Went here for a Friday date night and would hands down go back again. Just remember to bring cash as they are cash-only!
We love the food here and everything is always well done - the portions are extremely generous - only drawback is that they now only take cash (which we didn't know until we arrived because we had been here before and they did take credit cards). Otherwise terrific
Lori, Thanks for the review. We are glad you enjoyed everything. See you soon. Gersi
Overall, lovely evening. Took a while for our waitress to notice us after being seated, even though we had a reservation, but the service was pleasant. Food was delicious - from the cacio e pepe to the Branzino. Kale salad was a bit tough, but watermelon radish salad - divine. A very cozy mom & pop neighborhood vibe. Would definitely come back.
My major complaint was the size of my fish entree!
I ordered the sea bass and for the price the serving( fish) was so small and charred that I did a double take
As usual the favor profile was on point!
Gersi has some of the best, freshest Italian food in South Brooklyn. Their pastas and salads are delicious and well prepared. Service was on point and friendly. I'll definitely return.
Great food and service and very nice back garden
Gersi has amazing food, ambience, and service. We have been here a few times and keep coming back. So many good specials to complement an already excellent menu.
Gersi continues to amaze me. Every time my wife and I sit down to eat here, the pasta seems better than the last.
Keep doing what you’re doing Gersi! Your price, serving size and food bests some of the “best” Italian restaurants in the city.
Neighborhood casual Italian with fair prices. There’s outside patio seating as an option. Beet salad with goat cheese with Arugula is always very good. There is a special often offered as a main course, pork Parmesan, essentially Milanese style, that’s very good. It makes perfect sense to use pork cutlets instead of dried out chicken breast, or expensive veal cutlets for such a dish. Drinks are well made and service is always pleasant and gracious. Gersi is definitely one of the best in the area for a satisfying meal.
The place is a one of a kind, amazing -- and never disappoints. Wonderful ambiance and consistently stellar dishes!
Great local spot, food always fresh, delicious. Chicken Parm and bruschetta always a fav. Ginger margarita a must :)
Always a great meal at Gersi. Stop reading reviews, you should be there eating. Really.
Great food, service and ambiance. I especially enjoyed sitting in the restaurant's backyard.
I've been to Gersi about 4 times. I do not recall the tables being placed so close together as they were this time. We were at an indoor table for 2 and our table was no more than 1 inch away from the one to my right. They had a simple pasta with vegetables special for about $24.
Soon after experiencing the crowded tables, noise level, and pricing I commented to my friend that "the restaurant thinks it's in Manhattan." They need to reduce table density.
Our waitress was good but the overall service was bland. I hate when one course is brought to the table before the previous one is bussed. Their busboys need to be trained on how to clear and pour water without placing their arm across your face.
I ordered a glass of the Nero D'avola which turned out to be too weak to accompany my Sicilian salad :(
We hate a taste for Chicken Parmesan. It’s on their take-out menu, but not on the restaurant menu. No problem; the courteous staff gladly arranged for us to have it served. The special soup that night was Gaspacho that I had and it was delicious with just the right amount of vegetables and chunky cool consistency. The place can tend to get a lot of little kids and even babies during earlier seatings, so if you don’t like romper room dining, book for later or it can get distractingly noisy. The outside back garden can be a quiet respite if seated along the perimeter area. The quaint zinc bar also has seating for eating as an option that’s a very nice option choice especially if you happen to be on your own.
We really enjoy Gersi. Everyone working there goes out of their way to accommodate guests. The food is really delicious, and the best part is that it’s consistent.
Chicken Parm, excellence
Too loud!!! Service was slow, food was good.
Delicious. Comfortable, friendly place. Loved it. Chicken parm was huge, beat ravioli creamy and devine. Watermelon margarita so refreshing. Looking forward to a return visit.
Came here with my family for Mother’s Day brunch. Food and drinks were excellent and seasonal. Among our choices were the burrata, ramp crostino, kale gnocchi, and orecchiette with broccoli rabe and sausage. Saw several other things we wanted to try, so will definitely be back.
Beautiful enclosed backyard. Good food! Nice neighborhood spot.
Great service and food. Accommodated a large reservation to celebrate a birthday.
This was our second time at Gersi and it does not disappoint. Amazing food and service.
Way too noisy. Table next to us was drunk and loud and had visitors come over and crowd our space. Staff didn’t notice. Ruined our meal. Would not come here on a weekend. But the food was outstanding.
I celebrated my sons communion their with 14 people. It was simply outstanding, every dish was better then the next and the service was great.
I love Gersi so much! It’s always the first place I bring out of town guests, or for a celebration. It never disappoints!
Gersi offers very fresh and delicious food - excellent pastas and entrees and seasonal appetizers. Very good service and a fine wine list.
Love this place, food is delicious and the environment and service are great!
Delicious food, great service, lovely back patio. I will definitely be back
Great food. Friendly staff. Patient with families.
We had a birthday dinner at Gersi in a Friday evening. The restaurant was all set up for our reservation and the staff was very helpful and kind to our party’. The food was spectacular and we will absolutely be back for future special dinner reservations. Thank you!
Great neighborhood Italian restaurant with a good menu selection and tasty food.
we always love gersi. the food is delicious. neighborhood gem!
I took a friend in town from South Carolina and we were both blown away by our meals. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. I recommend sharing the kale Caesar salad and then getting your own entree. The wine list was extensive and affordable. I’ll definitely be coming back.
We had an exceptional meal here. Cozy vibe and very delicious. Everything tasted very fresh...we all loved it!
