Our promise is the same whatever the occasion: quality, delicious affordable Italian food. We serve well-known classic and original Italian dishes with a special emphasis on seasonal dishes. We happily cater for a wide variety of dietary requirements and dietary lifestyle choices. The exclusively Italian wine list has something for every budget with a focus on value and quality. We carefully select all of our wine from small independent wineries.
The kitchen is open so you can witness the chefs cooking in real time and chat with the chef (when he isn’t too busy!). When the opportunity arises Gigi will not let his customers leave without saying good
Such a lovely looking restaurant but let down by the tiny, over-priced portions, served luke warm. This was our fourth visit and each time we’ve said ‘never again’ - but this time, really never again, sorry.
Our third visit to Gigi's and the best yet. We took some friend who were visiting us from London and they loved it too. Although it was a quiet Sunday night there was a comfortable and cosy atmosphere. We were very well looked after by the staff, particularly the waiter who I think was called Roberto. He helped with menu choices and recommended a Sicilian fter dinner drink - really enhanced our experience. Now we are looking for and excuse to return agin. Thank you.
Fantastic food, well cooked, and well served. Staff efficient, polite and very welcoming. We had s great night.
Shown to table right away and asked if we wanted drinks. Ordered starters and main course - all absolutely lovely!!. Tagliatelle was slightly Al dente, just as it should be, and my Milanese with spaghetti was enormous and very tasty. My husband is coeliac, and was catered for with no fuss. Fantastic service throughout and friendly, knowledgeable staff. Will definitely recommend and return.
A slightly disappointing set menu - some of our party didn’t want 3 courses
Was celebrating a birthday and Gigis was perfect for it. Great atmosphere with amazing staff. Food was best ever had from restaurant, I had the steak. Hidden location, would recommend to everyone
We have been to Gigi’s a few times and always had a great night but unfortunately the food was dreadful this time. The asparagus starter from the specials was so over cooked it was stringy the plate had water on and then there was just some grated cheese over it. The red snapper main was so bland and full of bones. Such a disappointing meal. The atmosphere was great but everything else was very poor.
As always a lovely evening at Gigis. Great food and service.
Lovely romantic night . Staff were attentive. Set menu food nice .
Lovely venue. Attentive and pleasant waiter. Starters were great. Pizzas were average. Pasta looked far better. Huge portions! Puddings good, though tiramisu was somewhat dumped onto plates! Limited ice cream choice. They very kindly sang happy birthday to my daughter!
Gigi’s had a lovely atmosphere and was reasonably priced but without a doubt it was the BLANDEST meal I’ve ever had. We ordered the vegetarian pasta with artichokes etc - it was essentially plain, undercooked pasta with plain vegetables. The Italian sausage pizza was tasteless too. It’s such a shame that the food let the atmosphere, staff etc down
We had high expectations given that we had been recommended however we didn't find it friendly, the service felt rushed. We just felt as if the aim was to get us fed & out as quickly as possible, not relaxing. Whilst some of the food was good my own choices were not. The mushroom starter was so basic & very small compared to my daughter's calamari, which was actually very nice & a good portion. Again my daughter & husband enjoyed their mains whilst I was disappointed with the seafood linguine, which felt very greasy & oily and lacked the quantity of seafood my husband's similar dish contained. We didn't bother with coffee or deserts & left underwhelmed.
Very disappointed. Unfortunately pork was served although it was patently totally under cooked and inedible. They did offer an alternative but when the others in the party were half way through a meal it was not really applicable plus lost confidence as if they thought the pork was acceptable to serve although it was verging on raw then wasn’t the
We had a lovely family meal to celebrate a birthday. Two adults, two kids, Mums birthday. I had casually mentioned on the booking form that it was a birthday celebration. We had a great meal, authentic Italian food. Really nice. It was a quiet evening, being a Sunday. We chose some deserts, and after serving my young son with his huge dish of profiteroles, we had a lovely surprise. The lady who had been serving our table came over with a special profiterole with a candle, singing happy birthday! We all joined in. Such a lovely gesture!
And as we left, the same lady asked us to wait a second, dashed over to the other side of the beautiful restaurant, and came back with a box of Italian cakes as a gift. Brilliant service.
The restaurant is such a cosy, atmospheric place. Great music playing, the vibe is lovely. Great decor too. I really recommend this lovely place.
Thanks for such a lovely evening!
Amazing food and service. Was so happy to come across an Italian restaurant with gluten free options!
After changing the time of our booking to accommodate the restaurant we did have to wait about 10 minutes before being seated. We were given a free bottle of wine [of our choosing] for agreeing to change the booking which was a nice gesture. My risotto was a bit bland and didn’t look very appealing. It resembled scrambled egg. I would not choose it again. My husband had tagliatelle which he said was superb. Mum had sirloin steak. She had requested medium but it was more medium rare. She did ask for it to be cooked some more but unfortunately it was then a little tough. The staff were very apologetic & did offer her something else. The vegetables were plenty and hot. Cheesecake and cheese board for dessert were very nice.
Overall, a pleasant evening was had with a nice atmosphere.
Superb food at a lovely small restaurant. Wasn’t expecting it to be so nice! Was a little noisy, but wouldn’t let that put me off. Will certainly be going again
We have had a lovely meal. Even though it’s more expensive than other places you are guaranteed fantastic food, service and the restaurant is just beautiful!! Can’t recommend it enough!!
We didn’t enjoy our meal, all very basic, I think I’ve had better pasta out of a jar at home.
Great food great service... very romantic!
Both the food and drinks were delicious
All the food was tasty and the wine options were good.
Friendly and efficient service, nice atmosphere and delicious reasonably priced food
I, with my family, had an evening meal. We totally enjoyed the meal, the ambience, and good rapport with the staff. The head waiter explained the dishes in detail, including the specials for the evening. The wine was extremely good quality. Altogether, we had a most enjoyable evening, and will be revisiting again.
Great time had by all. Will recommend this venue to friends and family.
Lovely, cosy atmosphere, great authentic Italian food & friendly, welcoming staff
Went with my husband for our Anniversary, food was fantastic portion size very generous! Amazing tiramisu for desert. Would highly recommend, nice feel about the place. Only slight negative is that it was quite noisy but this didn’t detract from an overall very enjoyable evening.
We took a party of 6 to Gigi’s. The food was excellent as was the service. Thoroughly recommended and we hope to be back.
We made a last minute booking on Saturday night after a booking mess up with another local eating place.
We were pleasantly greeted on arrival by the owner, a Lovely restaurant with great food and very attentive service, the wine is not overpriced & extremely top quality.
Will definitely return.
Don’t be put off by the bad report earlier in these reviews .
Great food and service - Very authentic italian with extremely helpful staff - a very relaxed and enjoyable evening - thanks.
Very disappointing! Scallops so tiny and in watery sauce, Halibut was very watery and tasteless, vegetables not cooked properly hard and bland. Possibly microwaved! Salmon was swimming in cream not a proper sauce. Lemon cheesecake did not taste of lemon. Again was very creamy! Would not go again.
Lovely staff, food and atmosphere. Will definitely be back!
The restaurant has a nice ambience, subtle lighting and very rustic interior.
Ordered what we thought was a garlic bread, turned out to be more chunky bruchetta, dry in the middle and overfilling.
We had one calamari and one dolcelatte mushrooms, ok but nothing special.
we ordered two sea bass in the sambuca sauce. the sauce overpowered the fish, too much sauce and too sweet.
Friendly staff, but not a great meal for us.
We booked for a family meal to celebrate my wife's birthday. Warm welcome and great service. Tasty food. Happy to recommend. Could perhaps do with something to reduce the loud echos from noisier guests.
The restaurant was recommended by friends & more than lived up to expectations. The welcome was friendly, the service prompt & attentive and the food, of which there was a great deal of choice, absolutely excellent: it was prepared, cooked and served to a very high standard. This is a quality restaurant in the suburbs, with a lovely ambiance, ideal for couples, or family and friends wanting to spend a night out in conversation without being spoiled by loud music or sports TV! We will tell our friends and will definitely be coming back.
The setting and the ambience of this resteraunt is perfect. Unfortunately this is all I have to say that is positive.
The food was served with little care and attention.
I ordered the seafood linguine medley which came with two tiny mussels and two prawns. The linguine has clearly been reheated cooked and kept as it was flavourless and luke warm.
The staff were inattentive and vergibginv on arrogance. We felt we were in the way rather welcome guest.
The whole experience need rethinking in this establishment and focus on food and service. I’m sorry but I would not reccomend this to a friend and would be very disappointed to take colleagues or loved ones. Sorry.
Really cute Italian restaurant. The setting is lovely, staff very friendly and food was delicious. On top of that the bill was really cheap, so overall we had a very good evening! a great place to eat!
From the warmth of the welcome onwards - the perfect evening with great food
Probably my favourite restaurant in Sheffield
This is a smart little restaurant and the food was excellent. However I feel it necessary to mention that the seating was uncomfortable, the staff whilst professional were not engaging , not even a smile, leading to a feeling of being made to feel unwelcome. The atmosphere in general was poor, the music which was on initially was turned off whilst staff cleaned around uses if to say ' can you go now ' Both myself and my partner have formed the opinion we would not want to eat here again. A pity as it spoiled what could have been a very enjoyable experience with just a little more effort.
Absolutely fantastic. The food was wonderful, the atmosphere brilliant and staff delightful. A perfect venue with excellent Gavi de Gavi served chilled to perfection.
It was so lovely to go to a restaurant and know that anything you order will be great - such a rarity these days. The staff were lovely and Chef very friendly. I will look forward to returning!
