Cheesy Yorkshire Pudding
Deano's bacon jam
Resturant was quite empty and even though, the food took almost 1 hour to arrive.
Went for a day out in London and the evening at Gillrays was the perfect end to an excellent day
For the money we paid, the steak wasn’t amazing. It was overcooked. We waited 10 minutes at the table before menus were given to us and then we had to ask for them. We also had to ask to get a drink as we weren’t asked that either. The view was lovely but other than that we were quite disappointed.
Unfortunately the toast was brought with a hair in it although it was swapper right away.
The one pan breakfast was nice however it was barely warm.
The service was professional and formal but you wouldn’t call it warm and friendly.
Ok I guess but when I’m paying over £50 for breakfast for two I expect better.
Steak cooked to perfection with lovely wine. Really enjoyed the vibe in this place.. staff were extremely friends will definitely return.
Nice food and amazing location, I felt the decor was very dated and atmosphere a bit dull , for such a great location and view / location the restaurant ambiance was very dated and a bit dull , Windows very dirty no music and very brightly lit which made it feel a bit like being in a cafe. Food was good but very pricey for portion sizes and presentation . Staff were very friendly and welcoming . Could be an amazing place with a few changes .
I booked the table and I stipulated it was for a birthday
We arrived and my booking reference wasn’t even taken
The head waitress was cold and un inviting
The restaurant was dirty tables sticky mirrors filthy
Menu was limited and ridiculously over priced
A fillet steak was ordered and this came with NOTHING no garnish and had to order chips at £5 to go with this
Staff were standing around laughing and talking with each other and polishing cutlery etc in the middle of service even carrying boxes of milk through the restaurant A definite no no. This should have all been completed prior to service.
A dirty un kept restaurant with wires hanging down in a bad state of repair
Staff hugging each other etc etc.
A very poor show indeed. Not worthy of a 2 star experience
Don’t come here and expect good food and service as you definitely will not receive it
Covid rules not adhered to.
So very disappointed
Service was no where near what I expected for this level of resteraunt.
Food; starter was superb, steak was mediocre to poor again notexpected for this restaurant.
We only has breakfast but it was cold and tasty like like it was leftovers from the night before the service was not very good and we all felt like we were being rushed
Service was really slow when they could see we had finished and needed the Bill but the food was great
Nice food.good service. Just a shame the wine had a 240% mark up on retail. I know they have to make a profit but £58 for a £16 bottle of wine is a bit much.
The service is outstanding. Views over the river and beautiful surroundings. Steaks were the best I have tasted fir a long time. Highly recommended.
Great experience, amazing views of London. Very good service.
The reason I chose this restaurant was because it apparently offers a £15 steak and fries. We were offered two menus (after asking), neither of which offered the deal . The same deal that is emblazoned across the window of the bar!
The medium rare steak was over done. The brie desert was tired.
The bill came to just under£100.
amazing time great food great service top barman will definitely be back
Food only warm service good plates felt like eating from a dig bowl
Wouldn't go again, was over priced and extremely cold, staff were 100% polite but didn't have that restaurant feel. Never visit again, food was served on a steel plate type something I'd use to feed my dog, yet charged 40£ for a steak. G&T £25 + £3.95 (DOUBLE) well over priced you could get a bottle for that price.
Really good service, food was fantastic and we are glad we booked
Afternoon Tea with free flowing gin and tonic. Absolutely fabulous!
Central London prices, hotel restaurant food. Great location with Thameside views.
Over priced average food .
Basic food with no sauce or veg on offer .
Would never pay £45 for 10oz ribeye steak based on the level of food we were served .
Everything is extra , we dont mind paying for high end food but this place is toby carvey at best .
Two portions of cold steaks, cold sauce all served on a cold plate. Serving staff were pleasent and apologetic and offered replacements, but I decided to skip and try somewhere else. My wife finished hers as she was hungry. To their credit they didn't bill for her steak even though she finished it. They did charge for an extra beer which I didn't notice until afterwards.
We had breakfast there twice during our stay. On both days the food and service were excellent. Monday morning was quieter than Tuesday but the experience on both days was excellent
The food was very nice and tasty.. how ever the steak could have been warmer as the chips were red hot
Excellent restaurant, location and ambience perfect, probably much quieter due to covid, food superb. Overall can't fault it.
Plates would have been nice. Warm china plates, perhaps with the hotel logo proudly displayed. Sadly the steak was served on a metal (?) dish, which did not retain heat. The steak was therefore cold before it was finished. The side dishes were served on white enamel/blue piping camping dishes, so popular in pubs. These did not retain warmth either.
After our meal, we requested somewhere quiet to sit and enjoy our wine, and were ushered back to the bar, to sit 'wherever we liked'. Luckily, we got a padded settee, but the bar was not all that quiet, as might be expected. Upon leaving, we passed by two peaceful areas, with oh so comfy seating, perfect for peaceful, after dinner contemplations.
Buckets of crayons are provided for the children. Not a promising sign.
We visited this restaurant about 4 years ago and it was outstanding so re booked, unfortunately we were disappointed attention to detail wasn’t as good and the level of service has dropped. When we visited before we felt special and nothing was to much trouble this time was the opposite we left feeling s disappointed don’t think we will be back! Sorry
Couldn’t review food as after waiting 25 minutes for the wine we’d ordered and no food order taken so we left. No apologies or attempts to rectify the situation were made when we advised the staff of this.
It wasn’t full by any means but was noisy due to a group of 8 scruffy and rowdy people coming in without a reservation then subsequently leaving due to ‘not liking steak’ after the waiter had spent ages fussing round them and ignoring other diners. (Smart casual dress? Definitely not).
Lighting was awful and there was no atmosphere. The whole place felt soulless and depressing and wasn’t at all what we’d expected. With the vast choice of excellent restaurants around I feel Gillrays really must raise their game.
10 out of 10, I would highly recommend. The everything about the restaurant was amazing and the service was on point.
Great location with views over Westminster bridge. We had two good quality steaks, one was cooked well and one was not great. The place seemed a bit tired and it was empty at peak time on a week night. Not what I would have expected with it being connected to a hotel. Service was ok but although the staff wore masks there was just not a friendly feel we had got from other restaurants recently, you could tell they didn’t want to be there. There were about 5 tables occupied and we noticed two of the others complaining about steaks aswell which made the atmosphere terrible. When paying around £70 for a steak and given the location I expected a lot better.
Food and service were excellent. Really enjoyed ourselves.
Lovely setting with fantastic views.
Staff were generally helpful although trying to clear plates when most of the party were still eating was annoying.
Advertised 100 gins but didn't have the initial two that we asked for.
Good quality food for a reasonable price - lack of attention to detail made it feel like an expensive occasion.
Lovely bar and good food. Prices are ok for London. Staff very pleasant and helpful but rushed off their feet. Could do with more staff. The musak was a bit loud and some odd choices. I left my hat and reception staff were very helpful and efficient. They found it and left it in reception to pick up next day. Excellent.
Nice meal, good service and lovely surroundings...
Delicious food. My daughter said it was 100% the BEST burger she'd ever had and I agree. Lovely staff. Slightly on the expensive side, but def worth it for the quality and the superb view of The London Eye!
The service and food was immaculate, it was my sons birthday and they made him feel very special!
Overlooking the Thames this is the perfect spot for a great meal.
This was a fantastic choice. Took advantage of set 3 course meal, delicious and jokingly asked for best seat in the house. See photo.
The staff where amazing and couldn’t do enough to make our engagement even more special really appreciated all they did.
Full English breakfast looked more like a Sunday dinner
£16 per person and a £10 service charge wouldn’t recommend it but the hotel itself was amazing
