Although our reservation through Open Table never showed up in the restaurant's list, the overall experience at Gingambó was positive. The food was good. Nevertheless it seems that the restaurant is understaffed. There was a long wait in the pasta station and the seafood station lacked an attendant. Even though we waited for a while for someone to serve us at the seafood station, the servers that came along seemed to be busy and ignored our presence. Eventually we left the station without getting any service. That is not good for customers attending a seafood buffet for a special occasion.
This restaurant was in the hotel we were staying at. This night was the meat buffet. Plenty to choose from from the salad bar to the meats every thing was excellent. The desserts were good and the service was excellent. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Greeted and seated promptly. Service was excellent. Seafood buffet contained all the usual suspects. Pasta station with various types of pasta along with shrimp, scallops etc.. Crab legs, coconut shrimp and much. much more. Desert bar offered something for everyone.
buffet was far less than Prime. We were told it was Prime Meats but the meat was bottom of the barrel. I asked for a thick cut of roast beef and was given a piece as thick as a straw. The meat was well done. Overall it was a complete waste of money as was the breakfast the next day. Avoid at all cost!
I was extremely disappointed by the quality of food on NYE considering the outrageous cost per person ($84) for the buffet (90% of the food was cold). Also, when making the reservation on Open Table, there was no communication on the menu being a buffet/ the cost per person.
Didn’t end up eating here because they were doing a New Year’s Eve buffet for $86/ pp not including alcohol
We ate from the buffet and found the food to be flavorless and overdone.
Gingambo is a lackluster, overpriced, run-of-the-mill hotel restaurant. The food was, in a word, boring. The service was quite good. But, with so many really fine restaurants within walking distance of the Marriott, there's really no reason to dine here.
The restaurant was slow given it was the end of a holiday weekend, but there was no slacking from the kitchen or the wait staff. Our waitress was a delight (long braids, but don't know her name) and made very good ordering suggestions. She even had them make up some garlic bread, though they don't usually serve bread. Sangria was wonderful, food was delicious. Overall, an excellent end to an excellent vacation!
Sooo relaxing. Great food and service next to the pool. No drinks included be prepared for that not even coffee or te. Desserts so so not chocolate included but good. All drinks are extra!!
We always enjoy their buffets. Excellent service. Many food choices that will please everyone. Wonderful dessert station, if you save room. Try it, you'll like it.
great service...home fries could use some onions and spices. most places need to consider frying shredded potatoes is a start not the finish
Food and service A+. Location is perfect for a nice, quiet dinner. Don't take debit cards unless with Visa/MC logo.
Excellent experience overall....excellent food, great ambiance and superb service!
Everything was excellent!! The staff, the food, the ambiance. Can’t wait to come back!
Went on a Saturday night for the seafood/prime rib buffet. Coconut shrimp was the best seafood. Prime rib was not what I call prime rib, but the churrasco in a mushroom sauce was excellent. Between the soup, cold salads (which included peel and eat shrimp, extra large mussels, and bay scallops) there is something for everyone. Desserts were limited to just 2 choices, but you won't leave hungry. Enjoy!!
The food was very well executed. We took a tour of the starters and were very happy with every dish. I would go back if I had time.
EXCELENTE!!! Mi familia quedó muy complacida. SERVICIO, COMIDA, AMBIENTE. REgresaremos nuevamente.
The head of house and the waiter were so kind and accommodating. I left them a huge tip. The food was over cooked and/or microwaved. It took over an hour to receive my main course and I only saw 5 other tables seated there. It was disappointing. Again, the wait staff was excellent, the chef may need to go back to culinary school...
I went here my first night in Puerto Rico. Our server gave us numerous recommendations of foods to order (both here and on the island in general) and made my batch of sangria fresh since i am allergic to pineapple. Food was great and outdoor seating was quiet in the evening though inside seemed slightly more lively the night i went.
We stayed at the hotel for our anniversary and the food was great. The restaurant seems understaff when we arrived bc we never got a visit from the waiting staff after the host seated us. Eventually the host stopped by and gave us water. We helped ourselves with the buffet and toward the end of the meal a waitress, whom just arrived. started servicing us and she was wonderful. Otherwise the food was amazing.
We were expecting a prime rib and crab leg buffet but instead it was New York strip steak (not done individual but cut from one big piece) and seafood risotto. Did not think it was worth $36 a person. There were salads that had cold seafood in them but they didn’t even offer cocktail shrimp. The staff were friendly and the seafood risotto (made to order) was delicious, but besides that wasn’t worth the price. I would have rather paid $50 a person and at least have either prime rib or crab legs on the buffet.
Basic seafood buffet. Would have liked to see items like: some form of lobster, calamari. scallops or clams.
They had no record of our reservation and they were offering only a buffet for $100 per person. We were seated finally and not told about the buffet until later. The food looked great but far too expensive. We left and struggled to find a table at another location with no reservation. Nearly ruined our evening. Big fail all round!
Bad food, bad service, expensive!
Extremely overpriced for a buffet with average food
The rack of lamb had little meat and was over cooked
Great lobster mofongo!
Excellent food and great service! The menu was perfect for the occasion.
Brunch was beyond amazing!!!!
This is my second visit and I was very pleased. The prime rib was cooked to a perfect red and the crabs legs were juicy and flavorful. This is 1 of only 2 venues in San Juan that serves prime rib. Keep it up!
Outstanding (large portion of) seafood risotto . Salmon with squash and onions and a side of grilled asparagus was excellent as well. Pineapple Bomb dessert is a "can't miss' as well.
The service was very professional and food was fresh.
Great!!! Food was affordable.
Good food and service for a hotel. Drinks were well made and food tasted great!
Dined three times at the grill during our stay. Excellent service. Food was very good, as well. A bit pricey but limited choices at the resort. Great outdoor venue.
Service was very good. In terms of food, there was a buffet but we decided to order from the menu and the decision was right. Food was excellent. Try the mamposteao rice and the salmon. We'll definetely come back.
We went with the tapas menu so we could share and try lots of different things. Everything was outstanding and the service was perfect!!
