Sunday 12noon- 10:30pm
Waited a while to go to Gino's and it was well worth it.
The food was amazing although disappointed that the chocolate fondant was not available.
overall a great experience.
Got there it was at least 32 degrees outside there aircon didn't work they had at least 3 dishes we wanted off the menu not available there was 7 of us with 3 children this was the second time there photo booth down stairs was not working which the kids love and only go for that, the service was terrible had to repeatedly ask for items twice even having to go to the bar from are table to get our own drinks. NOT EXCEPTABLE AT ALL
Excellent food and nice staff. Special request for no onion and garlic and chefs made a fresh dish to accommodate. Very much appreciated and very delicious.
A mixed bag. All started well with engaging service and fabulous negronis. Then it all became patchy (olive oil bottles and salt cellars empty - difficult to get service, inconsistent sides and a cold main. Gino’s has the feel of a money making chain that has cut staff too fine with a resulting loss of quality - both service and food. It will take some persuading to get me back.
Beautiful place, food was a letdown. Crispy chicken starter was dry. Chicken mains for £14 was without a side, sauce only. Large piece of chicken. Should reduce size and add a side. Waitress was forgetful.
While the food was delicious and the waitresses/waiter were helpful and friendly, the kitchen service was extremely slow. After seeing the two tables beside us, who had arrived after us, receive their food during our 35 minute wait we had to enquire as to where our food was. At one point, while waiting for our desserts, there was no-one in the kitchen apart from two chefs who were eating their own meals.
Shame that the wait for food and seeing the lack of service in the kitchen took away from what would have been a lovely meal.
Overall, my two friends and I enjoyed our first time at your restaurant. The only blemish was the lack of attention of the waiter. On two occasions we had to ask twice for certain items and when we wanted to leave he was nowhere to be found. Although these seem like trivial issues, I believe that the waiter is a representative of your company and should reflect that.
Slightly disappointed that I booked this for a surprise 50th birthday for a Gino super fan well in advance and no mention of birthday made upon arrival, during meal or when sat at bar after. Our table for two was seated upstairs in ‘green room’ when we were joined by a noisy and large party of 20 youths celebrating a private function. As a result, our longly anticipated meal that we drove 3 hours for was rushed through with 3 courses consumed in less than 45-minutes! No birthday gestures at all sadly. Thankfully, our hotel and also Fortnum & Mason acknowledged the birthday to compensate for what Gino’s didn’t. Front of house chap was pleasant though and bar staff work hard. Great food, however wish we hadn’t been so rushed, poorly located and special occasion overlooked :(
Nice atmosphere and great food, would definitely return.
Very nice restaurant , friendly staff food was nice but the seafood linguine did lack flavour and not much seafood in it , have had nicer in other Italian restaurants
Service let this good restaurant down on our visit. Was it a ‘missing member of staff ‘ due to someone not turning up or the restaurant cutting corners? I hope they sort it out or us regulars / locals will stop dining here and Gino’s will be entirely dependent on one time only tourists.
Crab linguine and veal meatballs saved the day - special!
Lovely food great vibe
What a fantastic gem of a restaurant.
After booking in advance for a table for 7.30 we were still sat at the bar a hr later eventually get to a table ,ordered food the starter came which was only garlic bread then waited a further hour for our main meal then constantly being encouraged to order more drinks the main meal came and it was luke warm...
Our experience was let down by poor responses and actions by waiting staff.
Plates removed whilst one person was still eating
One waiter could not speak sufficient English to take our coffee order.
When paying our bill the waiter did not give us undivided attention and was distracted without an apology or excuse.
Reception staff delightful
Meals arrived too quickly after order and without requesting as break we could have been out in less than an hour. We came to spend a good couple of hours.
When we arrived I was told my booking didn’t exist because they don’t get notifications when people book through Opentable and in future could I make sure I book through their website instead. I mean the best way to avoid the problem would be to rectify the technical glitch rather than lecture diners on some unspoken booking protocol! But Opentable take note! Having said that, that was my only real niggle. We had cocktails at the bar which came with a mini canapé which was a sweet touch (highly recommend the plum and lychee margarita which was super tangy and delicious) and shared a really nice and reasonably priced bottle of Shiraz with the meal. My king prawn bruschetta starter was way too salty but the crab linguine main was a great choice – huge portion too. My friend had the calamari and the veal meatballs and loved both. The ambience was great – it’s not like Michelin star fine dining but it has lots of little touches that make it feel special. The playlist was fun with lots of indie classics (probably for the Camden clientele). Gino’s little descriptions for each menu item was sweet too. It’s not a ‘cool’ restaurant – you know what you’re getting if it’s Gino D’Acampo - the décor is slightly nouveaux-riche (the upside of which is that the loos are spotless) but we had a great time: great food, drinks, atmosphere and prices - I’d wholeheartedly recommend it.
Nice friendly welcome on arrival. Lovely menu but would have liked a bit more time to peruse.
Went for set menu which was very good value. Would be nice to have a varied choice of pizza on set menu.
Lovely decor and clean and tasteful. Liked all the ‘Gino’ photos around restaurant. Very homely.
Maybe a bad day or the c team was on but in no way comparable to when it first opened. Spaghetti with clams and mussels - had 5 clams 3 of which were not open - Pasta took al dente to a new level, an undercooked level even for Southern Italy. In fairness, the front of house staff who were very good, didn’t charge for the main course, but really it shouldn’t have left the kitchen. I would like to think Gino would be shocked with the poor quality of this classic dish - and needs to review level/competence of kitchen staff deployed early evening. On a last note, the restaurant was not busy at the time so that seems not a reason for the poor meal.
All in all a disappointing visit ...
Very good food, value for money service very good. Prime location for buses and tube ( northern line). Will go back.
Our second visit. Booked for 2.30 lunch on a Sunday. The place was heaving. Vegetarians well catered for. Their arancini are gorgeous. My spaghetti however was less than al dente, hence the 4 stars instead of 5.
Extremely nice staff.
The staff were absolutely lovely and the atmosphere was awesome.
Would definitely recommend and will come again !
Thanks very much :-)
We loved the place, food is phenomenal, service HQ and atmosphere beautiful. Prices are affordable too, we would recommend it to everyone. Ginoouuu, Ginoouu!!!!
Nice trendy and good food. Good location in the middle of vibrant Camden
The food was quite tasty but the service was very poor because waiter forgot things like drinks ordered, couldn't explain certain things on menu i.e. how tasted, slow to clear table and attitude seemed to resent having to serve us like everything was too much to ask
From the minute we walked in the service was exceptional and the restaurant had a lovely relaxed atmosphere. The food was worth every penny and we will definitely be back with friends soon.. thank you.
The reception, on arrival somehow cold. We had booked a table, and as we arrived the phone was ringing. Rather then greeting us, the manager answered the phone and we were left waiting for over 10 minutes, while he was chatting to a caller. After that everything run smoothly; there was a mistake in the order, but it was rectified quickly and the quality of food was great. Will definitely go back, as we live locally and its one of the best Italian restaurant around here.
i love love love this place! me and partner are going back again for valentines. amazing food and amazing experience xxx
Beautifully decorated and comfortable surroundings. Easy to find in the heart of Camden. Food was nice. Drinks were excellent. Manager was a little dismissive of us but the rest of the waiting staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Cocktails definitely worth having.
Great food in a fab restaurant. Would love to see in the green room !
Food great staff lovely fun place to be music just right been to gordon ramsey and jamie olivers this is the best so far loved it cant wait to go back
Staff attentive but wanted us To order too quickly. Not a chance to go through the menus and they were upon us calamari wasn't a great starter. Was ok but not brilliant.
Second time in this restaurant and have not been disappointed.
Loved the deco, the Italian waiter, the food was very nice too. We also liked Ginos’ signed recipe books for sale.
Me and my friends all had an amazing night at this restaurant ,portions are large which is perfect for us!! staff are lovely.
I strongly recommend this place, Will definitely be back again.
Brilliant restaurant very friendly staff and great food
Was my friend’s birthday and I had put it on the reservation notes but the waiters didn’t even wish her a happy birthday to make it a bit more special.
Yet again, this chain of restaurants absolutely nails it - service, decor, atmosphere and food all excellent!
Nice ambience and food delicious and freshly made - plenty of choice - service good in the end, however we were shown to our seat and forgotten about despite other tables arriving after us still being served. Spoke to the manager who apologised and sorted it out.
Such a lovely place, great atmosphere, great decor and fantastic food. Prices are good for the high quality food and impeccable service #WellDoneGino
The food was really good, but the portions were tiny and quite a bit overpriced.
