Ginza Onodera is based in the heart of Mayfair, offering a wide variety of Japanese food from authentic to innovative. Using top quality ingredients we create a beautiful harmony including teppanyaki - a cooking style in which a chef cooks in front of you. The Sushi bar is very popular among Japanese expatriates as they recognise the same quality as they eat in Japan.

wonderful Japanese place to dine with family on a Sunday afternoon
Comfortably seated at well spaced, large tables. Broad menu of different styles of Jaapanese cuisine. Truffle season brought an interesting fusion to sukiyaki.
Otoro nigiri memorable. Sommelier is excellent - knowledgable and passionate with a great sake and wine collection to steer around.
One of the best meals out I have had in London! The restaurant has a great atmosphere and there was gentle live music playing which added to the ambience. The food was delicious, each dish was tasty and the portions were pleasantly bigger than expected. We received fantastic service throughout, especially from our sommelier, Amelie, who provided us with some amazing wines along with some great information about each one. I will definitely come back here and would highly recommend a visit!
We had a seasonal course menu and we loved it a lot. Amazing customer services and fantastic food! We don’t usually go this price range of restaurant but it was my husband’s birthday celebration dinner and it was definitely worth it. I hope we can go back hopefully soon!
always one of my fav Japanses dining place in London, Spice tuna tartar is amazing.
And lunch set menu is really good value
I consider it is a good Japanese restaurant，I am recommend by my friends，I think the food is a little expensive than than the value
Service is fabulous and food the best Japanese in London.
We arrived at the restaurant and gave our coats to the hostess. She was very friendly and afterwards took us to the dinning room downstairs. We sat down at our table and we ordered a glass of a Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon and a mocktail. Then we ordered our food. The chef was very friendly and had a lovely chat with us. The food arrived no delays. Flavours were amazing and quality was great . We paid £160 for two people. It was our anniversary and after they took us a picture they printed it and put it in a nice carton frame and gave it to us together with an anniversary plate with our dessert. Really nice touch. Overall we had a great meal and great time. Would definitely return.
So nice, deffo will come again
Went for the Teppanyaki set lunch with the family. Fabulous genuine Japanese kaiseki mixed with Teppanyaki, matching great service and interior.
There are very few places where you can enjoy authentic and well prepared Japanese food in London. Most places are pale imitations with too much emphasis on fusion and other variations. Many places are simply too noisy and the service and ambience is not refined. None of this applies to Onodera.
This does not mean it is boring, bland and staid. It is simply excellent food, beautifully presented and served with the right decorum and with no unnecessary and contrived embellishment.
One of the best expiriences i have ever had, went there to celebrate my birthday and i was treated like a rock star.We did the Tepenyaki counter The chef was amazing he sang happy birthday so many times for me and kept us all in smiles and laughing. The staff is also amazing and explains dishes to you and gives great recommendations too.
I enjoyed everything, the food the staff, chef and the place is worth every penny you will spend (not cheap).i will be back again thank you Ginza onodera.
I booked the afternoon tea as a treat for my sister's birthday and the hospitality was outstanding. They had Happy birthday pipped out on the dessert and also took pictures and printed a card for my sister to take home. The food was delicious and the staff made the day even more special!
lovely staff, food was good but not amazing, and decor was lovely.
A wonderful Japanese restaurant with great food and drinks.
High quality sashimi and sushi. Food was beautifully presented. The black cod was delicious and was a generous sized portion. The black cod croquettes were a an interesting and tasty fusion twist. Service was attentive but not overbearing. Nice dark and wood aesthetic. On the higher end of the dining budget, but this is expected with most decent Japanese establishments.
Pre-theatre menu worth every penny. Enjoyed it very much with friend. Fizzy cocktail and mocha ice cream are the best.
Afternoon tea on Saturday was epic! Wasn’t sure what to expect from a Japanese take on a british classic, but was not disappointed! The food was amazing and the staff were fantastic. We opted for the free flowing champagne option, which was delicious - it turns out they have their own champagne made in collaboration with a vineyard.
Genuinely cannot wait to go back!!!
As a treat for our son and partner, we chose this Japanese restaurant from the review. They were looked after very well by the attentive staff. They enjoyed the food, which they said was fantastic. They had a lovely meal, and overall we were happy that we chose the perfect venue for them to have a memorable evening. Would definitely recommend!
Nice and creative food, good atmosphere, the service is outstanding! High credit to the staffs, they made our dinner memorable, thank you so much!
Went for a birthday dinner. The staff were so friendly and the food delicious that I would definitely come again.
Easy to go to town here, but I experimented with the lunch set menu which was excellent
Good creative cooking but poor service, pretentious atmosphere, and some fairly crass clients (wearing over-sized gold jewellry while hawking spit into a handkerchief repeatedly at dinner)
Celebrating my daughter’s achievements in sports.
Food was amazing. Sushi delicious. Service impeccable. I love this place.
This was my third time dining here over the last couple of months. We were late arriving but had called ahead and they were very accommodating. Went for a birthday treat. Food was great as usual and service fantastic. Cocktails were a little slow to come out but they were absolutely delicious so can’t really complain. Complimentary dessert and photo given for my birthday which was a lovely touch.
Phenomeal service, best Wagyu Kobe beef I've tried in my life, wonderful sake, probably one of the best if not the best restaurant I've had the pleasure of visiting in my life
Great experience which reminded me of my trip to Japan. The food was exceptional, refined and really tasty.
Everything was perfect.
The best Japanese food experience ever had in a long time. My friends took me out to celebrate my recent wedding engagement, Ginza Onodera went the extra mile taking a picture of us and printed it on a card with their congratulations. Afternoon tea was superb with excellent tasty food. I will definitely come back.
Wonderful pre-theatre dinner in a beautifully designed restaurant with a sophisticated but relaxed atmosphere, including two exotic cocktails - really tasty starters including tuna tartare with crispy rice, where the tuna just melted - two excellent main courses of Salmon teppanyaki with a delicious sauce and tender Yuzu baby chicken. Superb attentive but not overbearing service throughout, topped off with some complimentary ice cream in rice paper on a lovely slate platter with Happy Birthday piped on it to celebrate my wife's birthday - a lovely touch, much appreciated! We shall be back for plenty more...
Very authentic Japanese cuisine. Very good. The environment was disappointing, but this was offset with the food and service.
The second worst restaurant I have ever encountered since I moved to London. Me and my partner can’t finish any dish.
Everything was excellent! The tastes and the qualities were amazing. I'll visit again.
I love this place, I always come here as a special treat when I’m in London. What makes this place even more amazing is the staff, super friendly!
This was my first experience of Kobe beef. It was divine and well worth the £100 supplement. It had a unique taste which was superior to my wife's fillet. Overall, a super meal from the Teppan Yaki set menu. It was great to see the fireball ice cream back making a return, too.
Staff molto preparato, attento e gentilissimo.
Awesome, just awesome! Has to be experienced. Top-shelf food, service, knowledge and treatment!
This restaurant was such a good surprise in so many levels. The service was excellent, every single member from staff was very friendly and professional. The atmosphere was great, with background music not too loud, decoration very minimalistic and yet somehow cozy. The food was superb. I can't recommend enough the dry aged Scottish ribeye and the Black cod croquettes. We'll definitely go back!
Staff is lovely. Food (especially appetizers and starters) is good
