Small plates after a long travel day were nice. Good service, well-prepared food
Giraffe provides tasty food at reasonable prices but is probably not the the place to go to for a special evening out. Service is usually friendly and welcoming but on my last visit our waitress was unaware of the 2 or 3 course fixed price meal which is advertised on line. When I showed her my iPhone screen she went off to see the manager and came back with the appropriate fixed price menu. I was left with the impression that Giraffe Bath prefer diners to order from a la carte.
Chicken burger only had a tiny piece of chicken breast. Fries were cold. No water offered for the table and mediocre service. Yet another Bath chain which doesn’t need to rely on repeat business so has just let standards slip.
The service was outstanding Martin who looked after us so well. Food was nice and hot. Can't fault anything.
Nice place to eat. Great for date nights.
The location works for walking distance from the train station.
Enjoyed a meal out at Giraffe, food was good and so was the atmosphere
Only little gripe is that the waiting staff could be a bit more present and one or two of them could do with being a bit happier whilst serving
Really nice food but the waiter wasn’t very friendly or enthusiastic
We had a lovely meal and the waiter was friendly. Service was slow but fortunately we were not in a rush.
Service was fine but table we sat at was grubby - food and grease marks on chairs and floor. Food not great - chicken dry and salad accompaniment odd - spinach leaves with tiny diced tomatoes very tasteless.
We were kept waiting for an hour for our food, it was lunchtime in school holidays so it was busy but even so they shouldn't book tables at the same time if they cannot cater for them. The waiting staff were apologetic and were good it wasnt really their fault - the kitchen couldnt cope with the number of orders. I think it was simply down to too few kitchen staff. The food was good, however the kids couldn't have the chirros because the wait would have been too long and we were already way behind time.
I've visited this restaurant before and had excellent service and lovely food but recently it's gone down hill, which is a shame. I appreciate its the school holidays but it wasn't overly busy and that's not an excuse to let standards drop. Our table was dirty, the high chair my granddaughter sat in was sticky and there was food under the table. Most of the food was average but my daughter said she really enjoyed her burger. The service was minimal, they took our order, they brought us our food. No one asked if everything was ok or checked we had everything. I will visit again, on my own, just in case this was an off day but on the result of this visit I wouldn't recommend this restaurant.
Lovely warm welcome, staff were friendly and polite. Nice clean tables.
Lovely lunch out with a friend.
We didn’t have to wait to long for our food.
Cocktails were tasty and good prices too, Food was delicious and full of flavour.
We were very happy and would definitely be back again!
We came for an evening meal as a group of friends. The service was terrible and extremely slow - we were in there for almost 3 hours for a two course meal. We were never offered extra drinks and the food was not very warm.
Excelent and varied food choice; loved the Tapas which is good value for money.
Fantastic breakfast all freshly cooked. The coffee was good too. Would definitely go again, especially since mothers are free in mother’s day
Food was average and the selection was poor, staff were disinterested and the toilets were very dirty, we will not go back.
Vegetarian options were delicious and the drinks were good. Make sure you check the bill. They have us 2 for one drinks and then charged us for 2 drinks until I queried it.
They didnbtake a drink order and had to request drinks after our food arrived. They managed to get the drink order and deserts order incorrect.
They are more interested in talking to each other than looking after the guests!
We love going to Giraffe and prefer Swindon Outlet. They are 100% busier, but manage to be professional and really do look after you.
Really lovely family lunch. Tasty and lots of great veggie options.
A pleasant meal but food was good but not brilliant hence the 4 stars
It was all very good. Service was quick on a very busy day. Ordered a coffee that was very weak but sorted immediately within arguments. Impressed
We had a meze, desserts and drinks. The staff were very helpful and attentive.
Felt uneasy, we were placed at the back of the restaurant near the kitchen and could hear different music coming from every angle. The first bad sign was that the seat on one side of the booth was held together by duct tape and then they did not have patatas bravas and as a result we were left with chips topped with garlic mayo and tinned tomatoes, not very appetizing. The crispy duck was very crispy with little amount of duck and the only saving grace of this restaurant was the burger. This cost far too much for what it was and should really be marketed differently as it was a very budget take on world food. I will not be returning and honestly believe that my 40 pounds would have been a lot better off elsewhere
The food was very good and the service was also good. I had lipstick on my wine glass and they changed this immediately. Have been there twice now and enjoyed both times. Toilets are a little grubby.
Our table was to close to the toilet and could smell it and was to small for four people.
Food was good
Really nice and quick service. Kids friendly. Really good food even for children.
Overall not a bad experience. I had snakes bacon naan from the breakfast menu and sadly my naan was quite burnt so didn’t really enjoy it all that much. Staff were friendly and attentive but also seemed under pressure as it was quite busy.
We decided on Giraffe for a last minute family meal on Saturday evening because there is something for everyone on the menu. We had one of the booths which was nice and the service was excellent. 3 of us had tapas which were good sized portions.
As always a great experience. The children love it there & the waiting staff are always brilliant & accommodate their strange requests- burger less burgers & cheesy chips for dessert for example.
Great service. Music was a little loud. Nice surprise that kids ate free!!
I have emailed the restaurant separately but in short 2 of the meals were not satisfactory and one was only just okay.
The servers weren’t very welcoming / happy although did what we asked.
Very noisy and hard to hear friends.
Table was far too small for the amount of people we had
Good food, good value and great service. I have a very fussy eater in my family and they did everything I asked to help me and accommodate my daughters needs.
Service was really good and the food was as always lovely.
If you want a wide selection of food, Giraffe is great, however this is also where they fall down, failing to impress with anything I've tried on their menu.
The Bath restaurant has wonderful staff, with our individual waiter being friendly, without being overbearing. The duty manager (or who I believe to be so) is absolutely fantastic, he is a credit to this restaurant. Whilst I will not be frequenting Giraffe due to their mediocre food, I will be tempted to go back to the Bath restaurant due to their good prices and truly exceptional staff.
Lovely food, and a well priced set menu available. Was originally charged for the wrong wine, but this was quickly resolved. Would recommend to anyone in the area.
Four of us arrived for a birthday meal and ordered our food. Three of us received the food (but didnt start while waiting for the food for the birthday person) After waiting a long time we chased up to find it had to be redone. It eventually arrived (and our food was luke warm). When finished we ordered dessert. The birthday person didn't want the chocolate or toffee topping (they cant eat it). The waiter made a note of this and we again waited for the dessert. Eventually it arrived however it had the topping on it. The birthday person couldn't eat their dessert we decided to finish our desserts and go elsewhere. We paid and left.
Booked table for 7.15 as we had an event to get to. Served 1 hour later and rushed. Food was luke warm. Several menu choices not available. Food poor quality. Won’t be back in a rush
Giraffe Bath is a good, unpretentious restaurant in an excellent location near the bus and railway stations. The menu provides an interesting combination to choose from ranging from tapas, burgers and more substantial main meals and I particularly enjoyed their Thai style duck stir fry. Service was friendly and attentive. It will not be long before I return.
Service wasn’t brilliant wait for food was ages and it was only2 steaks. Cancelled my 7pm booking at 6.20
Showed to a dirty table with ripped seats stuck together with black tape. Steak over cooked no presentation. Salad was wilted rocket nothing else. Partner ordered ribs much the same there. Will not be returning
