Weren’t given children’s menus, once sat at the table the waiter immediately started serving the table next to us. The next waitress that arrived just stood at the end of the table no hello or politeness. The only time she smiled was when she was telling us half the menu was out of stock! My burger was the same size as the child’s burger?! Overall poor experience. Won’t be going back.
No point booking as we just had to wait in a queue for 20 minutes with everyone else!!!!
Great food and fast service! Very friendly staff! Mu family was visitting and all of them absolutely loved it!
Excellent service and very good food at a reasonable price. I would recommend to friends. Great location near Bath Spa station, Southgate carpark and the town centre.
Great service, delicious food and incredibly child friendly, my 4 year old particularly liked the option for broccoli (really!), the colouring in sheet and not forgetting the giraffe outside the door! Thank you!
Some confusion with reservations initially but was resolved quickly. Several menu choices were not available. However overall a pleasant meal. Chose Giraffe as they take lunch time booking which some other restaurants don’t.
Good menu, really good food, very friendly service
We always come when we visit our son in Bath-good value, nice ambiance and fab service.
We are a large party with 7 children and we always feel welcome.
Maybe some gluten free alternatives?
We had excellent service although they weren't super busy so couldn't comment for peak hours. The booth we were sat at was a bit grubby, the chairs were stained and looked like they needed a good wash and the table was a little sticky. Food came out quick enough and was always hot. The food was slightly underwhelming and could have had a little more flavour, but good portion sizes. We enjoyed ourselves but luckily had a 50% off voucher as it wasn't worth the full price. Probably won't rush back again.
Quite hectic but it was rugby day, always seems to be quite noisy including the music
Dirty glasses, burnt food....
Wouldn’t recommend it to anyone
The meal was largely ok, however prior to service one of the waiters cleaned the tables with the most toxic cleaning spray. I breathed in the fumes and spent the next 10 minutes coughing and wheezing outside. Not very happy.
Unfortunately we did not have a great experience. Everything we ordered we were then told they had ran out after waiting numerous minutes. Then ordered a burger and it was stone cold when we received it.
The usual queues at the door, you can’t escape this even when you’ve booked a table. They don’t actually reserve a table for you so have to wait for a table regardless. Front of house staff rude, was sat in a very dark walk through area to then just be looking at a concrete wall. One good point, The guy serving us was really friendly and enthusiastic. The food we ordered was really really over cooked and swimming in grease, even my Penang bang salad wasn’t to its usual standard. I did advise the waiter of this. I would never eat at this branch again. Cabot Circus Branch 100 times better in every way. Eating out is an expense and treat, hugely disappointing.
Poor experience - staff were unfriendly and uninterested in our party. Not all menu choices were available - waiter was so disinterested in us we had to keep chasing him for extra drinks and after 30 minutes from clearing our table we had to hunt him down again to get the bill as we ran out of time for dessert / coffee!
Not been to giraffe in a long time but wind be rushing back
The service was so bad, they were perfectly nice but even for a table of 7.. We couldn't keep their attention. My nephew found a piece of bone in his salad... We asked for a drink for my sister more than 4x! Even got up and walked up to a staff member to chase it up and it still didn't arrive until we asked a 4th time! Due to my nephew finding a piece of bone in his salad they offered to make his meal free, but when we got the bill again which took a long time to get they had used the meerkat buy one get one free but didn't seem to have taken off my nephews meal just used the offer we already had! By this point we just couldn't be bothered anymore so paid and left.
Whilst I would recommend Giraffe - Bath to a friend, it was concerning that there were quite so many flies at the window where we were sat. Varying in size, they were troublesome. I didn't ask to be moved and perhaps I should have. The place felt as if it needs a bit of a spruce up. Otherwise the food was lovely and our first server (who went for a break half way through our meal so wasn't able to catch her name) was lovely. Bright, smiley and very helpful when choosing our dishes. We will be back, but perhaps we'll ask for a different table next time!
Waitress was lovely kind and very helpful . Unfortunately the children did not like the pasta they ordered and she offered let them pick a different meal from the menu which was prepared fast and we are extremely thankful for this .
Food and service were good. Background music was far too loud & intrusive. Menus were dirty & sticky.
Lovely food and drink with a good selection available. Our party of 3 had a meat eater, vegetarian and vegan and there were plenty of options for all three of us. Table service was quite slow considering we were in there off peak however our servers were very polite and helpful when they did get round to us.
Great food and great staff will be returning again
Lovely lunch albeit we had to wait some 20 minutes after ordering before our drinks arrived. It was only when I prompted staff that they brought them to us stating apologies for forgetting . We had already started our food just before our drinks arrived . This wasn’t great service in my opinion .
The staff were very helpful, friendly & professional, and were able to answer all of our queries relating to the food menu
The food was all delicious, piping hot & timely
The Prosecco Bellini cocktails were delicious, I would definitely recommend trying them !!
Will definitely be back for both the food & drink.
Very average food, but dreadful service. Very slow and staff so glued to the tablet screens they wear on their wrists, it was impossible to get their attention when we wanted something.
For a busy Saturday afternoon the staff were great. Happy and polite. The food arrive in perfect time and was yummy.
Taste of food was the only good thing. They ran out of a few main dishes but didn’t tell us before we chose so went through the feeling of being disappointed. One dish came out wrong. I put on the booking it was for a birthday but this never got mentioned by staff. We refused to pay optional service charge as didn’t feel it was earned, but they came after us saying we hadn’t paid the full bill!
If you are gluten free then i would avoid Giraffe. As a gluten free customer, it is not unreasonable to be given a gluten free menu, or be talked through your options with a member of staff. At Giraffe you are handed a multi page document of all dishes on the menu listing which allergy items are in each.
So, that means, you look at a dish on the menu, find the corresponding dish in the multi-page document see if it contains any ingredient that has gluten in it and decide if you can eat it.
Seriously poor customer experience which i will not be repeating. A shame as the food was actually ok.
Great service and friendly, the only thing i would say is, the option to add gratitude to the bill, it is automatically added on which i think should be optional.
Nice food, the tapas was really good maybe. Although the chips were quite over priced. The waitress was very helpful and smiley 😊
Small plates after a long travel day were nice. Good service, well-prepared food
Giraffe provides tasty food at reasonable prices but is probably not the the place to go to for a special evening out. Service is usually friendly and welcoming but on my last visit our waitress was unaware of the 2 or 3 course fixed price meal which is advertised on line. When I showed her my iPhone screen she went off to see the manager and came back with the appropriate fixed price menu. I was left with the impression that Giraffe Bath prefer diners to order from a la carte.
Chicken burger only had a tiny piece of chicken breast. Fries were cold. No water offered for the table and mediocre service. Yet another Bath chain which doesn’t need to rely on repeat business so has just let standards slip.
The service was outstanding Martin who looked after us so well. Food was nice and hot. Can't fault anything.
Nice place to eat. Great for date nights.
The location works for walking distance from the train station.
Enjoyed a meal out at Giraffe, food was good and so was the atmosphere
Only little gripe is that the waiting staff could be a bit more present and one or two of them could do with being a bit happier whilst serving
Really nice food but the waiter wasn’t very friendly or enthusiastic
We had a lovely meal and the waiter was friendly. Service was slow but fortunately we were not in a rush.
Service was fine but table we sat at was grubby - food and grease marks on chairs and floor. Food not great - chicken dry and salad accompaniment odd - spinach leaves with tiny diced tomatoes very tasteless.
We were kept waiting for an hour for our food, it was lunchtime in school holidays so it was busy but even so they shouldn't book tables at the same time if they cannot cater for them. The waiting staff were apologetic and were good it wasnt really their fault - the kitchen couldnt cope with the number of orders. I think it was simply down to too few kitchen staff. The food was good, however the kids couldn't have the chirros because the wait would have been too long and we were already way behind time.
I've visited this restaurant before and had excellent service and lovely food but recently it's gone down hill, which is a shame. I appreciate its the school holidays but it wasn't overly busy and that's not an excuse to let standards drop. Our table was dirty, the high chair my granddaughter sat in was sticky and there was food under the table. Most of the food was average but my daughter said she really enjoyed her burger. The service was minimal, they took our order, they brought us our food. No one asked if everything was ok or checked we had everything. I will visit again, on my own, just in case this was an off day but on the result of this visit I wouldn't recommend this restaurant.
