Giraffe - Grand Central
Food arrived quickly
Tasteless bland food
Expensive for the quality
Fast service but poor food
Such a shame as the food was enjoyable but the lack of service and interaction meant daughters dessert was missed, I had to chase my food, chase for service, asked for the kids toys, bill was incorrect and witnessed staff being rude to one another.
Really enjoyed our brunch, catered well for us plus our toddler. Diverse brunch menu. Did not have to wait too long to be served or for our food to arrive which was ideal with a young child. Staff were really welcoming and attentive. Only thing we would really change is that we love our fresh orange freshly squeezed but aside from that it was perfect for brunch.
We arrived during the lunch time rush but we were seated promptly. The staff were attentive without being overly pushy. My partner ordered a prawn curry and I had the fish and chips, I opted to pay the extra £2 to "Go large" on the fish. Our food arrived without too long a wait and I was surprised at the fish portion, I thought it would just be a larger sized fillet but it was TWO pieces of fish with a good portion of chips. My partner really enjoyed the curry and I must admit the fish was tasty but I struggled to finish both pieces. We had a dessert of a sharing dish of Churros with a chocolate sauce. The chocolate was a little disappointing as it tasted quite synthetic. The only down side was the fact because it is in the main Central Concourse it was very noisy. Overall though it was a nice meal.
Nice lunch not too busy seated quickly , service was excellent, food portions varied in size , prob ably overpriced for value. 2 for 1 Meerkat was good
Really nice food , good service but a little bit expensive
We loved our meal and your staff were helpful, prompt and polite. We will return.
Were welcomed politely and efficiently and our table was in the ideal place - will come again.
The burgers were delicious and great value at 50% off on Tuesday's. Really friendly staff too
The service was good and I really enjoyed my main, however, I was extremely disappointed with the dessert. I ordered the white chocolate and passionfruit cheesecakes and it had no flavour to it. I could not taste any white chocolate and even the dribble of sauce did not add anything to it, I thought it was the biggest waste of money!
Overall, a very pleasant eating experience. We had Lamb Tagine and Chicken Katsu which were both most enjoyable. The desserts that we wanted were not available, that was the only disappointment.
Superb food really enjoyed it especially good value on burgers on a Tuesday made the price more affordable to eat out.
As always our visit did not disappoint. Great food and Great service. I would highly recommend. 5 Stars
The staff really friendly.food great onion rings are one of the nice ones we had ...we be going back:-)
I went to meet up with a friend I hadn't seen in a while and we both had never been here before. The staff were very welcoming, friendly and very helpful. I asked for my meal to be altered slightly and the staff sorted it out in a very professional way. The food is lovely and very of a good standard, as well as the prices being very reasonable. I will definitely be returning again.
Place and atmosphere was perfect.
starters had no fault.
Main was bland needed more taste.
had to call waitress for service few times.
When arriving was left standing for a long time as members seemed to finish off there chat.
Super food as ever. Great value with kids half term offer. Well definitely be back again.
Scrambled egg is simply the best!
We had a great experience from start to finish. The staff were polite and whilst they were busy, they never made you feel like they were too busy to serve you.
The food was delicious and great value for money. I will definitely go back
Visited the restaurant during half term luckily I booked a table so was shown to it straight away
Food and drink orders where taken quickly and arrived in good time.
How ever the air con was blowing big time so made the food go cold quick.
Also the restaurant was in the middle of a shopping centre so there where no near by toilet facilities
We enjoyed a really nice meal at Giraffe - Grand Central when we were visiting Birmingham. There was a good range of choices on the menu - hard to choose - and just a bit different to the usual restaurants.
The restaurant is very open, being located in the upper concourse of the railway station, so not cosy, but staff were very friendly and helpful. Wish we had a Giraffe nearer home!
Disappointing in comparison to other Giraffe restaurant s visited but perhaps this was because of lack location. Food fast and unattractive although tasted ok. No servitude or cutlery without asking. Quick bite to eat but nothing more.
Food was average, my burger wasn't piping hot, very noisy but place and average service yet add 10% on the bill which isn't justified. Overall overpriced for a very average vegan menu I wouldn't eat here again as there are places offering better variety at a better price.
Meal was very good value at 2 for 1 but I would have been disappointed if I had paid full price, especially the desserts. The venu is open to the shopping area and there is a constant draft (they do supply rugs to cover up though!) also the toilets are a 5 min walk away at the entrance to the shopping complex.
Great if there is an offer, better places to pick if not.
Based on service YES, based on food & ambiance not really as it was cold and the food wasn't as good as I had had on previous visits. It was a birthday lunch and we were left disappointed sadly.
Love Giraffe. Had my favourite chicken rodeo burger (minus cheese). Food was served quickly even though it was a busy Saturday. Recommend booking a table.
Great food and very efficient, friendly service. I wasn’t expecting it to be this good! Didn’t really feel like we were in the middle of Grand Central. We were able to have a good chat and enjoy our lunch. Only disappointment, we chatted so much we didn’t have time for dessert!
Good food, helpful staff, only gripe - we were given the bill before we had asked for it, as if they wanted us to leave.
Good selection on the menu, good portion sizes, attentive service. Very pleased, thanks.
Been to Giraffe before for breakfast and really enjoyed it... HOWEVER visited with some friends on Friday evening for dinner and was placed on a table in the corner underneath the air conditioning and it was freezing! We wondered if it was due to us being sat on the edge of the restaurant in the open but looking around lots of other diners were sat in their coats. I was really looking forward to my Katzu chicken noodles but they were a disappointment - just about warm and barely any sauce, the chicken was tasteless (I would have gained more pleasure eating Asda chicken dippers). Two of my friends sent their curries back due to it being barely warm. The menu has lots of choice and variety so there is a lot of potential to be had there but don't expect too much as it's not a satisfying tasting selection of dishes in the slightest and don't visit if you prefer your food to actually be hot when it arrives.
Food nothing special despite creative and extensive menu but fine for lunch. Staff very pleasant and service good
Really nice meal unique good service and cocktails
Not happy with the service we received throughout our visit. No warm welcome, not even a smile throughout the whole time we were there.
Visited last week for a works Christmas meal (group of 10) we arrived 15 minutes before our booking and they seated us straight away! The lovely lady at front of house said there would be a bit of a wait for food as it was very busy but we didn't have to wait that long, great food and atmosphere, will definitely visit again :)
Great food after a days shopping
Quick service , good value for money
Great food ....good choices. Good value for money, especially if vouchers are available. Excellent staff - pleasant/efficient/knowledgeable. Food delivered quickly. Handily located in pleasant surroundings - good buzz about the place.
Very average and therefore disappointed. Most of the nachos in the starter were burnt (but to be fair to staff they did exchange fairly promptly).
Pulled pork burger main course was a bit on the dry side too (but not enough to merit replacement).
Don’t think I would bother returning.
Overall very good, however, our waitress was a little distracted and came across as rude! We had asked for her to order our meals separately so bill was split but this didn’t happen, probably because of her distraction!
Was a lovely place to meet up with friends & family lovely food great service
Would highly recommend
Poor food, poor portion sizes not tasty and expensive
Great service and atmosphere. It was a bit cold due to the location, but that's to be expected I suppose. Food was good, although the patatas bravas were a wee bit crunchy.
Will go back.
