Average taste, medium to high prices. We tried fish and chips.. definitely not recommended
Service a bit slow and mains did not all come at once - it was a busy evening
Was good food and ambience. Service slightly hit and miss as not all drinks were brought out and we had to chase the food. But still a lovely experience all round
Food was okay. We went on a Thursday, and it wasn't particularly quiet in the restaurant. But we felt that the service was quite slow, whether it was time taken for someone to come and take our order, or the length of time taken for a staff member to notice we had been trying to make eye contact to get the bill.
Used to like Giraffe but thought it was an uninspiring menu, a horribly noisy environment and I especially object to 12.5% being automatically added to my bill for perfectly average service. £20 a head for what you get in a Wetherspoons for half that! Sorry
We went to Giraffe for My daughter’s birthday- our waitress was so lovely and attentive...
The food was lovely and our booth was nice. The music was a little loud I think but apart from that it was brilliant ! Thank you 😊
Had booked a table but it wasn't ready when we arrived so had to wait. Good selection of food on menu and came quickly and tasted good, but portions a little small for teenage boys. Had to wait a long time for the waiter to come back and take dessert order and in the end we decided not to have dessert as we had to head off to get a train. Good location for a casual meal in London.
Very slow service, and not good food. But, nice area to be at Southbank.
Nice place to bring friends or family. Good atmosphere and selection
The Katsu curry was cold, the sticky rice was very dry and the tenderstem broccoli was cold and under cooked so I will not be returning to this restaurant. The restaurant did not charge us for those dishes which was fair as they were not very nice.
I would definitely recommend this place if you have kids. They have a section for you to park your stroller which is always handy if you're a parent. The breakfast was a standard English brekky which I enjoyed and they have a kids menu for around 3:50 can't really remember but defo affordable . The pancakes from the kids menu were really good too and more than enough for 2 adults to share in my opinion. (We have 3 kids) I gave 3 stars for the food only because we went for brunch and only tried the breakfast. I will go again for lunch or dinner then do another review but I love it here they really do cater for families and had crayons at the ready.
Absolutely great time, we booked a table for my daughters birthday and we couldn’t fault anything. The food was a great variety for all ages, there was 4 of us ranging in ages 1 year to 30 years old, all with different preferences for food and there was something on the menu for all of us. Service was great, quick and very friendly. Definitely be going back again
Visited with my two teenage children. Great atmosphere, very relaxed and family friendly. There were lots of people around us with much younger children. Staff friendly, efficient and showed a sense of humour. The atmosphere was good inside, with music playing, we ate outside as it was a lovely sunny evening and we like to people watch! Food arrived quickly and was beautifully presented. There are plenty of interesting choices and reasonable prices, especially for London. Kids loved it.
It was so lovely and the food was amazing 😃😃
A gem of a find for us! Such a warm welcome and all staff were friendly. The food was lovely, the atmosphere was great. Will definitely go back
What an amazing place. The staff, food, an atmosphere were all 11 out of 10. Hope to be back soon.
Excellent service and quality of food, friendly staff. Good value for money
Disappointing. Food was mediocre: a medium rare steak was tough and barely edible - embarrassing as that had been ordered by a US visitor whom we were treating - and my chicken katsu curry had a very ungenerous amount of chicken for the price. One of the main courses arrived 10 mins after all the others - staff were apologetic but no explanation was given, and the item remained on the bill at the end. Men’s toilets were a shambles. The staff were doing their best but this place needs to up its game. Will not be returning until then.
Not enough choice on the menu. This used to be a regular go to place when we visit London but we won't be returning.
The 'skin' on fries were not very edible & a mediocre ribs at £17.50 were no better than supermarket ones at £4.00.
The staff however were extremely attentive & service was spot on.
The noise level was a bit too high for our taste, but the music was turned down immediately as we said so.
A varied menu with lots of tastes catered for. Good kids menu and when there was some confusion with my daughter's order it was sorted without hesitation.
Chose Giraffe because I knew it would have something for everyone on the menu! Portion sizes were a bit smaller than what I remember from last time, but we still loved the food, the service and will definitely be back again!
I love this branch of giraffe and have used it four times now. The only downside is the noise - it was very loud and no one could talk, but really and truly that didn’t spoil a lovely meal. The staff were outstanding, and the service is second to none.
Dined here with friends and their young children. Good atmosphere, attentive staff. Food what you would expect from a chain. Cheap and cheerful.
Really quick, friendly and helpful staff, even though they were very busy. Food and drinks all very good. Can't really fault in any way.
Perfect place for families with kids. Good menu choices. Veggie friendly.
We love it here as my family has varied tastes and with such a varied menu there is always something to please everyone. My daughter loved the kids salmon teriyaki! The steak was delicious and cooked to perfection and the katsu curry and chicken malay curry were flavourful and well spiced without being overly hot. We sat outside (great for a bit of people watching) as the sun set over the Thames. As we mentioned it was my daughter’s birthday they brought out a complementary birthday brownie with ice cream and a candle on top and the staff sang her happy birthday which really brought a smile to all our faces. Great service with a smile, food came quickly and was top notch. We really love this place and highly recommend for a lovely family meal for any occasion.
The food was bland, dry and over priced. Having been to giraffe before it was my worst experience
This was a good setting and a lively atmosphere. Great to arrive in happy hour and have two cocktails for the price of one! I had booked a table online and when we arrived early no-one took our name so then I was followed up with an email assuming we had not turned up so that was disappointing. We both enjoyed our meals and would eat at Giraffe again. Service was speedy and friendly.
A little disappointed with both the staff (even though it was 10.30am so can’t blame it for being busy) and the food. The waitress didn’t understand our order and got very confused and the food itself was just a standard fry-up that I could make myself. The bacon and sausages were low quality as well.
Nothing any trouble. One dish was not hot enough but dealt with very well by staff. No complaints and kids loved it.
Place was a mess. Ambience chaotic. Food poor quality. A family of four without pudding cost £70. Better off going to McDonald’s for value for money!
Table booked online in advanced but there wasn’t a table ready. The one that was pointed out to us was dirty and wasn’t ready. The lady on the desk was very distracted, didn’t interact with us or any eye contact. We then had to wait for someone to ask us if we wanted a drink after we had sat down for about 5 minutes. Food was quick and tasted good and our waiter was friendly but service at the start wasn’t great. Didn't give a great first impression
We booked a table on the hottest day of the year prior to attending the theatre at County Hall. One of our party was very delayed and the staff were amazing - they agreed to keep the food warm until the latecomer arrived and then actually re-cooked the whole meal as they didn't think it was good to serve when they did arrive. The restaurant was very busy, but the staff were friendly and helpful throughout. The food was good quality and of a comparable price to other similar restaurants in this part of London.
We received the wrong food and drinks orders. Expensive for standard food.
It's a fast food restaurant. It serves a purpose but there are far nicer places to eat.
We enjoyed the pre-theatre meal before going to the National.
First time at any giraffe, easy to book on line. Good food choice and reasonable value. Service was fast and efficient.
Lovely friendly staff who went out of their way to welcome us with our dog
Giraffe consistently delivers with lovely staff and god food. We were warmly welcome at the entrance and by the waiter.I thought the menu was very good with a varied selection of main courses and puddings. Service was fast and efficient despite the place being very busy. Well done. We will be back!
