The food was
The brunch with bottomless prosecco was indeed bottomless, we got our refills quickly despite there being many guests.
I had the English/Scottish breakfast, liked it.
It was nice to be able to have this brunch with a friend and at a nice location, outside in the summer (had a shade above us luckily).
Lack of uniform makes it nearly impossible to tell who's a server and who's a customer, I felt uncomfortable asking for something in case I ask a fellow customer whom I mistake as a server.
Food was served quick, way too quick. Compare the quality to the previous time I dined at this venue it was less than average. Salad was clearly pre made this time, barely anything else but the middle of two lettuces still left in one peace not even leafed. My chips was forgotten then served cold.
Not impressed, as after the last visit I was looking forward to eat there.
Everything was disappointing unfortunately.
Great value, location, food drinks and service.
Only gripe is lack of sunshades outside on a very hot day. There used to be parasols on the tables. Now you have to choose between sunburn or sitting inside. I made the wrong choice and now have a very red face.
We went for brunch. One of my eggs (eggs benedict) was as hard as a squash ball but the rest was OK. Our drinks arrived after our food too.
Person on welcome desk was not particularly welcoming
Amazing food and service!! Will be back for sure.
Had to wait 10 minutes for a table even though we booked in advance as they were taking too many walk ins. Service is quick and prices very reasonable. Especially enjoyed the £5 cocktails
Food very average.
Olivia was our waitress and she was excellent!! Great service and we love the inexpensive cocktails!
Food was fine, menu altered since last visit and seems to have gone a bit cheap on the kids food, I'd rather have paid a bit more TBH and had a bit better quality (Pizza wasn't great and pasta was a bit basic) no salad side with chips (which obviously children will choose) or starter adult food was fine but menu wasn't as good as last visit. We were regulars of giraffe until before pandemic. I was charged twice by mistake as card machine not working but I'm sure this will be resolved.
The food was excellent and the serving staff were friendly.
The ambiance in the restaurant was great and the selection was great.
We were there with meat eaters and vegans and there was plenty selection.
Food was bland and overcooked. Service was ok. We did the bottomless Prosecco brunch, but the waiters weren’t particularly quick in topping us up. Used to love the Giraffe, but it has clearly gone downhill in recent years.
Best thing going for it is it’s perfect location on the South Bank
Lunch with friends for the first time in ages. The Southbank location was convenient for all 4 of us.
The menu was varied although the main course that two of us wanted was not available. The food was very tasty, 1 of us had the interesting Swinging Chicken Kebab, which is literally on a pole swinging over the plate. Our waiter was lovely, really helpful and nothing was too much trouble.
NB there is building works going on when we were there, right next to the restaurant so you need to bear with that if you chose to sit outside. The inside is spacious and looks nice if the weather isn’t great.
Good service, very disappointing menu options for dairy/soya free - nothing on entire brunch menu was available to me
Would mainly recommend Giraffe for drinks and starters rather than anything else.
Went with three friends on a Tuesday evening; ordered drinks and a starter and main meal each. Calamari and nachos were great, my friend only received two onion rings - very overpriced, whilst their chicken burgers were dry and fries were unseasoned (apart from salt) and heavily undercooked. The Korean BBQ Chicken was good. The ambience was nice as we were by the Thames and it was sunny, however, it was hard to get the servers attention to order more drinks (although it was quite busy which makes sense) so we decided to relocate elsewhere.
We had 2 baby’s with us and got a real good child friendly service
Had a fantastic afternoon here with my family on Sunday. Sat outdoors and had a blast; staff were all amazing and extremely attentive. We had the bottomless brunch and we didn’t need to ask for a top up once, they just constantly kept coming to us with more glasses! Would definitely come back.
The staff were very friendly, and helped me discreetly surprise my friend with a birthday cake. Food was great and good selection. Would recommend!
Spent a lovely brunch with a friend, the food and the service were great.
Good for a quick meal, was quiet at breakfast time
We’re we’re seated early after we changed out times and they were happy to accommodate it, all the staff were healthy and making sure are drinks were good and food was good. Overall the whole evening was really good- they did have to close early due to staffing but no body complained and everyone was happy to drink up and depart,
Definitely book again while in London
Table was not ready on arrival although we had booked a table,
I asked if we could sit inside and have a drink whilst waiting for a table outside, this was too confusing and had to wait outside for 20 mins for our table,
The passionfruit martini is horrible. I would not advise this, however the rum punch is nice and the food, waitress at the table was attentive, but did not check back during service,
Would not return due to poor manner of staff and drinks
The food was greasy and lacked flavour. Friendly staff .
great location, very busy but understaffed
Lovely food and drinks, very affordable. We did have to wait around 15 mins for our table even though it was booked, this didn’t bother us though.
Sitting outside was lovely, better then in for sure
Very fast service and nice staff
We were there 3 days , the waitress we had was wonderful, made sure we were never without a drink🙂She was so lovely
We had the crab and Californian burgers, which were pretty good. The service was okay: the table wasn’t ready when we arrived and the drinks took a while to come, whilst the food arrived almost immediately. The place was hectic, very noisy and the very loud music didn’t help at all. Additionally they tipped us a 12.5% service charge l, which we thought, was very expensive for the service we’ve received.
Lunch for 2 adults and 2 children, all very nice
Booked this place as we have kids and knew it would be quick and easy. The place was really full and we were seated pretty quickly (we had reserved). The ladies loos were out of action so they were using the disabled loo which meant a pretty constant queue of people and one of the cubicles in the men’s loo was full of toilet rolls and cleaning gear.
The staff were pretty good in general and there’s a wide choice of food and plenty for the kids. We ordered and it seemed to take ages for the starters, when we checked in to see how long they were going to be all our food arrived at once. I said we didn’t want our mains at the same time as the starters and was told I should have let them know at the point of ordering. The waiter was quite insistent that I was the one that should know they send everything out together and not that they should ask. They did take the main courses back but they just left them under the hot lights and brought them back a few minutes later.
The food quality was ok but not better than that and the kids pizzas looked more like a quiche. 2 adults and 2 kids ate for about £50.
I’d say this was just OK, they seemed to have a lot of staff rushing about but not much actual service and the food wasn’t that great quality.
Used to love Giraffe, haven't been in a while and won't be rushing back. The Veggie brunch looked very unappetising on the plate, zero lack of care, tasted ok, cheap bread not like what they used to do. The smoothie was even badly made with so many lumps of banana I couldn't drink some of it and big chunks of ice. The smoothies used to be delicious. This is obviously a very family friendly place, luckily we were outside, in the pouring rain, much better than the noisey, chaotic inside. The staff were efficient and friendly. But in my personal opinion standards have very much slipped at Giraffe which is sad.
Very slow and waited 20 mins for a booked table. Poo quality food
It was very busy. Even though I booked it made no difference. It was a while before we were served. Half the menu was not available.
The food was generous portions and well priced.
Grill not working that meant any meat was off the menu but not told of this by waitress until supervisor turned up, wife's meal turned up late with onion in its regrowth stage. Didn't say for dessert... had better meals but very disappointed. Took off 2 meals from the menu and an apology - but when the waitress came back with the bill she didn't even know what had happened. Need to communicate to staff. Very poor.. not likely to go back... Could they have not told people before they sat down??
PS Toilets dirty and women's was out of action! So ladies queue for the disabled toilet.
No burgers or steak available but only told once seated.
Nachos had limited toppings and liquid cheese
Kids pizza was like a small tomato pie
Very poor quality food
Really loud music couldn’t hear each other.
Very slow service but pleasant service when she came over!
Ladies loos blocked, horrible and out of order. Disabled loo out of order. One gent loo working
Service was really great, staff were very accommodating of fussy teenagers, the menu seemed very small, no salads available but the food we had was very good.
Great Brunch with free flowing Prosecco and great menu for kids.
The food was amazing for such a reasonable price for London - lovely seating area and we weren’t left waiting for ages for our food even though it was busy. The costumer service was really good, I would recommend it to anyone and would definitely go again!
