Staff were very welcoming and friendly.
Menu had a lot of choice although the drinks list lacks any information on what is suitable for vegans.
Service was a tad lacking, we never got offered desserts or coffee & it took a while to get someone’s attention to get the bill.
Nice meal, value is always an issue on the south bank so not really their fault, service was really poor, surly and unhelpful. But I think this was our particular server and not in evidence amongst the other staff.
Busy but good food and nice place to stop off for a coffee and a snack.
Christmas turkey dry and lukewarm, sweet potato fries dry and lukewarm. Tasted and felt as if they had been sitting around for a while. Accompaniment really tasty - red cabbage, bacon and fillings in burger bun. Overall OK and good value for money but wouldn’t have again
Love giraffe as great range of choice on menu. Not expensive. Easy to book outdoors table. Service OK but a bit slow but we were there at busy time.
In spite of negative comments will definitely go again
Very nice experience. The setting right next to the Thames is great.
Very nice venue to have a coffee and a meal in, despite the COVID-19 restrictions. I was there at 10:30am and it was very quiet. The service was exceptional, and my meal came remarkably quickly. The food tasted very nice, and was well cooked and pretty hot, given the cold weather. Portions were generous for a breakfast/brunch. The coffee was also excellent.
The staff were friendly and efficient, and produced the bill very quickly when asked.
In all, a lovely venue right by the South Bank Embankment, and well worth stopping off at for a single or family meal.
Brilliant service. Good food. Lovely buzzy atmosphere
This late lunch appointment was booked as it was a convenient location for our 2 tours of London spaces out throughout the day.
The variety of food/drink on the menu was very good & posed a selection headache for me.
The atmosphere, ambience & service was fantastic
We had a fantastic lunch, food was lovely fast and good quality. Very family friendly
Great food, great service, very happy - thank you!
Excellent customer service by the whole team on what was a difficult night, Halloween. The staff did an amazing job, keeping all of the customers safe and ensuring that everyone had a good evening. Well done to all.
Seated on a table labelled "clean and ready to use" which we then cleaned ourselves using hand sanitiser and napkins. Scanned a QR code on the table and ordered and paid for food ourselves. Waitresses brought the food and drinks over but "service charge" was a bit fiery for the level of service we received. Food wasn't great, some of it cold, some overcooked. Bit disappointed really. Kids enjoyed the crayons....
Food was tasty but not piping hot. Didn’t help that the weather was awful and we were sat by the door so it got cold quickly.
The food was really nice but I felt the portions could have been a bit bigger given the price. Overall I'd recommend.
The staff took over 30 mins to take our order - However, I understand it was a busy night.
Tapas starters a huge disappointment. All fried and with same dip. Very badly done.
Very noisy in the restaurant
Had a good experience here during half term it was busy but we expected that, we tried to order our food on the app But after waiting for our drinks for some time we checked with the waiter and it hadn’t registered but they were very quick to come over and take our order in person. We then tried to pay when leaving on the app but that too wouldn’t work so pay the old-fashioned way!
We had a bottomless brunch sat outside, were shown to our table and the heated lamps were great, roaring hot though but the guys turned them down so we were kept warm but not boiling. Bottomless prosecco was definitely bottomless as we only had to ask for a top up once. Food tasty and quick service.
Would definitely choose Giraffe Southbank for a bottomless brunch again.
Great service and great place would
Definitely go again x
Staff are amazing. Food is well priced as are the drinks.
Everything feels rather deep fried / greasy / stale. I ordered food for my daughter and I have to say the food for children was really sub-par with no focus on health as all the food was (as mentioned before) really greasy. Ended up only giving her a little fruit and then fed her when we got home.
However the location, staff and ambience was great it’s just such a shame the food let it down so much.
Normally I love giraffe but this was not a great experience. We were having dinner for my birthday and chose giraffe because you could book outdoors. The food was fine but the service was not great - we were made to feel like an inconvenience and that it was annoying to have to serve guests rather than feeling welcomed.
Food was okay, we ordered a chicken starter - it was pink and cold in the middle. The manger told me he could change it but it wasn’t raw.
Food was poor - not fresh - lacked taste and flavour. Had to send back.
Mango sorbet looked like frozen yogurt- had to send back
We were looked after so well by the staff. The vegan options were great (they used to be more but obviously with COVID, I understand they have to have a reduced menu. Even so, it's great to have proper vegan options). My non vegan friend went for the veggie options which she was equally pleased with. We had a table at the window offering nighttime views of South Bank lit up with pretty lights. The staff were attentive without being annoying, the restaurant are obviously being COVID safe and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. It was the perfect place to catch up with a friend and have great food and great wine in a great atmosphere. Thanks, everyone!
The restaurant was good with good service and food quality.
I definitely recommend it to my friends and family
Breakfast was lovely. Coffee was great. Service was average, not very friendly or inviting.
Staff on the floor were polite, courteous and efficient. Food was great except we had to send some food back due to it arriving cold. The atmosphere was great and we’d felt safe as people were spaced out - until a staff member seated a party of 3 right behind us and I was back to back with a stranger. There were plenty of other free tables. If you’re not worried about being seated too close to people then it’s a lovely place. We won’t be going back for a while though....
Food wasn’t that great to be honest. Ok for burgers 🍔 though. Not much available in terms of drinks.
4 of us went to lunch at Giraffe on Saturday. The waitress who served us was quite abrupt and hardly welcoming. It felt like we were annoying her by being there. The food was okay - I ordered the nachos but they were quite disappointing. Overall a pleasant experience but if I were going to South Bank for lunch again it won’t be here.
I had the veggie brunch which had a very tasty vegan sausage, and the avocado smash was so good with just the right amount of chilli kick
Partner and I had dinner
Staff were so helpful and really went out of their way to make us and our children feel welcome
Love the accommodating services from the waiters and the chef kitchen staff. Good to be remembered and given extra requirements, just so grateful for getting a good warm sage meal to eat with friends on a Sunday night so 'late' these days/in this climate time we're in atm! Sunday evening last customers Southbank London Sunday 4th October 2020
The food was average in taste. Presented well and good portion sizes. We were seated in a booth right next to another table, so they were back to back with us. Seems to defeat the point of being otherwise decent with covid procedures, if you’re set right next to other people, even though the restaurant wasn’t full. Staff were very friendly, with exception of one. Overall, it was an ok experience. Don’t reckon I’ll go back.
Roof was leaking right on our table and food seemed to be microwaved as it was cold in parts and piping hot in others.
Another good experience at the Southbank Giraffe ,good ,friendly service, good food ,reasonable prices
Really nice great for kids. Helpful staff. Busy though, definitely book
Not a great place to eat out. Not sure why it is so popular as food is like canteen food
Everyone and everything was perfect! We will definitely return! Thank you!
