Finally went for our anniversary after living in the area for 6 years. It was everything all the hype made it out to be. Will definitely go back and soon.
This was the first time Girl and the Goat has done brunch. Stephanie Izard and her team knocked it out of the park. The 5 dish pre-fix set up was perfectly portioned and timed. There were some interesting combinations that I would not have typically ordered, but I’m glad I tried them because they were delicious. They are rotating the brunch menus every Sunday, so we’ll definitely be back to see what else they have up their sleeve.
We were very impressed with their execution of CDC standards. Service was excellent and food was amazing. Ambience was very modern. We are looking forward to another experience. Thank you
Both food and service were great! I've not had a bad meal here.
Amazing food and service.
Food was great, but all courses were brought out at the same time, cold, raw, and hot dishes.
Always a treat. Order the 🥦
LOVED the shareable plates, would definitely recommend 2 plates per person, the salmon poke was probably my favorite and our server was very helpful
Some creative plates, others less so. Could've been covid, but just didn't seem like the menu was on point.
Service was prompt, restaurant was clean, all members of staff were following safety protocols.
2nd time there. Food and service were good. With Covid distancing was good
waiter always had mask on.
Disappointing point was the special was gone and we were there at 5pm.
I understand that in the Covid era supplies may be low, but why advertise a special that is gone at 5pm?
Drinks and desserts were good and pork shoulder was good.
Had cauliflower appetizer which was really good.
Will still go back as food is very good
Absolutely fantastic food and cocktails. We split 6 shared plates between 4 people (plus one dessert), and it was plenty. The green beans are out of this world, as are the rest of the plates we got. I would suggest getting at least one plate from each section (appetizers, seafood, meat). Worth the hype!
Outstanding as usual. We love this place and are grateful to the servers and everyone there for a spectacular first meal out for us since the first shelter in place. We are so full of gratitude!
We enjoyed a lovely evening on the patio feeling safely distanced from other guests. The staff politely asked us to wear our masks as we walked to the table and our server was mindful to stand away from the table.... now to the food!
Delicious, beautiful flavor and attention to detail in each preparation. Our favorites were the crab rangoon squash blossom and the pan roasted halibut. We enjoyed a lovely Savior cabernet blend that paired nicely with our small bite orders.
So refreshing to enjoy dining out again during this pandemic.
We came to celebrate a birthday and had a fabulous experience. The ambiance and service are great, and the food will not disappoint! Highly recommend!
This is our second time in Chicago and we had to come back to the Girl & The Goat, the food here is just on another level. Menu is different and they really go above and beyond with food creativity. Everything is always so tasty you want to scrape it off the plate.
Every morsel put in front of me exploded with flavor and mind blowing deliciousness. I highly recommend the sautéed green beans and pork shank.
Amazing food and service. This was a birthday dinner for my wife and they made it amazing.
Great food and place!
It was below average. They’re not adapting to covid and dining restrictions well. Their seating capacity is pretty weather related, so adjust accordingly. We’re all adults, we understand the current pandemic, if you don’t have the seating available call an hour or two before and cancel the reservation. Don’t act like the guest has a problem when they arrive to the restaurant.
I loved that the seating was spaced out, before I always felt like I was sitting on top of the table next to me. Having one more room between tables made the experience even more enjoyable!
Go go go right away with no delay
Delicious as always!
Good food ! But due to covid AC was off so it was hot inside. Great service overall
Everything at Girl and Goat was phenomenal! The food was gorgeous and delicious!! And the front of house staff was so gracious and hospitable. One of our favorite places in the city!
Fantastic!! As usual. Delicious, friendly. Our favorite restaurant
Has to be in the top 10 disappointments I have ever had at a restaurant. The food was mediocre. The service was pretentious. We could not have been more unhappy with what was supposed to be a great restaurant. There are certainly challenges in today’s world and restaurants are especially impacted. But even if the food was a disappointment there is no excuse for the service, both at the front door and server. I hate it when people act like they are doing you a favor by taking care of you and doing their job.
It was 92 degrees outside and incredibly humid, we had reservations and sat indoors and the ac was not running, we were sweating through our clothes and extremely uncomfortable the entire time, almost ruining the experience. Food was wonderful, but nobody from the restaraunt acknowledged the intense heat and humidity that the wait staff and clientele had to suffer through. All windows were shut and it was extremely uncomfortable for women and men, no circulation. Food was amazing though, it’s too bad.
There is no wow factor. Food is very good but not great.
Great Job Girl & the Goat! This was one of my first times dining out since COVID and it was a wonderful experience. Everyone wore masks, gloves, and kept their distance. The food was great and loved the add ins of local in-season ingredients! Thanks for making us feel safe.
Me & the lady went out for a nice little date night. Everything went smooth from start to finish with our reservation. They even bring your food out to you from lightest to heaviest which I liked. We got the shrimp & gotham greens salad... FIRE! We got the goat empanadas... AMAZING!!! & we also got the Kalbi style short ribs... ON POINT!! For dessert we got the caramel corn & malt balls & the Berries & creme which were both equally SUPERB! It was also very comforting that all the employees were wearing masks & everyone was spread apart. I’m definitely going back without hesitation
Good food. Great service but SO HOT INSIDE it made it difficult to enjoy our food.
Too hot inside restaurant- no air
Girl and the Goat is a spectacular restaurant and like all restaurants in the city, they are having to make changes that effects the experience. They deserve our support. They are doing a good job in difficult times and when we go back to normal they will be flawless again, no doubt!
Outstanding, amazing, one of a kind. Definitely worth it for a date night or special occasion with unique food and ambiance. 10/10
Food was great - ordered the crab rangoon, halibut and branzino. Everything tasted great - one minor issue was that the skin on branzino fish was overcharred. We were celebrating a birthday and got dessert on the house as a special treat. We expected to be seated outside but got only inside seating.
Mis handling of a reservation and being verbally attacked by a random waiter ruined the evening. Unprofessional and indifferent interaction.
Dismissive managers of the situation and careless handling of customers makes it difficult to support this local restaurant. Specially when there are many more that need support.
A $250+ dinner for two people was ruined by lack of respect and care.
The food was really good!
But due to the poor customer service will not be returning.
Vibe inside is rather boring since it's "Covid" guidelines. Much better during normal times. Food is great but extremely small portions for the prices charged. Have been to this restaurant multiple times and feel the portion size has gotten smaller than during my past visits.
Everything absolutely a mouth watering delight!
Loved the mixture of flavors and variety of choices. It was absolutley delicious!
Went here for husband’s birthday dinner. Glad they were open during this pandemic! I liked the safety measures they took to make sure everyone was alright.
