Good Earth - Mill Hill
I have been here before and it's been wonderful however wouldn't go on a Friday.
They couldn't wait to get our order, serve the food and gave us our. Restaurant had excessive tables which meant everyone was cramped and disturbing each other to get in/out.
The staff was under pressure but still very courteous; thank you!
Food was lacklustre and quite expensive for what was served.
Delicious food and excellent service. Good Earth continues to delight.
We enjoyed the place and food and wine and service A good and varied menu. The only criticism is that the tables are too close together and table should be removed so a more spacious feel and privacy
Have been here a few times. The last visit was over 1 year ago.
Service is fine and staff pleasant.
Food quality has changed since last visit, and was not to our expectation. However I can not say this for the entire menus. It could be the chicken dishes we ordered were not satisfactory. Singapore noodles was great.
Will try again in a few months.
Nice food ...small portions & very expensive! When you order a dish for a table of 4 you expect there to be at least enough for 4 ??
The food is absolutely lovely so fresh, can’t wait to come again.
We have been coming here for 38 years!!! Food is fabulous and the staff are lovely, friendly and efficient
Well for consistent service and quality the Good Earth at MillHill takes a prize. We have been dining
there for over 20 years and you still know what to expect!!!
It could be improved with some additions /deletions to the menu which has now stayed the same
for I think 5 years - please more Sichuan/Hunan dishes.
Good food and service. My only complaint is how small the dining area is as you can feel as the tables are quite close to each other but that wouldn’t stop me going there.
Lucy time so only 3 tables taken. Food lovely all hot.
We came as a group for dinner for the first time and as we walked in, the restaurant looked very nice and had a great ambiance. The service was excellent, everyone was polite and the service was fast. We ordered a couple of dishes in which the quality was very good. The only improvement is the portions can be more generous especially for the price, and some dishes can have stronger flavour (stronger garlic flavour on a garlic infused dish, stronger red bean flavour on the red bean crepe, for example), they tend to be on the lighter side. The restaurant is a little noisy but that did not stop us from having a good meal. Overall, we really enjoyed the meal and the only thing that would stop us going often is the price as it is on the higher end of the market.
Food is delicious and service is really good. The dishes are perfect size to share or eat all for yourself. There are lots of options from chicken, fish, vegetarian, beef and pork dishes. Be careful not to over order on the starters as it’s so easy to do and try to save room for the toffee apples at the end which are delicious! Great place to visit with family or friends!
The food is nice but nothing overly special to warrant the price they charge. The staff were polite and friendly but twice tried to start clearing our table when we were still eating our main meal. I am afraid to say this is not a restaurant we will be returning to.
Amazing overall as always . My favourite place to eat with friends and family
We had a lovely experience, the service was great , very polite and friendly. The food was great really tasty and brought to our table very quick. I find the prices on the high side because the food is good but not excellent to charge these prices. My only criticism is the tables are quite small and way too close to the other tables. It feels you’re sitting with the guys next to you..
Delicious food! Great service with attention to detail. Everything tasted freshly made and was a wonderful sharing experience
A busy, noisy place with the table packed very close together.
We waited an hour after ordering for our starters to arrive.
When they did finally appear they were excellent, but trying to order another round of drinks to go with them was a challenge!
It then took about 10 minutes from start to finish for our main course dishes to all arrive at the table.
The staff seemed far more interested in filling their take away orders, judging by the number of bags appearing from the kitchen & they were clearly too busy to worry about polite, friendly service.
A disappointing experience where the above average food failed to make up for the appalling service.
We won’t go back, next time we will order a take away!
I have been coming to Good Earth, Mill Hill since I was young and it has always maintained that 'treat' status. Yes it is expensive but in my mind and that of my father's (who lives around the corner), it is worth it. We are warmly welcomed by the owner each time who is always pleased to see us, as we are him. I cannot speak highly enough of the excellent staff and the food is delicious. My father, myself and my son all come here for our individual family birthday dinners (I live in Wimbledon!). It was my son's 12th birthday recently and they made a real fuss, which was a lovely extra touch and tantamount to the family feel of this place and how much they value your custom.
Quite small portions and expensive but otherwise good food and service.
I think this is the best Chinese food in North London. Food is consistently good and the staff are very attentive and efficient.
We had a lovely night at the Good Earth. The food was outstanding it came to the table hot and so fresh. The staff were efficient and friendly . This is s must to go back to, but have to save up.
The restaurant was buzzing and for good reason! Really delicious food served promptly with a good range of vegetarian options. We started with the vegetarian spring rolls which were delicious and then tried a couple of the 'mock chicken' dishes which were really lovely too. Super smiley staff and great atmosphere. Would definitely go back!
This was simply the best Chinese meal we’ve ever eaten .
Have not had a bad neal there. We have been eating there for more than 15years!
Very accommodating with vegetarians, great tasting food and service. Quite pricey but worth it!
Ridiculously salty food and have had an upset stomach since the meal
We felt that the quality of the griddled beef dish had slipped from previous visits. What a shame. Very noisy too for a Wednesday night. Some large, party tables and particularly noisy children need to be reminded by FOH managers that the other diners would like to eat without screaming noise levels.
The good was very good, a little expensive though. Service was excellent and the food arrived hot.
We love Good Earth Mill Hill and go very often. The staff and management are hands on an always ready to help.
Amazing food and a great service. It's is a little pricey but its reflected in the god quality
The best food I've had in London. I've genuinely travelled around but for some reason this restaurant has always been a favourite. Quality over quantity, I highly recommend.
While the food was reasonable. The tables were too close together. The wine was way too expensive and didn't find two hours long enough for a leisurely dining out experience on a Saturday evening. We were rushed. The waiting staff kept asking were we finished after an hour.
Always a great night here. The food is very good and the service is always exceptional, orders are taken efficiently and food and drinks are served promptly.
Lovely menu. Excellent service. Delicious food. Great wine. Tables a little too close together & quite noisy conversations from larger tables. Overall very good.
Excellent as ever - one of the best Chinese in London.
Outstanding food amazing quality.
Lovely friendly service.
I will be visiting this place again no doubt
Expensive local chinese. Food can be bland sometimes. Today was a good day. The menu needs changing: it has been the same for ages!
Expensive but food was lovely, staff were friendly,a little noisy though
Fabulous Chinese food of very high quality and great for family dining. Went early Monday evening this week and was surprised at how buzzing it was, all adding to a bubbly and cheerful throng. Best Chinese restaurant for miles around.
It would have been an excellent report however, for some reason, our dessert took forever to arrive and we had to chase it at least four times. Just as we eventually cancelled our dessert, it finally made it to the table. A shame as otherwise it would have been a perfect evening. I would not let this put you off as the service otherwise was excellent. I will definitely return.
