We managed to get a late booking via OpenTable app and had a very pleasant lunch.
Great to be eating out again.
Was super excited to try this restaurant as I am a huge fan of the Gordon Ramsay! However, the food was really average...super small portions and the sauce additions were two spoons total...I was underwhelmed. In addition, we asked to be moved to a free table many times. We were told "yes, absolutely", but the table remained free.
The food was below par for what we would expect from a Gordon Ramsey restaurant. We specially booked this as it was our first time eating out since the lockdowns began.
The pork belly had a strange aftertaste, the pork and ginger gyozas seemed undercooked and didn’t have any flavour. We waited about 40 minutes for the gyozas which our waitress seemed to have forgotten we had ordered. We were meant to have the steak but after the disappointing snacks and starters we just shared a burger and a bao. These were ok. The best part of the meal was the chips. Additionally, the place wasn’t busy but the staff seemed overwhelmed and disorganised. Disappointing experience overall - would not recommend.
I mean three amazing courses for £31 is simply an unbeatable deal. Amazing food, top-notch service and a great atmosphere. What's not to love?
Mmmm...... firstly the restaurant has the strangest entrance-you arrive and think you are there but its another restaurant-Gordon Ramsey’s is on the right through a very narrow door.
Now this is an usual time and normally if something was ok-which this place was I wouldn’t leave a review but this is Gordon so I figure he wouldn’t hold back so neither will I.
It’s trying to be a kind of cool upmarket New York diner but it just doesn’t work for me( and I use to run a cool Upper Eastside NY Diner. The food was ok but nothing special and the atmosphere was subdued because of these horrible lockdowns but even accounting for that this place lacks personality. I could imagine in normal times on a thurs/fri it being busy with younger people and it might be OK but in these times it feels dull and uninteresting. Service was good but thats not the problem nor is it the food-it’s just bland and uninspiring and frankly the decor is basic bordering on tasteless-I’m sure whoever designed it was given a decent budget so do a better job. The whole place needs a much bigger personality which is surprising given who’s name is on the front!
The food was alright, service on the other hand was exceptional.
Great place to eat in the city. Short notice booking and they manage to accommodate us.
Amazing food!!!!!
Amazing food
Most dishes were good or even excellent but we were underwhelmed by one of them. Very good wine list. Services on the day was not great. Still a good relaxed atmosphere.
A nice meal if a little salty. Needed lots of water afterwards. Was probably expecting more from GR...
Perfect Sunday lunch 👌🏻
Restaurant was lovely in a nice area and location. Service was very good and attentive. Went with my girlfriend and her pasta had to be sent back as was not hot. This was done very quickly. Steak was cooked perfectly but the parma chicken was very average. Restaurant was quiet at 4:30pm and only one other couple in the restaurant and had a good selection of wine. Have had better experiences for the price so would probably not return.
Music loud , but food is good.
18th Birthday
The staff brought out an extra dessert with a candle and Happy Birthday message.
Fabulous service, did not feel rushed at any point, able to relax between courses and the food was fantastic

Kids meals was inedible the restaurant was too dark. The food was extremely below what I was expected
Steak was flavourless, the sea bream was tasteless
For £250 I got a experience that was extremely overpriced
Well not be returning again
Eaten in a few Ramsay restaurants before and have always been impressed. No idea what The Mayfair bar & grill is trying to achieve, but it’s truly as bad a restaurant as I’ve been in for a while.
Food is average and expensive for what it is, but the real issue is the place itself.
The restaurant area kept filling up with smoke from the kitchen, it’s laid out like a slightly up market greasy spoon and it even has huge plasma screens with football playing on the walls of the restaurant.
It was best described as a mad Ramsey meets Wetherspoons fusion!!!
Please, go anywhere else except here.
Great food and friendly service, thanks!

Service seemed quite slow at times.
We stood in the entrance for a while when various waiting staff saw us, did not acknowledge us at one point, one of the staff told us the restaurant on the other side of the hallway was closed. I tried to explain that we had a reservation but the staff had left before I could say anything. I then entered the restaurant wearing a mask and my partner stood behind me in the entrance. We had been standing g for 5 minutes at least and my partner had lowered his mask as we were the only two in the hallway. An Italian waiter flared at us and shouted, mask. And then rolled his eyes and walked off.
I was beginning to think at this point that we ought to turn around and leave but I had eaten here before and had a much different experience. Then a young lady finally acknowledged us and I explained I had a reservation and she seemed surprised.
It was 1350 and my table was booked for 2pm. I explained we were hoping to have a bottle of champagne before our meal.
We were sat on the smallest table possible and our champagne arrived. We had to pour it ourselves after the first glass and despite my asking if we would could drink the champagne and order in a bit, three times they came to take our order.
I ordered at 2:05pm and finished our two courses by 2:30.
No one came to ask us if we wanted anything else to drink and when I asked for the bill I asked for the service to be removed.
An American lady sat next to me remarked how awful the service was and how she had been left to stand outside for 15 minutes.
Our waitress was polite but the rest of the waiting staff, I found to be haughty and rude.
I did not feel welcome and I did not have a nice experience.
I spent £129 for two of us and wish I had gone somewhere else.
Gordon Ramsey needs to look closer to home before he starts telling others how to run a successful restaurant.
If service continues like this he will be out of business in no time.
I was very disappointed and sorry that during Covid times I had given my money to him.
Awful decor. Awful food. Service was poor
Felt like we were in burger king to start with and waitress terrible too. But moved tables and they redeemed themselves and had lovely lunch after wanting to walk out to start with
Service was super slow, we waited to order for a long time then between starters and mains again a very long wait. Crazy considering service charge 12.5%
Burger is pricey considering it doesn’t come with chips and the only veg on there is a couple of slices of pickles.
Cauliflower steak is a joke, too little sauce and seasoning that barely covered the outside, once you cut through it it’s just bland cauliflower for an expensive price.
Very disappointed and would not come back.
Great food. My teenagers really enjoyed the food a great way to end a shopping day out in Oxford street
Food was amazing !
Ordered the Tomahawk expecting it to be good - extremely chewy. Offered an alternative steak but this was no better. When there are great steak restaurants all over London there is no need to visit here. In addition the waiter pulled the wool over one of our guest's eyes suggesting an alternative to the house glass of wine which came in at double the price of the one ordered which left a sour taste.
Good value quiet casual
Staff attentive and were great accommodating my food requirements as following keto diet .
Lovely wait staff, menu looked great but the dishes were pretty disappointing apart from the steak and the cauliflower steak. Special mention to the minuscule chicken wings that were the same size as the lime wedge that accompanied them - so tiny it was crazy. Felt like an airport lounge due to lack of atmosphere, terrible euro house music, which also repeated songs, and awful decor which managed to be both bland and tasteless. Disappointing experience, definitely won’t go back.
Service was very slow, staff at first was not as welcoming and not attentive. We have to pay for bread and thought that it would come in a basket with assortment of roles like most restaurants do, it was 5 miserable slices of bread for £4 there were 6 of us.
When booking was first made I had enquired about Halal Options and was told they serve USDA meat which are halal I had the impression that all their meat are USDA but when we arrived there was only 1 choice of USDA Ribeye steak so we had no choice but to order that as there rest of the beef cuts were not halal. Menu was extremely limited
I would have cancalled my reservation and go somewhere else in London with more Halal option had I known that this was the case.
The waiter's demeanour was abrupt and not welcoming at all perhaps it's a cultural thing.
Hello SafiahV, Thank you very much for taking the time to leave us your review. We take your feedback seriously. We do our utmost best to cater to every dietary requirement wherever possible, and we also make our menu available online for viewing prior to your booking, in order to make an informed choice. At present we do Rib-eye and Sirloin from the USDA selection. I sincerely hope you give us another try in the future. Kindest regards Bar & Grill Mayfair Team
Disappointing ambiance nothing, food nothing to write home about would not revisit
Steak. Yes
Lobster Roll. Yes.
Mac’n’Cheese. YES!!
Amazing staff, so friendly. Quick service, and most of all amazing food. Already planning my next visit.
The food was amazing, the service flawless and the price was perfect
Hello RashidaZ, Thank you very much for taking the time to leave us a 5-star rating. We are very happy to read that you thought the food was amazing and service flawless, with good value for money. We look forward to your next visit. Many thanks Bar & Grill Mayfair Team
Pretty disappointing. Starters (gambas) were quite good, well balanced flavours and presented well although prawns could be a tad bit fresher. It's the steaks that were shockingly poor. Not a drop of blood on a medium rare. Much closer to well done. Lunch partner ordered medium well and his steak came out alright, although still a bit of the dry side. Meat itself was fine but I would not bother coming back. It's really unforgiveable for a steak & grill place to mess up something so basic so badly, even more so when you're charging £40 for a ribeye.
Went for the Love London menu, which turned out to be a very limited choice, so went for the fish and chips. The fish was excellent, but spoiled by the chef putting too much salt on the chips prior to service. Unfortunate, but quickly replaced when brought to the attention of the staff.
Ambience of a bus shed
Food really was not good - steaks despite the price were not tender or especially tasty
Staff were nice but really the food wasn’t up to it
