Food was good - it was a pity that we didn’t get to enjoy tea service and were told it ended at 5pm (our reservation was at 6pm and made almost two months before). Nobody acknowledged it was our anniversary either even though we clearly indicated that on the reservation.

Lovely afternoon tea however, service was appallingly slow. It was 40 mins before we were served our afternoon tea and then a further 20 minutes to wait for our drinks order. Not what we’ve come to expect from Trump Turnberry sadly .

Having had afternoon tea here previously, we were disappointed to be placed in the bar area, with families and those having normal lunches and drinks. It was noisy. Our tablecloth had an obvious stain on it before we sat down. The service was pleasant but we had to wait some time to attract the attention of staff to get the scones. I believe we were charged for two pots of tea each instead of a free top up. In addition, it was my friend’s and my birthdays - staff actually mentioned this- and we did not receive the ‘’Happy Birthday’’ plate that my husband received on our previous visit in August. Overall a bit underwhelming and not to the standard I had previously experienced.

Afternoon tea was delicious with a fantastic selection of luxury items. Service was great except when we had finished and ready to leave. Took a long time to manage to get anyone to get our bill for us. Otherwise what a way to spend an afternoon having tea. Price was rather high for the food served but not the atmosphere.

Very friendly staff. Slight wait to be welcomed when we arrived and sometimes difficult to catch the server’s attention. The staff came over several times to make sure everything was ok though. The decor is very tasteful and the view magnificent. The furniture was clean but needing a little tlc (scratches etc.) Food was very good, nothing that stood out like in some other international 5 star hotels but overall very good and we would definitely go back. We left a tip in cash and realised after leaving that there was a discretionary tip added to the bill that we hadn’t noticed. The staff deserve their tips though as they did make sure that we had everything that we needed.

A special treat of an afternoon tea in wonderful surroundings with a fabulous view. To be honest, there was such a good selection of sandwiches, scones and cakes on the cake-stand, I struggled to eat everything. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. Staff were very pleasant and attentive. A very relaxing and enjoyable couple of hours.

Overall very good but three points. The background music was dreadful. It went from what sounded like whale music to 'plinky plonk' piano music. Not classical music or piano versions of songs just random noise. Please either pick a recognisable genre of music or don't play any. Staff, whilst lovely when you spoke to them, were hard to find. There were 4 one minute then none for 10 minutes. Leaving one on hand at all times to greet/accept payment from customers would be a better system. Lastly I almost felt I had to intervene when an American guest asked for light Scottish beer. To which they got the response, Peroni, Menabrea or Budweiser. None of which are Scottish. Had I been serving the customer I would have suggested an Innis & Gunn original or an Arran Blonde. At a push a Brewdog Punk IPA or Lost Lager. All genuine Scottish craft beer. The customer was very disappointed that the only beer on offer was something he could buy from virtually any liquor store in the United States. Considering you can see Arran from the window I'm assuming that it wouldn't that difficult to stock some of their excellent beer. Or if importing it from Arran(as opposed to Italy) is a bit too far then the Ayr Brewery is just up the road. Staff can't be expected to be experts on everything but surely they should be trained to know the difference between Italian, Scottish and American beer. The tricolore, stars and stripes and saltires on the bottles might be a bit of a clue.

This was an expensive afternoon tea but nice for a special treat and by far the best venue in the area! The range of tea was impressive, the food was fabulous and the service was outstanding. I would highly recommend the Grand Tea Lounge.

They did not have our booking so we were seated in a poor location. We desired to be seated near the window and have a tablecloth and silverware settings. They were reserved for “the guests with a booking “ which we had and demonstrated to 4 of the staff. Nothing special was offered. Good came out all at once vs starter then main.

We were welcomed into the Grand Tea Lounge and seated by the window overlooking the lawns and golf course - a beautiful view! The after noon tea itself was delicious and more than sufficient. The service was helpful efficient and speedy. We could not have asked for better. It made a most enjoyable afternoon for me to celebrate my birthday.

Stunning surroundings, perfect service. Mixed experience with the food though. I had the Salmon Benedict and Pear Tart, both outstanding. However, my husbands Steak burger was overdone and dry with a burnt brioche. I would have expected better here. It wont stop us coming back though.

It is a beautiful hotel. Ambience and decor were great. Lovely table and sea views. Food was average for prices charged and service was a bit mixed. Greeting and leaving staff were lovely. I added a 10% tip to the bill only to then realise that a 10% service charge had already been added.

We really enjoyed being at Trump Turnberry, we've been several times. The food was really special and the champagne was wonderful. They dropped three stars for service because we had to ask three different members of staff for a soft drink for my son and eventually got it after he'd finished his food. Staff were not very attentive eg asking us if we needed anymore tea or if everything was okay.There were too many flies around us and the food as well as on the windows. My husband got locked in the toilet because the door handle fell off so he had to shout and bang on the door until someone else was in the toilet to let him out. Another member of staff came into the gents washroom and reported the repair immediately.

In the past, I often went for afternoon tea at Turnberry· It was always magnificent. It isn't magnificent now. When we arrived, the girl on the desk seemed unable to find our reservation which wasn't very welcoming. I had it on my phone. The young girl who served us was very unsure. We said no coronation chicken vol au vent and suggested maybe mushroom as an alternative. She said this would not come warm, which is unusual. In fact, it was warm and very tasty. The tea trolley is no more sadly, and my friend asked for a specific tea with lemon - the lemon came in the teapot which seems unusual. The waitress hovered while we were eating, which was slightly uncomfortable. Maybe some training. However, she was a nice girl and doing her best. Overall, the experience was just OK. All my life, I have loved Turnberry. Perhaps the 'grand tea lounge' needs a little tlc?

The staff were so friendly and professional, and we could not have been made more welcome. The afternoon tea was delicious! We had the choice of many different teas. The savoury snacks were very special - with quite unexpected combinations which worked really well. The cakes were just amazing! We couldn't quite eat everything and the staff kindly packaged up the leftovers. The views over Ailsa Craig, Arran, Turnberry Lighthouse and of course, the golf course, were fantastic.
