Although we have this lovely list, we are always happy to chat about whisky at the bar and help find a style that will suit you. All the bottles have the price per Dram on display. We use private preserve on any whisky over £10. This is an odourless gas which stops the whisky from oxidising - Yes, It does work. We have done several experiments. Everything tasted very good and the service was excellent. The only reason I put 4 stars was that I ordered the Duo of Pork and it came with only the pork belly. The pork cheek was completely missing. I wondered if they ran out until the table next to us both ordered the same and theirs had the pork cheek on the plate. Bummer!

Quality of food was very good although portion size too big for the richness of the dish that I ordered. Spotlight above our table was flickering but didn’t detract too much from our experience.

We chose this for my partners 30th and it was lovely! The staff were all friendly, kind and hospitable. We really Enjoyed our meal here and the food was also excellent!

Food was okay. The restaurant itself felt more like a hotel breakfast room with little atmosphere. Staff were friendly. The bar was overwhelmed with orders being run by what seemed inexperienced/new staff. Wait time to be served a drink was long. Overall we were a bit underwhelmed by the night.

Food is always amazing, fantastic steaks & langoustines. I have been about 6 times in the last few months for dinner and always have a fabulous time. Grant is underrated in my opinion, he’s doing a fantastic job.

Having eaten at the hotel a few times in the past (also had our wedding here) went back for our anniversary lunch.. as was unable book a room to stay, am now so glad we were not staying as very disappointed with the food and choice for lunch, service was excellent just felt the food was overpriced and a bit bland... certainly will not be rushing back again

The starter of the day chanterelles on toast was delightful, but everything else was underwhelming. It was very noisy, needs some sound absorption.

Disappointing for children, and over-priced. Waiting staff were good but kitchen staff were not. There are no starters on the kids menu so I asked if I could have some cucumber sticks or a couple of tomatoes or any vegetable for the kids to have while we ate our starters, but the kitchen said no because they had no spare vegetables! This was night 10 of a tour of Scotland and every other restaurant had accommodated this request if they didn’t have starters for kids. It didn’t seem an unreasonable request and I made it clear I was willing to pay. The food looked and tasted good but it was very over-priced (£40 for a small sirloin and 3 langoustine surf and turf) compared with all of the other places we stayed, and no better in taste or quality.

The venue was nice and welcoming and the food was good. We did ask for a starter as a main dish but it still came as a starter size. Our drinks order was forgotten and we had to remind the staff; the drinks only arrived once we were half way through our meal. We weren't offered another drink at all even though it was obvious we didn't have one after finishing the first. Overall, the service was really disappointing and spoiled our enjoyment of the evening.

I’ve eaten at a few Michelin star restaurants and the quality of the food was on par!! Only thing was service a bit latchy when we arrived and forgot drink order twice!

Lovely meal with good service. The food was delicious and very well presented. I had chicken terrine to start followed by the beetroot risotto. Both dishes were exceptional. My husband had salmon followed by the chicken dish which had a good serving of mash and sauce with it. My only minor is would have preferred the Window blinds open more as I found it a tad dark, very minor and personal preference. We will definitely be returning as most enjoyable meal out I’ve had in a while. Only took one pic of my sweet course!

The food especially is outstanding and beautifully presented as well as being fairly priced. My stay was still enjoyable despite the covid restrictions. I was still able to relax and enjoy the experience. Thank you to all staff involved. Compliments to the chef in particular.
