The menu is inspired by regional Italian cuisines, creating dishes for what is fresh on the market. With a wealth of resources from farmers, fishermen and artisans, the kitchen sources pristine ingredients for each of its dishes. The wine list is extensive serving wines from artisan producers.
This split level restaurant is beautifully decorated creating a relaxing ambiance with tables and chairs outside facing the historical garden square. A private dining area makes it perfectly suited for a private party or celebration!

Nice small restaurant attentive staff but lacked atmosphere food was tasty but not amazing
An amazing little restaurant. Service was excellent and the food was superb. The tiramisu was to die for. Will certainly return when I’m next in London.
Very nice and intimate place. Food and service was excellent.
We enjoyed our meal. It was good but not exceptional but we liked
the staff and the kind and quiet atmosphere.
Wonderful place. Great food and service. Small gem.
We went for Brunch and it was just okay. I do believe that this resto has potential and think the dinner menu may have been a better choice. A nice neighbourhood though,so was not a wasted experience.
Always a pleasure
Delicious starter. Lovely space! Menu is a little misleading but the food was good!
Great food and it’s super peaceful unless somebody is with the baby- then your dinner is ruined. This place is very small, so anything louder then a regular conversation is too much. But will be back again! The fish was just perfect!
A little gem, lovely food in a quiet location but so close to the tube station.
My crab pasta and my friend's risotto were delicious--so fresh and vibrant. The service is charming and professional.
Great little restuarant. The staff were very friendly and exceptionally helpful and attentive. We all had a starter and various pasta dishes. The flavours were excellent, although my serving could have been a bit bigger. We all enjoyed the meal immensley.
A small and very cute corner restaurant in one of the smaller South Kensington streets! The waiters were wonderful and our over all experience was superb!
Food was simple but delicious, nice combinations of flavours
Superb food, all freshly cooked to order, with home-made pasta. Short menu ensures everything is fresh and delicious. Good spot for before the proms.
Super staff who accomodated our kids different preferences and cooked them stuff not even on the menu! Friendly and fast service
Cosy family owned restaurant, in a very nice area of Kensington. Enjoyed the food, the good service and the general atmosphere of the place.
Grato is a wonderful place to dine! The food and the wine were outstanding! We had a 2 hour delay for our flight from Munich to London. I called Grato - and they still honored our reservation 2 hours later! They served us promptly and the food was outstanding. There were 5 of us and we were staying nearby, so it was very convenient to eat here. Honestly, even if we were across town - it was the kind of dining experience you would travel for. The owner is very sweet and went out of his way to make sure we were all enjoying ourselves. I truly recommend dining here!
Very small restaurant, so could get noisy when full. Very friendly staff, though & excellent overall service in a relaxed, unpretentious way.
We would definitely visit again in the future.
My favorite neighborhood place
Lovely atmosphere, great food, excellent service. Great use of small space!
Our first night in London- jet lagged and hungry, this place did not disappoint. Food was delicious and service was lovely.
Grato was fantastic. Excellent food and service. Will come back next time I am visiting London.
Delicious food, great location, and such warm & friendly service. One of our new favourite neighbourhood spots!
Had a truly delicious lunch here. Highly recommended.
Tiny space very well used. Excellent negroni. Fresh and beautifully cooked Italian food - a really great 'local Italian'.
Small- ish restaurant , nice , friendly atmosphere .
Food was fresh, tasty and well- seasoned .
Really enjoyed my tiramisu dessert !
a nice neighbourhood Italian restaurant. good food, good service, quiet and nice location with outdoor tables.
exceptional cuisine served by those who really understand the food and how its made
Great local. Very friendly service and super fresh and seasonal ingredients. We over-ordered, only because there were so many things on the menu that we wanted. My wife avoids onion and garlic and they were extremely accommodating. Will definitely go back.
LOVED THIS LITTLE RESTAURANT IN KENSINGTON. THE FOOD WAS EXCEPTIONAL! THE CRABMEAT PASTA DISH WAS DELICIOUS AND THE FISH WAS TENDER AND SO VERY YUMMY. LOVED THE BRUSCHETTA AND DELICIOUS BREAD. IT IS LOCATED IN A BEAUTIFUL QUAINT KENSINGTON NEIGHBORHOOD. WE ENJOYED SITTING BY THE WINDOW ACROSS FROM KENSINGTON GARDEN. THE OWNER MADE OUR EXPERIENCE PERSONAL AND WE LOOK FORWARD TO COMING BACK ON OUR NEXT VISIT TO LONDON.
Very laidback and relaxed atmosphere in a quiet street. Friendly staff and lovely food.
Really excellent experience. Food was amazing, especially the crab pasta! Staff were super friendly and the service was excellent. Highly recommend.
Charming Italian restaurant with amazing food with delicious flavours. Beautifully decorated and casual but cozy. Tables outside facing lush Kensington Square though we moved in when it was raining. Definitely the Burratta, Prawn salad, Chicken, Gnocchi (its not made with pasta or potatoes but spinach) and the crab taglionini were full of flavour. Great wine selection do try the frizzante red wine Gutturnino! Attentive service without being overbearing.
Big fan of small independent restaurants off the high street - this is exactly what Grato is - off Kensington High street, great ambiance and I was told it opened about 6 weeks ago! Well done I am going to be back soon.
