Really great food and the service very good too. Definitely going back.
Easy to book, efficient and friendly service and great food at a really reasonable price. A great experience.
We took advantage of the 2-for-1 offer on the fish and chips last night. Staff very pleasant but got food order wrong on one meal then the machine forgot to include the discount so we had to ask for it. Food ok.
Good value for money. Excellent fish
Amazing for a catch up with a friend I haven’t seen in so long! Was able to stay for as long as we wanted, and the staff we beyond friendly
great service, lovely fish and chip also great burger.well woryh the drive from Seaton.
We waited 20 minutes for someone to even take our order, then our food came before our drinks, and even then half our order never turned up.
We were never asked if everything was ok, and was also charged twice at the till. Very disappointed, with service.
Waited over an hour to get two breakfast’s.You can’t mix items from veggie to normal breakfast. You pay £3 more from the smaller breakfast to the bigger sized one which only gives you and extra slice of bacon and an egg. Waiting staff are poor and not very attentive.
Food was ok but service very poor. No one came to clear the table or to check everything was ok. We wanted coffee and had to go and request these at the counter. Table still uncleared so coffees wouldn’t fit!
Very few people in but very loud music as we were sat directly under a speaker
Twice in a row very bad service . First time phoned up and complained , still no better . Won’t be coming again
I booked a table inside…… when we arrived on time we were going to be taken to a table outside, however after explaining I had booked a table inside and there were at least three tables available we were shown to a table inside, eventually we had our order taken and 35 minutes later we had our food which was exceedingly disappointing, we all had fish and chips the cod was over cooked and not very hot and the chips should not of been served ( they looked and tasted as if they had been around for a while) also very few! We have eaten here before mainly breakfast which has been lovely! You were busy but we were very disappointed! Perhaps someone should check the quality of food before it is served to paying customers!
Very busy Saturday lunch time, service bit slow, but food good as always. Our regular place to eat for lunch.
Sitting out side and felt warm through out. Good view, solid food that is what the menu say it was and well presided.
Great light bite for lunch, really lovely setting. Friendly helpful staff.
With four teenagers our date nights are precious! We had a delicious meal, with the freshest of ingredients, served quickly. The service was attentive and friendly from Emilie, Tom and Lewis. We will be returning- thank you.
Thomas Biden deserves a promotion after his excellent service
Tasty ingredients cater well for families
Good choice of menu
We had a good lunch, but it was quite noisy inside and also quite chilly so kept our coats on. It would probably have been warmer outside with the heaters on and slightly easier to hear each other.
Excellent food, slow and amateur service, overpriced.
Will not return.
We are regulars at greendale I like the food and seating but sometimes the service is unbelievably slow and they don't always get your order right we always seem to be there in busy times, but last evening it was quiet and service was really great they can do it but not under pressure...
I like using the "outdoor" space. It feels safe and as long as it's not a windy day it's warm & sheltered enough to make it an enjoyable experience even in January
Food and drinks are reliably good. Staff efficient, plentiful and pleasant.
Appreciate having gluten free options.
This was our second visit to the restaurant and we were equally pleased this time too. the food was excellent and of good proportions. The service was outstanding with every one of the staff, showing signs of caring.
This is certainly one of our favourite places to eat now.
Good food quality always fresh
I never thought I would write a bad review. I’m not going to now, even thou My order was wrong. the waitress didn’t know what was included on the burger and no cutlery on the table. The one redeeming thing was the great service by Caitlin ( sorry but I think that was her name). A professional, understanding, first class front line worker. Food is always good and filling and hot
Service was slow. I noticed others being served quicker. I had the fish and chips. I have had better. The batter on the fish was bland and not crisp. The chips were limp and lacklustre. The staff were polite. Also I have beeb previously, the menu was changed with less of a choice.
A family favourite, food was cooked well with good quality produce, friendly environment, but top up your table condiments as all empty, refills were produced so all good really
I’ve been before and it was excellent on this occasion the service was very poor, the staff seemed very young and the service was very slow, it seemed an age for the food and drinks to come at a time when the restaurant was not to busy
Service was slower than usual, but food was amazing
Really enjoyed the experience and want to go again
We enjoyed a spontaneous decision to dine here on Saturday evening, and we absolutely loved it.
The ambience was cozy and tables were well spaced out. The food was beautifully cooked and presented and the staff were really friendly.
Being January, the only thing we would mention was that the temperature was a bit cooler than we would have liked. We kept our jackets on the whole time, as did most others eating. They do have a couple of heaters on as you go in but these are not really sufficient to heat the whole seating area.
Overall a lovely meal and we will definitely be returning!
I had heard good things about Greendales but it didn’t quite live up to expectations unfortunately.
I ordered Homity pie which was just mashed potato in a pie crust, the salad was basic and didn’t have a dressing, and the coleslaw was not homemade as stated on the menu.
We started chatting to an old couple on the table next to us, but suddenly music started playing so we could no longer hear what they said.
However, the young staff were friendly and attentive, the coffee was good and the table was easy to book.
It wasn’t a bad experience, just an OK one that you could get anywhere.
We usually have a good experience at Greendale. Yesterday was an exception unfortunately. We were seated next to the door with people constantly going in and out and many customers and some staff letting the door slam. The weather was atrocious and the people sat near the perspex screen had to put up with wet tables. I ordered a veggie pie and was served a meat one. On the way home my husband suggested that we were overcharged but without an itemised receipt it was impossible to check. It was a shame as our experience has been very positive up to then.
Excellent food and service. Nice, relaxed atmosphere too.
Ideal for a meal, any time of the day. The food is excellent and value for money.
Using local produce and own meat products, along with freshly caught fish, give a varied menu.
My wife and I found the food very unappealing. We both had ham, egg and chips. The ham, all two pieces were dry and looked as if it had been left uncovered in whatever container it was stored. The chips were not much better. The quality did not justify the price.
Nice food, locally sourced, could have been hotter
The food was lovely, as always, however, the service was very poor. We visited for my daughter's 4th birthday and it took ages to be served upon arrival and then a long time to receive our food, and also a long time to have our empty plates cleared away. We were going to stay for dessert, however, we were unfortunately put off by the long waiting times. We decided to grab a hot chocolate on departure as there was no one in the queue, however, even then it took nearly 15 minutes to gain 3 drinks despite 3 members of staff being behind the counter and no one else in the queue! We will return as we love Greendale, however, I would suggest improving your timeliness of service.
It was cold in the restaurant. We waited over 3/4 of an hour for our meal. The fish and chips came barely warm. The waitress did not know whether grilled as opposed to fried fish was possible. Cod was the only fish available. My meal, the last of four, came well after the others. The waiter apologised.
Rock Fish and Darts Farm provide a better fish lunch at a comparable price.
Lovely food as always.
Food was poor, service very slow and the whole bill was horribly expensive. So disappointing, no where near as good as it used to be and so expensive for poor food.
