Greendale Farm Shop Cafe and Restaurant
Once you've eaten why not take a stroll along our family farm trail. The trails follow a level path that’s just right for pushchairs and little legs where you can say hello to all of the animals, visit Oscar the curious Ostrich and maybe take our vintage tractors for an imaginary ‘test drive’.

Freshly made sandwiches with a wide selection of fillings. including chicken, bacon, ham, tuna, prawns and cheeses
Featuring goats' cheese, Smoked salmon, chicken and Ladram bay hand-picked crab all served on a bed of crisp fresh mixed-leaf salad
Met an old friend for dinner. Was served by Tegan who was friendly, attentive and polite. Had the burger with blue cheese and bacon while my friend had fish and chips. The food was out in good time and was excellent. The overall ambience was very relaxed with good lighting, music and a really nice buzz about the place. Definitely coming back.
The food in the restaurant was nice but spoilt as the Cafe was freezing cold.
Not going back until the summer!
Excellent as usual
Power cut .. the waitress explained before we sat down . It actually gave a lovely romantic feel
Lovely fish .. chips weren’t so great .. a bit cold snd felt like had been cooked before
Most enjoyable meal for our party prior to enjoying a shop for veg
Was put in terrace and was freezing asked if we could move inside as not ideal for my 84 year old mother to be told there was no tables only to see the whole time while having my food and drink go cold because it was freezing 3 tables weren't used
Staff were attentive and friendly. Food meat pie doesn't come with any gravy so meal quite dry as only other accompaniments are peas with 'chip-shop' chips. Greendale burger with bacon was good, until I found a grissly bit of meat which put me off rest of it. Will try cafe again as sandwiches delivered to other customers did look enticing.
Been here a few times now.
This time was not as good.
Music way too loud
Menu was basic and not enough choice for breakfast.
Not very warm and certainly nit as friendly today.
We will return as we know this is not as it usually is.
hi not impressed with the service , coffee not very hot , food only ok ,
Had two roasts one pork and one was apparently a vegetarian roast but both were the same price but only difference was I had Meat and my partner had no meat and an extra potato.
Not happy that their was no veggie option and wasn’t told at the table what to expect.
We were just told yes we have a vegetarian option but didn’t think that meant an extra potato.!!
Very strange to be asked to pay after ordering the main course, kind of put you off ordering pudding. The waitress was quick to take the money but forgot her manners when payment was completed.
No children’s menu for the children to read, had to guess what was on offer.
Restaurant was very cold but probably due to making sure it was ventilated.
Over all good was good and the service was quick, ideal with young hungry children.
We went to Greendale Farm Shop and Cafe with high expectations as an established farm shop. However, we left very disappointed. The farm shop is over priced and very busy. The cafe was much quieter, but the layout does not make it family friendly. When needing to change our baby, we had to leave the cafe and walk back through the shop to go to the toilets and baby changing - very impractical when you are out for brunch. The service was poor - we had just started eating when the waitress came over and asked us how we wanted to pay, and the cafe was cold with most customers sat inside eating in their coats. The meal itself was average - bread was dry and clearly a few days old, butter in little packets and lacked thought for the price they charge.
Overall a disappointing experience, and we certainly would not rush to go back.
Came to Greendale in the afternoon to have lunch without a booking today 27.11.2021 at approximately 1:45. The lady told us that no tables available for lunch at all, so I went to look online and book and not just one time slot for booking was available but 3 (2:00, 2:15 and 2:30). So I booked one and come back within 2 min to the same lady who clearly recognized us and didn’t mention anything to us, not even apologized for turning us away that table are clearly available and making herself appear incompetent.
Then, the lady took us to the table that clearly hasn’t been cleaned. Very dirty sits and sticky table with spilled tea. The lady also was looking at me while I was cleaning both table and a chair without offering to help or get us another table.
Our order was taken fast and the young girl who was taking our was lovely. We ordered two steak baguettes medium cooked. Once food has arrived the steak inside was not evenly cooked. Some parts of chopped up steak was rare and only few parts were medium cooked.
Overall, our experience at greendale was awful, not welcoming and made us feel like stuff does not care what so ever about the guests. Food was awful.
Despite booking a table, and confirming attendance when required, we had to wait while she looked to see if a table was available! Despite me pointing out that there was a table for 6 (as I had booked) marked as reserved clearly available we had to wait while she ‘sorted something out’). It was a Saturday morning so expected them to be busy but what is the point of booking and confirming if table not made ready?
Food when it arrived was up to standard luckily as this was a birthday treat for daughter (son in law and grandchildren too). Again no idea why app asks if booking is for a special occasion if no notice taken of the reply
Despite this would still recommend Greendale for coffee and cake and great breakfasts!
Unfortunately they had run out of gas for the big heater at our end of the veranda so it was cold although they did provide cost blankets
Love coming to Greendale farm shop , found it strange that we paid for food before we eaten ,sister and I had fish chips peas and my husband ham eggs and chips ,we all enjoyed our meals
Excellent food and good value. We are regular diners here.
Great value for money, lovely experience
The fish in our fish and chips had been overcooked and was dry, which is unforgivable in a place where they pride themselves on their fish counter.
The room was very cold. We had to keep our coats on to eat our meal. Service had improved since my last visit, but I am seriously wondering whether I will eat there again, which is a great shame as it’s so close to home and I have visited frequently.
Not very good in winter to cold , might be all right in high summer.
We had a breakfast yesterday morning..which was a less than good experience..we were rained on and when we asked to be moved the waitress was off hand ..how can anyone eat with rain soaking the table etc..I definitely will not come again..I shop regularly at greendale as I live locally..but the treatment we received by the waitress was appalling
Very efficient breakfast
The young staff serving are excellent, they listen and smile
As always, the quality of ingredients, as you would expect from an established farm shop, is excellent….
Good convenient place to eat with plenty of parking. The rear tables in the interior cafe are a bit gloomy but otherwise everything else was good. Nice young lad served us he was friendly and efficient. The food was served in good time and was typical cafe lunchtime fayre It was all very good and at a reasonable price.
Service was very bad unfortunately on this occasion, even though restaurant was empty
Noticed new menus had been printed & prices have gone up quite alot since last visiting :(
Great food and service. The only reason it’s four rather than five stars is when booking I requested an inside table as we had two babies with us and it was cold but were seated outside.
Very disappointed by slow service and poor customer service. It took 2 hours for 2 courses at lunchtime. Duty Manager listened to my complaints and gave a discount off the final bill. However, this situation is not new and was the same when I visited in the summer. I would have expected better now when there are less people about.
We came for Sunday lunch, the food was absolutely lovely however there did not seem to be any system what so ever within the staff. We were served by a total of 7 different people. When we finally managed to grab someone to see the dessert menu we were left waiting over 20 minutes so we just paid the bill and as we were gathering our stuff to leave that is when we were asked if we wanted any desserts, this was around 30 mins after we were given the dessert menu. The staff just seem to stand around and chat most of the time. When we went up to the cafe counter to pay they bill we were left standing there while 2 girls had a gossip. The restaurant was also very cold as a fire door was being used by staff to go from inside to outside this kept being left open even after I went to shut it. My gran sat there with her coat on and a blanket so not the most comfortable of experiences.
Disappointed as previously the food and service has been good.
We booked for Sunday lunch and they had run out of roast meals half way through service.
We waited a long time to order.
The young staff were polite but embarrassed about the lack of roast meals and appeared muddled and disorganised regarding their roles.
The restaurant was very nice,a lot of staff but seemed to be disjointed!. The restaurant is dog friendly inside and out, nice Sunday lunch.
Excellent venue for an informal Sunday lunch. Service excellent up to delivery of main course, sluggish afterwards with prompts required
We were not able to order the cooked breakfast we wanted as they 'stopped serving' at 11.45 even though we sat at our table at 11.40am and had to wait for them to take our order. We were shown to a table outside some distance from any heater and it was absolutely freezing. We didn't stay.
The soup was yummy, once it arrived. I think we got forgotten as it took half an hour for 2 soups to be served and as the butter had completely melted they had obviously been left on the hotplate for some time. However when questioned our food arrived immediately. The wait staff were all very pleasant and, other than the delay, can't fault them.
Great food, great service and great atmosphere. Highly recommended
We had fish and chips which was excellent. The service was fast, friendly and attentive.
We found the dessert menu disappointing. Basically only cakes. There was no cheese offering.
We sat inside but the room was too cold for us.
We would come again; for the fish menu which offered good choices.
But please could the room be warmer and a proper dessert menu is needed.
Always lovely to visit and eat at Greendale. Good food and the staff are always the best. So friendly and helpful.
Very quick service, arrived a bit early for our booking but were taken straight to our table. Good choice on the menu, food arrived quickly. Very happy
Lovely range of food available. I had a sandwich which was delicious and generous.
The service was superb and the staff were polite and helpful.
It's very easy to spend lots of money in the beautiful shop with fabulous local products and gifts on sale.
I will definatly go there again and am already looking forward to it.
Asked for a quiet table and that’s just what we got, perfect.
meal was lovely, all fresh produce, bread was gorgeous and loved the quality crisp which were accompanied by a fresh salad with red onion yummy, only thing that let it down was the waitress she didn’t seam happy in her work
