Greendale Farm Shop Cafe and Restaurant
Once you've eaten why not take a stroll along our family farm trail. The trails follow a level path that’s just right for pushchairs and little legs; you can potter over to feed the friendly chickens and ducks, visit Oscar the curious Ostrich and maybe take our vintage tractors for an imaginary ‘test drive’.

Fab food great service
Excellent food. Would highly recommend. Will be making another visit soon
Beautiful food! Lovely covered area with heaters. Waitress was great! Will be coming back ASAP
Lovely food, warm seated outside area, great service! Thank you 🙂
Greendale Farm Shop have constructed an excellent external dining facility which is weather proof despite being partially open to the fresh air. Calor gas heaters were turned on to make sure we were all warm and cosy!
The service and food was first class and Greendale rightly pride themselves on the quality of their locally produced meat and freshly caught fish from their own fishing vessels.
A good table booking system via Open Table which worked efficiently and easily.
A thoroughly enjoyable evening enabling to meet up with our friends again.
Great service, great food and great ambiance. Thankyou
Absolutely lovely few hours at Greendale Farm Shop Cafe with a friend. Very helpful and efficient service and will defiantely return again and recommend to others. Thank you Greendale :-)
Thank goodness lockdown is eased
Service was good, food was excellent and the whole experience was as good as one could expect with regard to current Covid regulations.
Easy to book, Quickly seated, drinks arrived 20 seconds after ordering, the meal was great. What's not to like?
Well worth a visit plus they have an excellent farm shop
We appreciate the effort made by all employees to provide a safe and secure environment but frankly my message meal ( Gammon steak ) was below the standard I expected.
Some seats felt a bit close to other tables. The two seats on one side were past the end of the screen and close to the neighbouring table.
Fabulous! Love the heated outdoor seating, friendly staff and yummy food
Great to have a heater above. Could be hotter.
Nice to have a blanket.
Staff could be more attentive when queuing letting you know it won’t be long or speak at least.
Felt in the wrong place waiting for a while.
All in all it was nice
Not much social distancing my chair was next to someone on next table right by doorway so people brushing past all the time shame cause normally no problem
Considering the torrential rain, we enjoyed our lunch in Greendale’s undercover area. The fish specials were superb.
I booked for four people, on arrival told the system had only given us a table for two, first table offered we could not fit around it, the rain and wind had made most of the table and chairs wet, second chairs wet, bit off putting when there were tables for four out of the rain and wind vacant, also our order was mixed up so people had different to what we ordered.
Understand that Thursday the weather was inclement. But.
I usually love Greendale, and such an effort has been made to accommodate outdoor seating, it looks fabulous. However the last couple visits in the past 2 weeks the service has been quite poor. Always busy but seem to be many staff on. Drinks forgotten, meals wrong. And yesterday in particular seating inappropriate, granted the bad weather could not be helped but seated as a 3 one of us quite literally had to sit with the wind & rain on us, and seats were also wet! Not in my highest of recommendations at present!!
Also a clearer explanation of having to take payment on ordering would be advisable as both times I have visited this has come across as brash & rude. It should be printed somewhere clearly.
To be honest, really disappointed. I shop at Greendale weekly, I'm a massive fan of the place, after looking at the menu I felt we were in for a real treat.
It was poor throughout unfortunately. Orders were wrong - asked for bread for the table, got two slices of bread?!, asked to swap new potatoes for chips, ended up with new potatoes, then swapped out for chips and salad which wasn't what we'd asked for (we'd wanted to keep the mixed veg), cider gravy came late and didn't taste like a cider gravy, to name a couple of things. All fish overcooked, all meat overcooked. Chips didn't taste fresh.
The scallops to start and the mixed veg, when it did come, were both lovely. I would also like to note that we didn't leave overly unhappy, the atmosphere was good and we had a laugh with one of the waitresses at the end of our meal, the food and service was just really poor for what we'd expected.
I felt for the front of house staff, it seemed like a stressful evening, the kitchen clearly had a tough night, I didn't see anyone who I recognised as management, you could tell there was a lack of leadership and cohesion between FOH and the kitchen.
Real shame, maybe will try again in a few months and things will have improved!
Steak burger was lovely, chips were not very hot but OK.
Met and guided to booked table very efficiently- lovely to have the heater option.
Our service was excellent and speedy and the food was lovely.
Service becoming very slow especially when you are limited to a two hour slot.
First time to the new terrace at Greendale nice and warm and quite spacious
Staff where slow waited an hour to get drinks. Food was quick but still have to wait for service for another round of drinks when there seemed to be plenty of staff available but never asked if we where ok or needed anymore drinks
Lovely afternoon tea for two, was so filling that we brought home the cake. Great value for money
the food is excellant and good value for money and service did not take too long considering the amount of people that were there.
Good system for getting our table. Pleasant staff. Like the way Greendale have adapted to accommodate eating outside and making people feel safe. Food good.
Please hold the glasses lower down.
Awesome affordable treat. Will be back very soon
We live locally and are regular visitors to the shop/cafe. Always great food and the location is perfect.
Good food and lovely place but poor service. Slow to receive orders, no plates cleared, drinks missed off after being asked for, staff stood around talking with backs to customers, not a satisfying experience.
Food is great and serive is good seeing how busy they get
Had a lovely morning in the cafe. I feel the service could be a little friendlier and food delivered a bit faster but I appreciate it is a busy and difficult time. The only thing letting it down for us was the manor of some of the staff, which again we noticed this in the farm shop on the til also. We will visit again and hope that was just a one off as I appreciate everyone has “off” days especially in covid times!
From booking online to sitting an d enjoying a lovely lunch, everything was so easy. Thank~you
Marvellous Sunday breakfast! Good quality food and nice ambience
Setting is perfect
Love visiting Greendale.
Wonderful atmosphere, nice and warm with all the heaters.
Great food, great service & nice warm heaters! We will be back :-)
Another great visit to Greendale- good value, quality food and exemplary service in a great outdoor area which is well heated and organised
We’ve given 5 star reviews for here before, but this time was disappointing. We brought friends and have raved about it to them. Our mains were all good and the senior waitress was really good at looking after us. However once she went off duty the young girls were just stood around chatting. We ordered desserts and 40 mins after placing our order, the waitress came along and said they were out of 2 of our choices. 40 mins?! Why it took that long to realise. Anyway we were pretty hacked off when one of the staff said we had gone over our allocated time on the table. If we’d been served quicker then we would’ve been gone in plenty of time.
