Had a really lovely meal and evening here.

Make sure you book a table in advance, worked well.
service was bad just walk pass use so many times they look over but just didnt come over when meal arrived it was cold i been lots of time to greendales but dont think i be back
Greendale near Exeter was easy to book, superb choice of starters, mains and deserts. Food was extremely good and staff polite, helpful and cheerful. Excellent seating arrangement inside and in heated covered and partitioned area. Felt extremely safe if you're Covid aware. Fantastic price and quality
Terrible experience with barking dog and screaming children. Sat for 15 minutes waiting to be served and eventually gave up in favour of take away fish and chips. Previous experiences have been much better than this but everything now seems to have gone to pot. There seemed to be enough waiting staff but it was obvious that they lacked any basic training. Wont be visiting again any time soon.
Been here many times and will be back. Good selection of foods on menu, maybe a bit pricey for the standard of comfort and style but always good quality and portion size good.
Love to browse in the shop, lots of tempting items on sale there.
Well worth a visit!
Food was over cooked maybe even reheated such a shame as the last time it was amazing.
The gravy with the roast dinner contained red wine but this was not mentioned on the menu as it should have been. I am allergic to alcohol and many other people need to know that information and there should be an alternative . Fortunately I asked for a check to be made. No ordinary gravy was offered so the dinners was very dry. It was very disappointing.
After being impressed with the Farm Shop and the Takeaway, we thought we would try the Cafe! We arrived and we greeted professionally, and drinks arrived promptly. We then ordered Haddock and Chips - which impressed us so much from the takeaway - only to be told they could serve that as it wasn’t on the menu. Feet away, the takeaway was serving exactly what we came to enjoy! We asked the manager if they could arrange it for us and he told us that “due to health and safety, they couldn’t serve food from the takeaway kitchen”. We decided to go home with a takeaway if that was the case.
Whilst waiting in the takeaway queue, a waitress who was serving us in the cafe came over with a tray and picked up chips, cod and scampi for the restaurant!!!
I am not sure why haddock was forbidden and scampi and cod was okay - but being directly lied too is a bit much!
I would recommend the Greendale fish counter, butchery, bakery and takeaway! The cafe is good for only coffee whilst you wait!
Greendale is on our best list of places to eat. The waiter and waitresses are young and enthusiastic their service is always friendly and helpful. We have never had a bad meal and their fish is second to none.
We had a fabulous lunch as per usual from Greendale.
Used to love our visits here but since the refurb it’s been really disappointing. Food isn’t as good and portions sizes are half the size meaning it’s not good value.
My husband has twice had the fish and chips that you would expect to be the signature, best dish knowing they catch their own fish but it had clearly been stood a while before serving. Really disappointing and no longer somewhere we go will go out of our way to visit
Great place for a visit. Good Value quality food. Quick service.
Had the scallops with black pudding and salad. Scallops cooked perfectly.
Great food as always
Lovely breakfast. Very impressed that the orange juice was freshly squeezed. A great quality breakfast.
Had a lovely evening with really tasty food, looking forward to next time
Love food, all comes from the butchers so the meat is very good quality. Chips are from the fish and chip shop so again really nice. Depending on what day you go there are always different offers on, we had free deserts which were yummy!
The service was great it makes pleasant change to be served by friendly staff who seem happy and enjoy doing their job. The menu had a good variety, we decided on the fish and chips which was very good and reasonably priced.
We will be returning again soon.
First experience of eating here.
Not impressed. Had to ask the waitress where our food was after 40 minutes and when she brought it to the table the chips were cold, burger luke warm.
Slow service but staff friendly. Food good and tasty and reasonably priced. Very busy which caused high noise levels. Certainly visit again
The food is always nice and value for your money Friendly Staff great service
Food was good, the steak was cooked as I asked. The service was very disappointing there were 4 serving staff and 8 tables taken yet I wasn't once asked if I wanted another drink and after waiting 20 minutes after finishing my main the plates hadn't been cleared so gave up didn't have any more drinks or a pud as I had planned and just got the bill. Going by other reviews I wasn't the only one it happened to, won't be going back
The front person (Betsy was rude, unhelpful.)
The food was mediocre for the price and wasn't a good experience.
We buy the fresh produce at the butchery and are able to produce better flavours with the amazing produce at home.
Won't be coming again.
Need better experienced staff who 'welcome' customers who are not dismissive. The serving staff were delightful and helpful.
Went for breakfast again with a friend of mine.
He had the full breakfast and I had their omelette which is always excellent.
Great quality food at reasonable prices.
Staff are always friendly and professional.
Visited in the evening, lots of staff about but didn’t seem to be serving. Waited a while to even order drinks… disappointed as usually have great service!
The food is usually good here and we enjoyed our meal.
There was a distinct lack of staff taking orders as after waiting some time the person who checked us in had to come over and take our order, meanwhile several staff were grouped behind the bar looking at phones and laughing about what they were looking at.
The person who took our order had to then rush back to the booking desk so did not take payment, luckily I’m honest so when we finished our meal I went over to the coffee bar and flagged a member of staff so I could pay.
Dog friendly warm heated covered outdoor seating very good food
Food was excellent, and very good value. The service was a bit slow, which could cause a problem to some diners.
The menu is basic but the produce is exceptional, we really enjoyed our meal and the service was A+
Always pleased with the food and service. Good value, onsite parking and can include our dog.
Unfortunately not all the drinks and food was available so had to make a second choice.
Service however was good and efficient.
Background music was too loud and we were unable to hold a conversation without shouting across the table.
Lunchtime choices were excellent but disappointed with the evening.
Quick and friendly service. Food was outstanding and nice size portions
Lovely food and friendly staff. Reasonably priced and do a bandit plate for small children where they can just have bits of the adults plates at no cost. Only downside was we were in the covered area and it was cold, had to keep coats on while eating. Also raining so very noisy on perspex roof which made conversation difficult.
Great atmosphere, lovely decor, great staff and service, food wholesome ... bit lapsing in fineness. I.e. chip 'side' dish was a ridiculously large portion, with under cooked and greasy'chunky limp chips. Could have offered half the size in perhaps a micro metal bucket using French fries! Bread roll with soup could have been a couple of slices of locally baked Artisan bread ...
Service was terrible and the food was average, wouldn’t recommend.
Fab breakfast, quick service & staff friendly & polite
Food was good, however the staff were very slow, not even happy or efficient.
We stopped here for lunch on our way to our holiday in Cornwall and we enjoyed our meal so much we decided to stop here on our way home.
We would definitely stop here again.
Half of order came out and a wait of 10minutes before the rest arrived which was cold! Not overly impressed, never had problem before with breakfast menu.
