Green's Steakhouse - Bracknell
We felt very disappointed with our experience. We were there celebrating our anniversary. We had to wait ages for our drinks and when we got our food our steak was very bloody (when we asked for medium) fatty and extremely salty. Chips were also salty and didn’t look cooked enough. I left half of my steak and my chips. It was extremely noisy and the people next to us were very clearly drug intoxicated. The fire alarm went off through our meals but was not told to vacate the building and we had a very strong smell of cigarette smoke half way through our meal. We had to be somewhere else so felt we couldn’t send our food back otherwise we would be late. Overall a poor experience and won’t be returning.
Poor food, tasteless and bad cuts of meat. Overpriced for what it was. Service was adequate but not very responsive when we said food was poor. There are better options.
Really lovely meal, lovely staff and excellent evening.
Our 5 year Anniversary,fantastic food,service was fantastic,will definitely be going back👍👍
How can a steak house run out of mushrooms and onion rings?????
Not only that, then serve you with cold tomatoes and garlic only then to be stared down by the chef!!!!!
Then change then wine to a differ variety when you order - same again please????
This is the second disaster meal at Greens and we won’t be going again. Such a shame, could be the go to place in Bracknell.
We have been meaning to go to Greens for a long time and finally got round to it on Saturday. Not disappointed - service was fantastic, food was brilliant (a little pricey but worth it) - my steak was cooked to perfection and my partners ribs were delicious. Saying that I ordered a rib eye and got a sirloin but didn’t complain because it was so good 🤷🏼♂️ Only downside was a very loud table that was dining at the same time - waitress tried her hardest to quieten them down, although when the food arrived for them didn’t hear a peep 😂
Overall great and recommended, we’ll be back 👍🏻👍🏻
We went there, our first visit!!! We were the 3rd couple in the far room,12 other couples arrived and nearly all got there food b4 us,not the best experience,
Starters were cold, sent chicken wings back & they reheated them then gave them back to us! The sirloin on the roast dinner was nice but the Yorkshire’s were shop bought & frozen ( nothing like the picture on their website), roast potatoes were awful & it was lukewarm at best.
Couldn't fault it. Food was spot on, drinks and service excellent.
Whilst the service was good the food was very average, portions were small and for the price expected more, there were 8 of us, including 3 kids, we had 2 alcoholic drinks between us and it was £35 a head.
Menu choice for special dietary requirements poor. Starter not cooked, neither was replacement starter. Main course of T-bone steak was tough and had no flavour. Sorbet dessert was too tart. Not much variety of non-alcoholic drinks although waitress made a nice elderflower spritz as an alternative. Vastly over-priced and 20% service charge outrageous. Will not return or recommend
Some of the worst service I have ever experienced. Food was very average, music was far too loud for a mid afternoon crowd - and by crowd I mean there were 3 tables of customers. Although at least the staff were enjoying the music while chatting to friends who had dropped in and were sitting at the bar giggling and looking at photos or social media on their phones. It was not busy at all which leaves no excuse for the terrible service. Floor staff need to be retrained in basic service skills..... and manners.
And the waitress then had the nerve to ask me to leave a gratuity. Just an awful experience.
My food was lovely but my husband and children said that the chips came out with salt already on them and quite a lot too
Food was late and awful. Waiting an hour for a sub-standard steak......would expect much more from a so called steakhouse, especially at those prices.
Brilliant! The food was amazing! Will definitely be going again!
2nd visit to Greens. First time back in February, service was slow and disorganised but food was really good so decided it was worth a second chance.
On this visit the service was still poor - waiting nearly 45 mins for a starter and a further 45 mins for a main.
Starters tasted good but were just warm enough but the mains were bad. Steak fries warm, french fries cold, onion rings luke warm, steaks lukewarm, pork belly cold, tomatoes cold, garlic cold, salad non existent!
Servers were working hard and multi tasking but despite several requests the ‘manager’ would not come and talk to us as he was ‘busy’ in the kitchen!
Really want this restaurant to succeed as Bracknell has waited so long for the new town centre and successful businesses are in important but in the short term at least I can only recommend avoiding Greens.
A truly disappointing birthday meal (and as on my first visit they ran out of draught lager!)
The food was delicious. The service was not at it's best. We waited a long time to order drinks. After we ate it took a long time for the plates to be collected and we did not get desserts as the wait was too long.
Very disappointed as we were here to celebrate my daughters A - level results and the service ruined the experience.
Very slow service. Food good but medium rare steak was over cooked.
Nice theme, staff were very attentive and helpful. Food was ample and well cooked. A good experience all round.
Main meal took ages to arrive, and my Steak was medium rather than medium rare, I did not send it back as I had waited so long. The waitress was excellent
10% service charge added to our bill which was wrong as we had been charged for extra drinks we never had this was due to asking for drinks yet waiting 20 minutes for waitress to return - she didn’t so we asked someone else for them. Asked for the bill was asked if we wanted our change we said yes but was given the change minus the 10% service charge! It is OUR choice if we pay a tip so the full change should have been given. Will not be returning.
Good place to eat, the service was very welcoming and very attentive. The steaks were outstanding and my wife's fillet steak was as tender as it could be and my Rib Eye was cooked to perfection. The portions are large and so was the side orders. The restaurant décor was superb and inviting. The food is a bit on the expensive side but you get what you pay for in life and it was well worth the money
Really fantastic steak and service was quick with really lovely waitress :) only downside was the music which we sort of had to shout over. Definitely will be back!
I don't normally complain in restaurants but I did this time. I ordered seasonal vegetables which, I was told, would consist of broccoli, peas and carrots. What we got was no broccoli, and a small amount of peas and carrots, padded out with a larger quantity of potatoes. We didn't need potatoes as we had fries anyway. The waiter did agree to refund for the veg, but it shouldn't have happened in the first place.
The fries I thought were rather boring.
The ribs were good; the half rib had plenty of meat. I don't think I could have managed the full rack.
They didn't have my preferred dessert (the pear crumble).
Enjoyed evening at Greens, the fillet steak was superb, but meal was let down by 4 tiny tomatoes and “matchstick” fries were over cooked was like trying to eat a pile of sticks, gave up! Forget thin fries they are awful, use regular cut or opt for steak fries.
The staff were very good, though service slow to get going.
Been there a few times, but this was my first time booking through OpenTable and it was also the first time everything went without a hitch!
Staff were great, they had everything we wanted available, it was all cooked perfectly. The only minor let down is that I’m sure they’ve changed the brownie to a slightly less nice one, despite their insistence they haven’t.
Overall great meal.
Have been to Green on many occasions and the food is always outstanding.
On this occasion we did have terrible customer service from one waitress but the manager was great and apologised.
Can’t wait to go again.
Great meal with great ambience
Delicious food make sure you’re hungry. Staff great. Very helpful.
XO burger huge. Very pleasant evening spent there.
Took one with allergies no problems.
Food was very nice but the service was a bit slow but friendly staff
Excellent steak and mushrooms as an extra. Would recommend for a special occasion
Great atmosphere and decor. Friendly service but felt the value for money and quality of food is better at other steak houses. Disappointed roasts not available on fathers day after 4pm. Would of like to try have tried the roasts.
Food was ok but very overpriced for what you get.
Service was poor. Went on a Sunday and wanted a roast, the waitress told me they didn’t have any!! Had to ask twice to order a drink, my daughters main course was brought out to her before she had even had her starter! And considering there was us and two other tables in the restaurant it wasn’t busy at all!! Very very disappointed as I had heard good things about Greens. Unfortunately I would not return or recommend.
Poor service and food again. Steak over cooked , red wine sauce split.
Poor quality burgers but the staff could not have been nicer.....I have been offered a complimentary burger and desert for 2 of us by the management team which was a nice touch
Lovely place, great food, really friendly staff we were very impressed with our visit. We will be back thank you
Very expensive for the food. Not much of it. Ordered chicken salad not much salad and chicken burger was very dry. Very disappointed
The ‘chateaubriand’ we ordered was a poor cut and was served swimming in bloody juice. It had obviously not been allowed to rest even though the restaurant was very quiet for a Friday evening. When mentioned to the staff, we were told that the chef was a contractor called at short notice. Will not be going back and would not recommend the restaurant.
Chloe our host was amazing, she was super friendly really polite and kept checking up on us! Then we found out she hadn’t been there long, she is a great credit to Greens!
I booked a table at Greens for a joint birthday meal for myself and my partner.
I expected this to be a high-end dining experience and an enjoyable evening with a good atmosphere - but alas, i left pretty disappointed to be honest.
When you are paying £50+ pp for a 2 course meal, the expectation was that it would be a perfect service.
The food was ok, nothing special, but what let it down was the service. The young girls they had waiting the tables were clearly inexperienced (one even told us that it was her second week) and did not know much about the menu or even the difference between a cider and a pilsner (having run out of the cider - but they managed to charge me for a second bottle even though i had the last bottle previously - so needed the bill amending)!!
For a "high-end" steak restaurant, i would expect the waiting staff to at least know the difference between the cuts of meat and drinks available!! There were only 3 waiting staff (including Manager) that i could count on the evening, as it was quiet, but the eldest could not have been any older than early 20's. I would have expected a more Senior, experienced waiter/waitress for this type of establishment.
I could of got a cheaper meal with a better ambience and service at TGI's which is only a short walk from this restaurant - was hoping for a "fine dining" experience, but was left somewhat disappointed.
