Really positive experience. Was greeted by lovely waitress who made sure we were comfortable and had a very friendly demeanour. Food was excellent, both taste and presentation. Would not hesitate to go back and will be recommending to many people!
Fabulous vegan option. The menu is ideal for mixed parties of vegan's and omni's. There aren't a lot of vegan options but what they have are really good. I recently ordered the Mexican Chimichurri Melt from the lunch menu. Oh wow, it was fabulous. It was so delicious and loads of food too. It came with a lovely side salad with a very flavourful dressing. All vegan. Yum yum. Would definitely order it again.
Great food. Great service. Great setting. Will be back soon
This was my first visit to Greenwood’s. I had the full Scottish breakfast and my partner had the eggs florentine. Both dishes were week presented and tasted delicious. The menu was extensive and accommodated a wide range of needs and preferences. Prices were higher than other places I have been for breakfast before however good quality ingredients were used throughout. Staff were friendly and made us and our dog all feel very welcome. In general tables were well spaced and we didn’t feel crammed in, which is important in the current climate. Toilets were clean and well maintained. Online booking system was easy and efficient (we actually turned up early however the staff were more than accommodating).
Lovely dining experience. Friendly staff and beautiful food. Window seats are very nice too. And the Bloody Mary's are a good recommendation to.
Always a pleasure and a treat. Generous portions with fab flavours. Return trips required to sample all of the excellent menu - from spicy Bloody Marys to warm Dutch apple cake. Comforting, filling and consistently spot-on.
Beautiful ambience, great food and lovely customer service.
Absolutely amazing! Food was fresh, tasty, brilliant sized portions. I had the banana bread tumble and my friend the eggs benedict. Thoroughly recommend it and we will be back!
It’s such a wonderful place. Caring service and really inventive menu. Always enjoy eating there.
Carefully prepared food in considered surroundings. An antidote to all the fast and furious food outlets in Edinburgh. A relaxing and very adult atmosphere.
Excellent food, ambience and service. A quiet little place with their own individual style.
We have been there twice for brunch and enjoyed both occasions.
We shall be visiting again before our stay in Edinburgh is finished.
You'll not be disappointed, quality breakfast.
Lovely food and worth the little extra cost.
Can’t fault it. A great dining experience. Superb setting with excellent service
Great choice of food, great service but a little pricey
Fantastic menu choice and delicious food! Coffee cups are super cute!
Fabulous place for breakfast. Super portions, amazing homemade soda bread and gluten free bread, lovely service and atmosphere. Nice to find an intimate, neighbourhood breakfast spot away from the hustle and bustle just a few minutes walk from Princes Street. Will definitely be making a booking for my next visit to Edinburgh.
Poached eggs let them down. Cappuccino…. Odd
Lovely menu. Super fresh food that was delicious Great service and lovely atmosphere. Highly recommend a visit. Will definitely be back
Delicious food! Highly recommend the banana bread tumble.
Lovely food & friendly staff, would definitely go there again
Amazing brunch place, wanted to try everything on the menu - we’ll definitely be back soon!
Unreal Food and Service - Highly recommend!!
Great service, food delicious . This was our second visit and would visit again when in Edinburgh.
This is simply a must visit cafe - Absolutely gorgeous food and a lovely atmosphere.
Always excellent service with beautifully presented food. Best scrambled egg in town. A great new addition to Edinburgh's food scene.
Great new edition to the brunch/lunch scene in Edinburgh. Portions are generous - the Cajun Melt was highly recommended and made for a substantial lunch. Loved the home-made ginger beer too. Jen, the Manageress, is friendly and welcoming and I'll be back.
Lovely environment. Offered a table in the window. Had a pot of tea for 2. Hubbie had pancakes, I had the banana bread, Did not wait long. Food presentation was excellent. Hubbie enjoyed his pancakes - only 1 comment, he likes very crispy bacon. But he ate everything and said how tasty it all was. My banana bread feast was amazing. Fruit was delicious. Perfect amount of maple syrup and yummy mascarpone.
Loved our breakfast and it was nice to chat to the owner about Amsterdam too.
Incredible brunch, undoubtedly one of the best in the city.
Very small space and very busy
Each to their own in the end but too crowded and noisy for us
Food was good however and service was fine
Went for breakfast, great selection and we were not disappointed!! Staff were very helpful and friendly. Will definitely be back!
Exceptional venue, food and service, it’s a must go place!
Amazing brunch/lunch vibes!! Beautiful surroundings, delicious food and lovely staff! Can not fault it!! Would definitely recommend, i can’t wait to go back!
Staff all very polite, our waitress Emma was helpful, friendly and gave great advice on the city centre. Food was wonderful and came out quickly. Lovely atmosphere throughout breakfast would recommend and visit again.
New favourite brunch spot for sure! Jen and the team are extremely helpful and friendly!
Delicious breakfast with a great range of options to suit everyone!
Great service very hospitable. Pancakes were very dense and not flavourful. Would also have crispy bacon with pancakes. Sausage and homemade hash browns good. Coffee nice.
Great spot for brunch. Lots of atmosphere, not too noisy but a nice Sunday morning buzz. Great brunch selections - delicious eggs. The Chai Latte is AMAZING!
This was my second visit to Greenwoods and I was remembered and welcomed immediately by the Manager which was a lovely touch. My visits were with two different sets of friends and we all had amazing food in a great setting (and probably the best Ginger Beer I've ever had - I'd return again just for that!)
I am vegetarian and was very well catered for with plenty of choice - all of which sounded delicious. The dishes I had on both occasions were exceptional and my friends felt the same with their choices. I want to keep this place as my hidden gem - but it really deserves great success and I would heartily recommend a visit! I'll be back often. 10/10
The eggs royale are worth the hype and reason we went back. Hands down the best eggs royale I've had. Absolutely delicious. However this will be our last visit. Firstly you are given a 1 hour time slot. You are reminded of this as you sit down. The server sat us down and announced "you have 1 hour". No "how are you today" or any other small talk. Not a super welcoming or friendly start... We received our food 30 minutes in to our booking and as a slow eater I felt very rushed to finish breakfast in time. I really felt they are just trying to seat as many covers as possible and because if this their focus on the customer experience has slipped. The servers are so busy there is no time to build a rapport resulting in tense, rather than relaxed, Saturday morning breakfast experience. We were asked if we would like anything else, but after the constant comments from the staff that they were running behind schedule, we didn't feel as though we could ask for a coffee and cake as this would have meant overstaying our 1 hour welcome! Overall I felt part of a conveyor belt system of getting as many people in and out of the door as possible with customer service completely compromised.
Hi Claire, So Glad to hear you enjoyed your Emperors Eggs Royale. I'm sorry to hear you feel our service standard has slipped. We are a small restaurant with limited tables who are extremely busy at the weekends, hence the 1hour time slot for tables of 2. This is in our online booking T&C's and again on seating to manage guest expectations. If you'd like more time on the table, ask at time of booking and we'll do our best to accommodate where possible. Warm Regards, Emma, Restaurant Manager.
Tremendous brunch, served in a beautiful venue. The team were so accommodating after arriving with a pram in the rain! Such a great place for brekky or lunch.
