Well laid out, friendly welcoming staff with good food
The food was delicious and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Also the other customers seemed friendly too. We have just recently moved to the area and we were very impressed! I think we have found our new ‘local’.
Was a little disappointed with our visit. I was unaware that they had changed the menu and didn’t offer gluten free Sunday lunch anymore.
Can’t knock the food it was 100%!
With the new guidance we were sat outside which was nice as it was a warm.
They are using an app to order drinks or food. We ordered drinks before food and the food came before the drinks! They said there was a technical issue.
Manager couldn’t have been more apologetic, we would have stayed for pudding but as their wasn’t a GF menu we decided not too.
The outdoor tent was really pretty and was the perfect place to have a drink and a bite to eat.
Really friendly staff and quick service!
Can’t wait to go back
Food came out 2 hours after we ordered it.
2 of us didn’t receive our order which was a pizza and the other had their chicken sent back as it wasn’t edible. Everyone out of the 6 managed to finish their food and drinks before we even got our pizzas. We had to go and remind them twice we were waiting. At this point they admitted they didn’t put a pizza through. Eventually a pizza came out. It was a cooked pizza base with raw onion, mushroom and peppers scattered on top with NO chicken what so ever. It took a further complaint and another 30 minutes for the staff to finally bring the other pizza out in a BOX to take home and also a box of chicken ... they were reluctant to refund us the 3 meals . In the end they did. Absolute joke. They had 12 tables in the end to serve whilst we were waiting so we have no idea what the mix up was. Definitely won’t be returning and 100% wouldn’t recommend
Great food and atmosphere! Love the marquee, it looks so pretty and the heaters are a bonus! Great to see lots of staff on too. Only gripe was the fact the service was a little slow when waiting for drinks, although the food came quick! One of the staff members seemed a little stressed and we overheard her snap at a customer who was asking where their drinks were. Shame you have to go around the front to smoke, I understand it’s not ideal in the marquee but we feel you should be able to whilst seated in the carpark / grass area. A little annoying the 2 hour timeframe seemed to be monitored closely, in-fact we were asked to move 30 mins before we were due to (staff member apologised when she realised we hadn’t had the full 2 hours). Overall, I think you’ve done an amazing job and the place is looking great! Just worry quality / service could be compromised due to amount of tables and bookings.
Disappointed in our visit.
The Set up is all wrong only one bar staff on a Friday afternoon despite having bookings on nearly every table. Not dog friendly anymore either which was a shame. Drinks took 40 minutes to come. Food was nice when it finally came but all in all the service was shocking. Wouldn’t go again as friends have said the same thing lately. Needs to be better and more customer friendly.
We were seated and ignored for 40 minutes. Not even offered a drink....
The staff didn’t even acknowledge our presence and so we left without a single drink or any food
When booking the Griffin for myself and my wife a few days before, I didn’t expect to get a table on the last evening before the lockdown. Our booking was successful and our table was perfectly located, we had our pet dog with us. The waitresses fussed over us truly professionally and our drinks and food soon arrived. The service and food were up to the usual very good standard and will be recommended by us. We hope to use the takeaway facility being undertaken during the second lockdown period, but in the meantime we wish you all good wishes and a great future.
Excellent food and drinks
Served by friendly staff
Overall absolutely excellent service in these difficult times
Well done all
All food came out at different times so none of our party got to eat their meals at the same time.
The menu was limited and the food was nothing special.
We waited 45mins- hour before any food actually came out.
Iv ate here before , under previous management I’m assuming as I recognised none of the current staff and have to say it was much better previously.
Won’t be returning
Lovely member of staff who seated us and served us until her shift ended.
Always a great meal and atmosphere at the Griffin, the new owners and all the staff are really friendly and welcoming. Great choice or beer and wines, would highly recommend.
Enjoyed our evening at the Griffins Head. Great selection of drinks in the bar. The food, Steak Pie, and a good Lasagne. Good wine selection. Service was very good indeed.
A really nice ambience. Look forward to the new menu launching on the 18th march.
Had husbands 60th Birthday meal at Griffins Head, was a good night with family, booking was a doddle, arrived at pub, immediately shown our table, waitress attentive throughout the meal, food was really good, arrived quickly as did drinks throughout the meal itself. Overall a great night was had by all!
Had a lovely meal at Griffith s head, had a gluten free meal which was amazing
Waitress very attentive and helpful
Lovely peaceful and relaxing environment
They were not aware of our reservation at the desk where you book in and because we had brought a small dog with us as my daughter had locked herself out her house so couldn't put her dog away we were made to go to the front behind the bar and sit at a dirty uncomfortable table where other people were just drinking they didn't even wipe the table for us and it was cold as near the door. I wish we had gone somewhere else that was dog friendly and we could have sat in a nice environment
The menu when we arrived, having booked on line, we were presented with a very long list of food no longer available to order. We had no options really . Our order took over 20 minutes to arrive. We then had to ask if we could have something to drink. The waitress said yes and then left again to get a drinks menu. We then ordered two glasses of water, a Pepsi and a small house rose.
When my sister finished her dinner I went to ask if they could bring our drinks. I was told they were coming from the bar.
Another waitress asked if we were alright so we explained we had not had our drinks yet. I then finished my meal and then the drinks arrived!
Quite a few dishes on the menu weren’t available. My onion rings were cold and my steak was overcooked.
Quiet and relaxing atmosphere. Good choice of traditional pub food with an extensive specials menu and reasonable prices. Nice Real ales and selection of wines at reasonable prices. Small restaurant but tables well spaced.
Very good food and staff very helpful and nice
The menu is too extensive and as a consequence the food is bland and lukewarm. However the service from the staff is very good.
Utterly abysmal service.
The table was booked for 9pm and, on arriving at 9:02pm, we were told that the kitchen had stopped serving food.
OpenTable showed that Marco's New York Italian at Kegworth had availability so we went there!
Very easy to book online. Food was lovely. Disappointed that ther3 was no fish available but the meal and the service was great. Will visit again
