Grille 92 at Fairview
This restaurant is truly a hidden gem
The food was delicious. Since the meal was so reasonably priced, my daughter offered to pay for it. We would highly recommend.
After reading reviews, this is certainly a little gem. Don’t be alarmed to find this restaurant amongst senior living community. The food was outstanding, I would definitely recommend. Lovely people, service was a 10/10. Please go & enjoy, you will not be disappointed!
First and foremost, Mark our waiter and host was great. Very friendly, eager to please, obviously wants to see the place succeed.
It is very much institutional dining, in an assisted living community as others have noted. One big open room, tables with steel legs on wheels, pool with the chair assist right outside the window. It's almost like they had an extra building and didn't quite know what to do with it. When you walk in you pass a small gym, restrooms, and the kitchen. Then you're in the dining room.
The food was good, not great, but better than you would expect given the location. Saturday nights the kitchen closes at 8pm. We were two of the seven people there.
I wish them well, especially Mark because he definitely puts effort into what he does, but I can't imagine this catching on beyond the community in which it is situated.
My parents had the scallop casserole and they both loved their dinners. I opted for chicken fried steak and what a treat it was. I had a hard time finishing the steak let alone the potatoes and veggies, and I've never had gravy as good and the steak was tender. We also had the veggie spring rolls as an appetizer and we all loved the dipping sauce.
Delicious food, attentive staff, very reasonable prices. A nice secret in a busy city. I don’t think a lot of people realize it is open to the public!
The menu is so varied that there are choices for everyone. The food was wonderful and the prices are so reasonable. The staff was friendly. Future visits are planned.
This restaurant seems to be part of an assisted living community which gives it a bit of an institutional feel. We even considered not going in. However, the food was very good so we were glad to have tried it. The service was very friendly and quick.
This restaurant is located amongst a retirement community...was not sure what to expect... they did not disappoint...great food and service at a very reasonable price
We weren't sure what to expect once we found this hidden gem, but the food and staff were great.
The atmosphere is very nice and the food was very good! I strongly recommend reservations if you are going for dinner. Don't let the location sway you! The restaurant is located within a housing community.
What a find! Pleasantly surprised and exceeded expectations. The dining room is nicely decorated, the service was terrific and the food was great! And to top it off, great value!
Highly recommended, we'll be back
While traveling found ourselves in Connecticut and because of traffic searched open table for the closest restaurant. The restaurant turned out to be located within a senior housing development. No atmosphere and very mediocre food
I went to Grille 92 for dinner when attending training at the Coast Guard Academy in early December. The Chef, David Richards, and the staff are a gem waiting to be discovered. The menu is a rich blend of innovation and classics such as the prosciutto wrapped salmon in a light complementary mango glaze. I have dined well across the world but there is no greater find than wonderful and creative people preparing extraordinary dining .
The view of the Thames River and the U.S. Coast Guard Academy is exceptional from the restaurant's location. The dining room is large with a beautiful stone fireplace centered in the room yet the ambiance is inviting and accommodates couples or parties.
I highly recommend David and Grille 92 to Officers and shipmates, and also to all who love a warm and embracing environment.
