Love Guac! The guacamole menu is fun, margaritas are delicious. Service is excellent. Prices are human. Ask to sit in the back.
The staff were very friendly and professional. The food was fine if you're in a bind, but it wasn't terribly authentic - not quite Mexican or even TexMex. All of it was edible though. There are probably a dozen other places in the East Village I would go to before going back here, but I wouldn't completely avoid it in the future.
The drinks were ok. We ordered from the seafood menu it was delicious!
I came here for my birthday my family had reservations for brunch
Great place to celebrate birthday or something food is good and drinks great
I frequently visit Guac and order the same entree (chicken and waffles) each time. This time the taste was totally off and just bad.
Good fish tacos!
I seriously love coming here
The food service and atmosphere is absolutely amazing I met a great sever name Jovani who’s a very kind patient guy, he seriously care about the costumers and always makes me feel welcome every time I come by
Definitely be back soon
The food was excellent! Our waiter Alex was very attentive and accommodating. Hands down Guac has the best Mexican food in the east village!
The food never disappoints , the bar manager is AMAZING , the environment and ambiance is amazing. Everything about this place is a GO !! Every time I eat here I leave already wanting more. Jazz is one of the dopest and humblest people you will ever meet!!!! Best city sea food platters out here !!! You will not regret coming here !!
Brunch menu was not shown online, so we arrived to a different menu from what we wanted to eat.
Waiter was horrible food wasn't good and cups were filthy had to go to store to get something to drink
Amazing! Went there to support Jazzo. She ended up sitting at our table and we had a ball. Great convo, great food, great atmosphere. The waitresses are amazing as well.
The food was delicious , my boyfriend and I enjoyed the meals and definitely want to go back again !
Our entire experience for brunch was bad. We ordered 4 different items and only the burrito was passable. The steak tacos were cooked to a crisp, the eggs benedict came without hollandaise (and even when they brought it over after, it was inedible, and the huevos rancheros was essentially an egg on top of marinara sauce toast (you could easily make much better at home). The service was bad as well. We had to remind them of basic things like silverware and coffee. Also it was freezing and when asked to increase the temp they said there was nothing to do. Really confused as Yelp gives this place 4/5 stars.
Food was good but TERRIBLE service. The waitress had an attitude from the second we walked in. We had to ask for water, utensils and side plates. All things she should have offered and gave major attitude each time. Ordered fajitas and they spilled the steaming hot sauce on my lap then didn't offer to comp anything or even properly apologize.
The steak was incredibly chewy. My jaw hurt halfway through the meal. Both my friend and I regretted our orders.
great neighborhood spot for reliable mex-type fare. Friendly service, nice bar options- great choices for sauces!
Another East Village find! Perfect neighborhood spot with good Mex options, tasty guacamole specials and of course, bar favorites. Recommend coming early for Hapy Hour prices & downstairs comfy seating. Upstairs gives you show of passerby Ave B action and friendly bar staff chats. A winner any way preffered!
They closed the kitchen without letting us know. I was ready to order more food and then just told me it was too late because the kitchen had closed. No last call as you would normally expect at an average restaurant. I had made a reservation with a note that is was a birthday so we can sing happy birthday and we never got to do it because they decided to close without warning. Overall service was slow for nyc standards.
Great time, staff
Expected better Guac from a place named Guac
The food was amazing- we got the habanero guac plantains and quesadillas. The service was horrible. There was waiter for the entire restaurant at 8 pm on a Friday. The drinks were watery and I just can’t stand bad service. Wouldn’t recommend.
I am a huge fan of Mexican fare. I always do my best to appreciate an experience. Unfortunately the restaurants food wasn’t bad for a casual place but the service was terrible. Although seated immediately, it took a while to receive menus as well as water. Staff simply took very long to deliver on everything asked for. Even when it came time to pay the bill we were just left sitting there. No one checked in. I wish I could have made this a request spot but I simply can’t bring people here for meetings or anything o the sort.
They changed the recipe of the chicken in their tacos. It was bland and tough... It tasted as if they boiled it... It’s too bad because I used to love this place! Their guacamole is still spot on and the churros are delish! Our waiter was a little slow but in his defense it was very busy and he was the only one working.
We did the bottomless brunch with Margaritas and it was great! The guac was very flavorful. Brunch and our margaritas were great! Will be coming back!
The food was portioned well and the service was superb.
I will definitely be returning.
Guac is the best!!! The food is great, the vibes are great, everything is great. Tiffany is the best as well!!!! I <3 GUAC
Came here for a last minute Sunday morning brunch with a couple of friends. We were the only ones in the restaurant until around 12pm when one other table of 2 came in. Overall, the food was good but nothing outstanding. We had their guac sampler, which really just looked like 3 separate servings of guac with a different topping sprinkled on it, depending on what you ordered.
Made a reservation on a snowy Friday night. Showed up in time for the reservation. The host proceeded to tell me that he did not have my reservation in the system. Instead of trying to accommodate us he simply told us there was no room. If you decide to go here I recommend calling to confirm that you really have a reservation.
Very small and crowded up front, I personally think the food is overpriced as well as the small drinks you get. But I would basically stick to coming here for the guac and margs only. The taco Tuesday deal was good and worth it with the 3 tacos for $10
The food was great and extremely reasonable. The guacamole sampler is excellent every time. a great neighborhood spot that doesn't disappoint.
Always a great place for some good food and even better drinks. Their guac trio is to die for. I highly recommend the mango guac!
Thought the guacamole was awesome. They have many choices and we tried the platter with choice of 3. Don't think you can make a bad choice. Margarita was pretty yummy too!
GUAC lived up to its name! The guac list was so hard to choose from, and the 3 we selected were AMAZING [Smoked Chipotle, Asado Tomatillo & Queso Fresco]! You can definitely tell everything is handmade with fresh ingredients. Even the flavored margaritas were outstanding [and I normally hate Tequilla]. I can't wait to go back and try the other 8 types of guac!
Terrible experience - They don't even serve their guacamole (what they are named for) until after 4PM. The rest of the menu was very unimpressive so we left. Total waste of time.
Guac is one of my favorite new Mexican restaurants. Not only does it live up to its name is excellent Guac in a variety of flavors, everything else is great too. The margaritas are some of the best around, and at a super reasonable price compared to most.
It does get a little noisy but it contributes to the fun atmosphere. It is good for groups as the pitcher or margaritas is a great deal.
Highly recommend! But also recommend making a reservation in advance, as its not that big.
Was a nice spot to have a drink and eat the quac, awesome!
Waitress was rude- ignored us for 5 minutes then slammed two menus in front of without saying a word. We left before ordering. Miserable experience.
Great menu !!! They didn't have our opentable reservation but they were ready to sit us before we both got our drinks. The bartender was training (on a Saturday night) so my drink tasted like it was missing the alcohol. I only have 1 drink but would go back for all the guacamoles and play it safe with beer. Delicious food though
