Gurkhas Diner Ratings and Reviews
Thoroughly enjoyed the meal - lovely flavours, attentive and friendly staff. One improvement that could be made is to have Vegetarian main meal options rather than choosing from the side dishes, but having said that, the choice of vegetarian sides was good so it wasn't difficult to put a combination together. Definitely recommend it.
This was the first time I'd been to Ghurkas, and both myself and my dining partner really enjoyed it! We went for a quiet meal, and the ambiance was good. The food was very yummy and decently priced (as were the drinks).
The only downside I'd say - and this is nitpicking - is that when we arrived the restaurant was basically empty, yet the next couple who came in were seated right next to us - the tables are quite close together as well. Some people may not mind this, of course, but it's a pet peeve of mine. However, this wasn't overly bothersome, and overall we had a lovely evening with good food and friendly staff.
Can't wait to go back!
Beautifully and carefully considered flavours, a great place to try Nepalese food if you haven't before. I recommend the Kathmandu pork and the rashilo bhat rice; both were absolutely delicious. The restaurant is not particularly child friendly and we felt that the staff were slightly annoyed to see us with a buggy, it was a special occasion and the reaction to the buggy made us feel as though we were inconveniencing them. In order to fit around a table we were shoved into a corner near the toilet door, the table was unmade, these things slightly spoiled the mood. I have eaten here many times and based on the food alone I would highly recommend it, the quality of food is consistent and delicious.
the food is very very nice. I got a "very spicy" dish and I was expecting a bit more of a kick. But the taste was great. the sundries were unbelievably nice. Service was okay. the restaurant is very simple but nice looking.
I think I was a bit surprised by the bill, which was more than I expected. We paid just over £50 in two. Now, it would be wrong to compare it with brick lane restaurants, as the quality is higher, but it still feels 10-15% overpriced.
I am likely to go back, as the food is nice, but I won't rush, as it is more than i'd want to spend on a weeknight dinner.
Maybe weekdays offers?
Had a lovely meal with my husband at Gurkhas Diner. Food was all lovely, but service was a bit hit and miss - after being given the dessert menu, we were planning on having dessert, but after waiting 20 mins for someone to come and take our order, when they eventually came over we decided just to get the bill, as we had waited so long. Apart from that however, we had a lovely time - the food was all delicious, and the staff were friendly.
