Calm wonderful service , wonderful food and not too expensive. Felt relaxed with wonderful white linen tablecloths and napkins
Amazing food which was a bit different. Chose a variety of dishes and shared them between 4 of us. Fresher tasting than Indian but not v spicy. Plenty of delicious veggie/vegan options. Friendly staff were v happy to recommend - great service.
It was a nice enough restuarant, but service was very slow. Polite but slow. We sat down at 1pm and left at close to 4pm, even though by about 2.30pm or so onwards, we were the only diners (8 in total). Food was good enough, but nothing to shout home about. And I take REAL issue with paying £3 for a bowl of rice... its rice for goodness sake.... it should be £1, or £1.50 max. Its an integral part of a meal like this, so charging for it as if it were an optional side is not on. Th pricing on everything else is fair but when rice costs one third of a meat dish, you have to question the motives of the restaurant
Fantastic food, good service. Have been a couple of times and would happily recommend. Tables very close together and you really need to book. Think smaller groups seem to do better here than larger groups. I booked through open table as no one was picking up the phone. Restaurant didn’t have my booking on their system but managed to accommodate us.
Great food and service at the beginning of the meal was great, but as the restaurant got busier we were left with our finished plates for 30 mins and could get no ones attention for the bill. In the end we walked up to the bar to pay. Is a shame as there’s a lot of food I would want to try on the menu.
Really great tasting food
Lovely staff, would love to go back if in the area again.
Family get together
Terrible service, the food was cold and the taste of it was appalling. Not been to such a bad restaurant in a while!
Amazing restaurant- hidden gem in Balham. The food is exceptional and the service is brilliant.
Lovely. Great food and nice environment. Proper near everything in Balham. 5/5
Very disappointing meal. Took ages to get served, even though the staff were very helpful and smiley. I had expected something a little different yet we ordered most of the Nepalese speciality dishes which were fairly average curries.
Came here for dinner with a friend on Saturday night. The food was OK, nothing to write home about. It's Nepalese but what we had was very similar to Indian food. The Nepalese bread is a plain naan for example. Overall it was OK and good value for money but I might not necessarily return anytime soon.
This has been our favourite London restaurant for many years. Outstanding in every way.
Food tasted like many of the dishes were made using the same base sauce but slightly adapted depending on the description of the dish.
Service was pleasant but a bit slow.
quality food at reasonable prices. ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Service was really slow even though Restaurant was quiet, portions were small for the price. I have been here before and it was fantastic. Not sure I would return.
The best food I have ever eaten in London. The spicy bread and lamb is out of this world.
Very tasty food
Excellent and friendly customer service
The food was delicious; spicy but not too hot and the waiter was very helpful in explaining the dishes to us. The cheese starter and king prawns main course were particularly good. It got very busy after 8pm, and the service became slower, but still a very pleasing experience overall. I would definitely recommend it.
It was my son's birthday and the staff made him feel very special. As always the food and service and environment were exceptional. It is a wonderful place. I highly recommend it.
Never had a bad meal in here. The food is delicious!
Really enjoyed the food, very tasty and fresh. Side dishes lacked umph in favouring. Aloo broccoli was a tad watery. The lamb (on the hoy plate) was divine as was the chicken. Service very good attentive but not invasive. Great atmosphere.
Was a little pricey. But otherwise very good
Have already recommended to colleagues
Fantastic food, attentive service, good atmosphere, good Nepalese beer!
Everything was great. Really lovely food and service
A lovely restaurant in Balham. Lovely varied food and different enough if you want something other than what you would get in a regular Indian restaurant. Nepal has some very tasty dishes that suit all palates.
The restaurant was very patient with the children. Good service.
The food was good. Easy to get to, not noisy. Quick service too
GREAT food and was served quick, waited a while to pay the bill, but the large group of people we were sitting next to were extremely noisy, so much so I couldn't hear a word my partner was saying most of the time and it kind of spoilt our evening, but all in all it's a great place.
just wish people would have a little respect for other diners who don't want to hear other people shouting over each other to be heard.
Great restaurant and lovely food as always. Never had something I didn’t like
Couldn’t rate this place more highly. My girlfriend and I are going to Nepal later this month, so we decided to get a taste of the cuisine before travelling. The food was beautifully presented and absolutely DELICIOUS. We started with the momos, served with an addictive spicy sauce (we cleaned the plate), and the fried courgette, sliced and covered in kind of like a tempura batter, but softer and thicker, also a winner. For main dishes we chose a creamy-yet-punchy Rana Chicken, and a portion of richly flavoured Kathmandu Pork. On the side, some delicately spiced broccoli and potatoes, fluffy white rice and some seriously good garlicky bread. All washed down with a couple of Nepalese beers. Staff were friendly and attentive, prices are reasonable, and the setting is homely and comfortable. Go there, you won’t regret it. We’ll be coming back for sure.
A most enjoyable evening. The restaurant was very busy but people spoke quietly and were considerate. The food was good and beautifully presented. White starched cloths and napkins give a sense of caring management with a flair for what works. Waiters were careful when taking orders with no sense of impatience when people were slow about choices. All in all an excellent experience.
Delicious food and lovely staff - would highly recommend!
The food here is lovely and the staff are very friendly. Nice place to catch up for a quiet meal with friends.
There are not many Nepali restaurants about. This one has really fabulous food and unintrusive service which make it a really good place to go with friends for a delicious meal and a good long chat.
Disappointing. Husband's chicken was very dry and the service very rushed. Would not go back. Not good value for money far better places to go.
The food was really delicious, and whilst service was initially very good we were not offered dessert menus or coffee, nor drinks top ups at any point, so left feeling a bit ignored. But overall we would definitely go back as the food was amazing.
Great Restaurant and lovely alternative to the same old Indian menus.
Friendly, efficient service with delicious food.
We always come here for an authentic Nepalese meal and anyone we introduce to this restaurant always comes back!
Great curry, very busy on a Friday night so good atmosphere but only downside is all the hard surfaces meant it is very noisy, maybe could do with finding a way to soften the acoustics!
Booked here for a quiet birthday dinner for my partner and I. Really relaxed and quality meal and service. Have already recommended it to a friend
