good food, good service, better to make reservation ahead to avoid long wait.
The food was great. Service was a little slow but was great anyway with the short staff they have. Waiters were very nice and helpful.
New Year’s Eve dinner
There’s no one there to check us in or take us to our table. No one even come by and say “we will be right with you” they just walked by and keep doing whatever they were doing. Our waitress was really polite but keep pushing us to order when we told her we need a bit more time. The food was good and I would go again but they need to improve their service.
Food was fantastic, but they didn’t have sake and the service was good but not great ( no water offered, or plates/silverware)
Food was good. Server said there was no bartender so unable to make requested drinks. Only drinks available where the ones they already had premixed or beers.
Good food, good service, and good experience. Would recommend.
Good food and great service. A fun experience and a good value.
Great happy hour specials!
We used to love going to Gyu-kaku every week. However, they changed up their menu and removed one of our favorite dishes. Additionally, prices have nearly doubled so the value is unfortunately not there anymore. The service has also started going down hill where we didn't get our waters refilled and had to wait a good 7 minutes before we saw someone where we could ask for a check.
Great experience and service. Always a good time!
A fantastic dinner with very attentive servers. We left full and happy.
Food was good and dinner company was fun. Service was amateur and lazy. At the end of the meal there were five water glasses on below halfway full; two of them completely empty and an empty beer glass. At no no time during the entire meal did the server offer to refill any drinks. Additionally, used plates and trash from straws and chopsticks, etc. were left on the table to accumulate, and never cleared until we left. Really?! Yes. Really. J.V. Disappointing. Food experience and gimmicks will bring you the first time. Service brings you back. There are dozens of Korean and Japanese barbecue competitors out there. We will not return to this one.
Food is good as usual, but the service is poor, need to wait for long time to get the order and food.
Inexperienced male host seated us away from everyone including the servers, no one acknowledged us for 20 minutes so we decided to leave. We couldn’t even get our waters. This has never happened to us so it’s probably one of those “days”. We were disappointed as the Plano location was our favorite. Hopefully the service gets better and the host gets better training and floor awareness on where he seats parties.
Love it , Great Service and good Happy Hour
I feel like the service is kinda slow today. We come in with 4 pp. All food come in except silverwares! YES NO SILVERWARE! Food is good as always. There’s nothing to criticize ab the food. So when silverware were brought out. There are only 3 set of it but we have 4 and have to wait a while on it. They kept bringing one by one so it’s pretty annoying. It’s our favorite spot so we definitely come back but hope that the service will get better (:
Great location and service
Price increased a lot
Quality decreased a lot
This was our first time at the Plano location. My husband and I went for his birthday and both ordered the unlimited, all you can eat. After waiting for 45 mins, we finally got our first round of meats delivered to our table. We decided to talk to manager since everyone around us was getting their food promptly and with the all you can eat, you are only given an allotted time to eat. With an hour in and only getting our first order of meat, we felt like something needed to be said, since we are paying $$$ for basically rice and apps at that point. The assistant manager was able to help get the rest of our order quickly. I’m not sure if this was a bad night for the restaurant, but it wasn’t a good experience for us. We will definitely go back another night, because the food was delicious, once we received it. Hopefully our next visit will be better.
The foods were so good. Everything was good except for the waiter's attitude toward us when we turn off the BBQ stove on the table.
Great place, just wish the music was a bit quieter lol
The place was not clean and the service was slow. The food was just okay - we’ve had MUCH better Asian BBQ. This is also quite expensive for what it is and they play loud Japanese hip hop all night. Not impressed at all. Won’t be going again.
We actually ended up eating there that day. We were there for the 11am reservation and all apps indicated it was already open, but the door was locked with no indication of opening. Was forced to leave at 11:07am.
Great Fun! Good times, memorable experience with our table of 8. We ordered the Shogun meal with extras. Probably could have used more food. Men eat alot. Rice was the best tasting rice we've ever had! Not enough veggies , too shy on mushrooms and zucchini, salad was good tho. The frozen mango sangria was made from real mangoes and was super tasty!
Like all restaurants these days, GK seemed to be stretched to meet the Saturday night demand
You could tell the service staff was doing their best
Just recommend if you go here or anywhere at peak time to increase your tolerance of the team trying to make your experience great
Had the happy hour, the meat and offering was very good!
The food was awesome, the service was amazing, and overall, the experience was excellent! I recommend the tuna volcano, the shrimp siu mai, and the kalbi ribs.
Went with a group of 8. My husband and I were the only 2 that had been to a Gyu-Kaku before (we love it). Our friends enjoyed the food and we had a blast!
Great food, a variety of flavors available. It is a nice experience and great service.
Food is fantastic. They didn’t have many of the cocktails we wanted to order. Service was poor. It was our first time at this type of restaurant and our server did not help explain how it worked. We had to constantly flag her down to get her attention. Probably won’t go back.
Excellent food and service
Our server was very considerate and did a fantastic job!!! Thanks for the great food and the outstanding service!
This was a Birthday Celebration. By far, the poorest service experience by far.
- The table was filthy. The grill area was caked with sauce/food.
- Service was at an all time LOW. We had to flag our waiter down to order food. We had to flag him down to remind him of our drink orders. We had to remind waiter countless times about missing food.
- The plates & silverware/tongs given to us were filthy, had leftover food on them. When waiter was notified, he took silverware back to kitchen & stated that he tried to wash/scrub off remainder of food. We had to wipe silverware down before using. This was disgusting to say the very least.
- waited often times 20-30 minutes for food items, while we watched table beside us *which sat 20 minutes after us receive same entrees that our table ordered before their arrival. Again, had to raise our hands & call out to waiter to remind him of what we ordered.
- bathroom (ladies) was filthy, no toilet paper
By far the worst dining experience.
Son’s friend joined us. It was his first time
I understand there’s a shortage of servers right now and we could feel that at dinner. We had to look for our server several times to take dishes away, change out the grill and order more food.
It’s my friend’s birthday and we loves it here. Loves the food, love the atmosphere. The server is really nice to tell the restaurant and gives us a free dessert!!!! Great customer services. Definitely coming back.
Great selection of meats and other menu items on all the different AYCE options. I really like the environment of the Plano location compared to Addison; as it is slightly larger which allows for more spacious tables or booths. Wish there was a location on the west side of the DFW metroplex closer to mid-cities.
