Have been there multiple times, the best japanese bbq and curry in central london
Hachi restaurant is very good. Especially I like foods and service.
Very high quality meat. Not many marinated pieces of meat (although they do have them), as the meat is very good and tender on its own, not needing marinate.
As a big fan of Sukiyaki it was great to find this little gem in the heart of the westend that serves it in individual portions.
The staff and service were great and the restaurant was very conscious of covid security which made us all feel very comfortable while eating a delicious meal.
Great food, nice atmosphere and friendly staff. We will be back!
Service was lovely with smiley staff. Had a great time celebrating hubby’s bday!
I’ve been to Hachi last Saturday and had a pleasant experience overall. A bit too expensive though. Especially the drinks. Service was lovely.
So good so yummy very authentic Japanese bbq with beautifully marbled meat from different parts of cow , great fine ambience
Ive been there for a quite few times. It is always one of my favorite restaurants in London. If you want to have authentic Japanese BBQ, you should give it a try!
My friend and I love Hachi a lot. We ordered menu BBQ set for 2 people which included various meats and veggies. I think it worth the price, can even serve for 3 people , we were definitely full. Staff are friendly and helpful as well, feels like back to Japan. However, I would only say the ventilation could be better. I recommend everyone try this Japanese BBQ restaurant.
Avoid the oysters, everything else was amazing! recommended
Good quality of foods, drinks and facilities. Want to go again.
Very good and not too pricy. Many Japanese expats, always a good sign. Very friendly service. Good cv-19 procedures, they're doing the right things serilusly
Very reasonable prices
Very good authentic japanese bbq, brought back the memories of our visits to Japan!
It is a unique dining experience, if you have the BBQ you cook it at yourself on an electric BBQ built into the table. So bring someone who knows how to cook beef!
The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was delicious, both the dishes we cooked ourselves and the ones cooked for us. I’ll definitely go again.
Excellent food, feels like in Japan.
The meat are sliced very thin especially the chicken because once you grill it it shrink and nothing left.
Staff standing in front of us while where eating and it’s bother us sometimes.
Oysters is too soft for grilling keeps falling some of the bits. Beef is a not tasty, I was expecting it is seasoned or marinated with teriyaki sauce. We had fun grilling esp. my kids. Glad our bill is discounted otherwise it is expensive.
I came here with my partner, got to the door and inside and waited about 5 minutes before anyone took notice of us to seat us.
After being seated we were given one menu only so I had to grab one of the other table which the waiter could have just got for me but instead wanted us to share. We sat and looked at the menu for a further 15 minutes and no one came to even take our drinks let alone our food. There was about 2/3 people standing there doing nothing.
We decided to get up and leave and even on our way out they took no notice.
Only go here if you like being ignored and slow service.
Great food, expensive for the quantity but it's good quality!
-Food being served late, we almost starved to death.
-Good wide range of Japanese liquor selections.
-Barbecue food actually are not as good as other foods i.e. appetizer and soups, the reason might be those raw meats were not well-cured. Overall quality is okay.
-A bit pricey, even with the eat out scheme discount still can easily do a £40 per person.
-Authentic Japanese staffs ：）made food with their passion.
The food was amazing! Softest and tastiest meat in very authentic Japsnese Korean BBQ flavour. Very pricy if you only go for expensive cut. But I had to. Restaurant was not smoky at all with high-grade grill.
Hachi will remain my fav barbecue place. Oyster blade and tri tip are must try.
The meat quality is super! Nice environment and great services.
Great restaurant, nice small palte food that you cook on your table.
Lovely meal, thank you
First time amazing experience. My wife love it. A bit expensive if you are hungry due of the portions are small, but apart of that 9/10. Great taste top quality . Friendly and quick service staff. I will definitely come back.
It’s a nice Japanese restaurant in London. All the meat were nice, apart from the beef tongue. We was expecting more about it. If you think about you are in London not Japan, it’s still a nice choice to go.
Best bbq place I’ve ever been. The food was high quality, service was exact and exceptional. Very modern styling inside. The sauces were so delicious. Perfect place for a date or outing with friends
Excellent quality of food and friendly service. Staff are very attentive.
We really enjoyed our experience, it was our first time on a Japanese BBQ and we loved it, food was amazing and it’s very fun.
Tasty meat in BBQ. Smaller portions than other places I’ve been - so felt more expensive.
The food is amazing. We love the BBQ’s couldn’t decide if the beef skirt / duck / pork was best. I’ve been twice now so we ordered it all at the same time to decide and it’s the beef. Also the butter and soy sauce edamame is delicious. We want to try the beef cheese stew next time.
Honestly I’m a food snob and a Londoner and this is one of my fave meals out...
I had a nice time as the experience and atmosphere of the restaurant is delightful and the staff is very friendly and welcoming, however, the food was over-priced for how little you received, and the selection of Hot Pots are all made from the same seafood-based broth, the only difference being the meats that they throw in, and the price they charge for it. Having an allergy to shellfish, mushrooms, and eggs, I was not expecting to get all three in the Chicken Hot Pot. Though the staff handled the situation very well, apologising and removing the dish from our bill, I just wish that the allergens were clearly shown rather than having a small note on the bottom of the menu telling the customer to ask directly for the list of allergens.
There are only a few authentic Japanese BBQ restaurants in the central London for now (some are called so but it’s mostly run by Chinese or Korean -like lots of other Japanese places all over the world)
This place has casual atmosphere and decent Japanese staff, definitely authentic.
The quality of the meats are much better than the other Japanese BBQ place(, which is just a low-budget chain in Japan and most of the staff working at London branches are non-Japanese and terrible service, ok-ish food only during happy hour taking price value into account especially at their branch in Oxford Circus. Their another branch in Holborn was good just after they opened several years ago thanks to the manager transferred to arrange their launch and train staff though. Anyway we don’t admit it’s good quality. Just cheap stuff)
The price range at this restaurant is quite reasonable albeit the good quality of the food, especially meats.
Good choice of drinks, which variety is also like in Japan plus good for value too!
If you would also like to enjoy other Japanese dishes for a starter or side, you would better not expect much at here as this place doesn’t have many options for it, but that’s authentic style and just right for proper Japanese BBQ.
I’ll defiantly go back there sometime soon :)
Our booking was a late one, 9:30pm on a Saturday. We felt rushed, as our courses arrived very quickly and all at the same time. The waiter gave us the bill without us asking for it, but we wanted to have dessert (sorbet, the only one on the menu) and couldn't. The food was fine for the price paid, but the experience was nothing beyond ok.
First time there, very nice and not busy. Funny and the portions are good. Would come back definitely.
One of my favourite bbq place in London
