Hack & Veldt
Amazing food and atmosphere, plus amazing service from Charlie. 100% recommend and we will be booking again!
Everything great if your willing to wait 40 minutes for a cheese and meat dish.
What a hidden gem!
It is a lovely little restaurant (shop/café during the day) with a nice atmosphere and exceptional customer service. I would recommend Hack & Veldt to all, and do intend to return myself!
Beautiful ambiance - great food - lovely date night!
Cosy setting in a deli that works really well. Not too many tables so well worth booking in the evening. Informal and relaxed with really friendly staff. The menu isn’t the biggest but plenty of nice choices. I had lovely , warm sourdough bread with oil and olives to start. My main was amazing plump gnocchi filled with Comte cheese and a nice pepper sauce. We shared a good bottle of rosé. A nice quirky place that I would visit again.
Lovely birthday dinner and amazing staff - highly recommended!!
This was a perfect venue for what we wanted, which was a quiet friendly place with an intimate atmosphere to sit and have a glass of wine and some fine cheeses for a couple of hours late evening.
Always a fabulous venue for a casual get together with friends. The mezze platter never disappoints and the wine selection is excellent. Friendly and helpful staff.
Fabulous place to catch up with a friend for a casual drink and a light bite. The cheese plate was ample and delicious. Wines by the glass or bottle. Very friendly staff. Cannot fault.
The food was lovely but it didn't require a lot of skill as it was cold meats and cheeses but was attractively presented and the bread was smashing too. And we really liked our waiter, Toby, who was very friendly. Couldn't believe it was his first day on the job.
Simple menu with delicious food and friendly service!
Perfect evening- thanks to all the guys for making it so special!
Very bad experience when discussing with the manager on duty after not allowing me and my daughter (14 yrs old) to have dinner at 19:30 hrs. After being there more than 3-4 times, the manager said rules changed therefore I was not allowed to sit in the place and to have a dinner. Really bad experience after trying to discuss with the manager and staff in place. Won’t be back never again !!!
I took my boyfriend to Hack and Veldt for his birthday, and we had a lovely evening. There are some tables within the deli for drinks, with a very nice ambiance and we had a delicious cheese and cured meats sharing platter. Great for popping in with friends, for a quick drink, on a date, and staying for food/going on for dinner nearby like we did. Lots of flexibility with this place and happy hour on some nights! Topped off by cake to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday, which was a real treat. We will definitely be visiting again!
Loved it - again!!!
I visit often in day. Wouldn’t return in evening. Only for wines. For veggies not great. Pies & leaves.
It saddens me that you have reached this conclusion. Currently, our vegetarian options are pastas, platters, soups, stews and cheese boards which all boast meat free credentials. I have found that you are referring to vegan options, of which we have pies, soups and stews. Unfortunately, due to us being a delicatessen our menu is designed using all the treats a deli would stock, this being mainly meats and cheese. As you could imagine, this isn’t the natural home for Vegan foods. Apologies.
Friendly service, good quality food, reasonable price, relaxed ambience. Will go back.
Just had coffee and soft drinks. Made very welcome, excellent waiters, nice atmosphere. Cool on a very hot day. Didn’t have food, but it looked excellent
Took my wife and our puppy there for dinner on her birthday. Had the sharing meat/cheese platter. Absolutely delicious!
Plus, it's one of the few dinner restaurants that allow pups in :-)
We had a lovely time at Hack & Veldt. We weren’t too sure what to order but the Manager was very helpful and explained the different charcuterie boards to us. He even suggested which wines to pair with the meal. The staff kept the evening flowing really well and we didn’t feel pushed through our meal. The Manager and his team clearly know what they’re doing at this place. Will definitely come again!
A great find - so pleased we followed our daughter's recommendation. Lovely food in great surroundings. We couldn't help buying some of the items from the delicatessen shelves before we left. If you like small and informal with a touch of class, this is definitely for you!
I always love this place. Great for a cosy date night - especially good cheese and wine selection!
Limited menu. Cosy place for wine and nibbles but main pasta dishes unimaginative and dry.
Fantastic experience as always. My local haunt!
Better in the day than at night.
This establishment should not be classed a Restaurant. The Restaurant menu was as limited as the portion sizes. Not economical.
This place is a little gem. It is a stine’s throw from Turnham Green tube station so there is no long walk. It is small, cosy and has a lovely relaxed atomosphere. We had three sharing plates and bottle of wine and that was plenty. The cheese was excellent, the charcuterie was a substantial board of excellent meats and the duck rillet was very tasty. The staff were friendly and polite. I will definitely be heading back there again. I really liked the place.
This place is absolutely amazing, from start to finish!
Lovely; unlike anywhere else I've been; darling service; cosy candlelit space; sitting with very few others in an actual deli... unbeatable for a low-key Saturday evening.
Really nice service provided and nice wine selection. They have some great olives as well. I've been there before for a coffee but decided to pop in during the evening for a drink. I also love all the speciality and organic groceries.
Lovely dining experience with great service - Small but atmospheric.
Great place, great vibes... would recommend a friend.
I love it here, the food is amazing and the ambiance is wonderful. It is a small and intimate venue which I also really like. On this occasion the service wasn't great which is a shame as the last time I went the service was excellent. I would definitely go again though!
A really lovely meal in a chilled out venue
We Love Hack & Veldt - It's possibly our favourite spot in Chiswick.
If you want a quiet, relaxed evening with a glass of wine and an amazing cheese and meat board that regularly changes, then this place is great. The atmosphere is intimate - Everything is lit by candles - music is quiet and chilled.
Strongly recommend for quiet dinner for two
I had a really lovely evening at Hack & Veldt! The ambience is perfect, with candles on the table and a good choice of music in the background. The cocktails are amazing; I'd highly recommend the Porn Star and Espresso Martinis. To eat, I had the Mixed Platter (with a top-notch Chablis) which was beautifully presented and really fresh. The staff are friendly and professional, and they clearly know what they're doing! There was no sense of being rushed, yet I felt perfectly attended too. I rounded off the evening with a yummy Monmouth flat white. This place has everything going for it... I can't wait to go back!
Went here on a night out. Very nice atmosphere and great service! We had some cocktails to start with then shared a mixed platter, which was very tasty. They have a nice choice of wines by the glass (Albarinio = Divine!),, and even managed to some evening shopping whilst there. Great new find! Highly recommend!!
Cool quirky place - we enjoyed the charcuterie board very much (the chorizo was great). It was also lovely to see our food being prepared fresh from the deli!
Great selection of wine by the glass or you can choose any bottle from the shelf and pay a corkage (awesome)
Highly recommended for a quiet evening of spoiling yourself!
