Ideal place for a date or meal with a friend as it has the right kind of ambience and setting without feeling overly stuffy and formal. We were served by a lovely blond waitress (can’t recall her name) who was knowledgeable of the menu and pleasant to chat with. Value is as you’d expect for this kind of London venue, however I feel I’ve walked away from similar priced meals elsewhere and been slightly more impressed with the food. Would wholly recommend though and will visit again.

Service was relaxed yet efficient and we were able to have a lingering lunch without feeling pressured to vacate the table. When we arrived we were given the à la carte menu but not the set lunch menu. This was handed to us when we asked but, had we not done so, I suspect we would not have been made aware of its existence. Then, only after we ordered a bottle of wine and had begun to drink it, were we told that the set menu included a glass of fizz. However, we had an enjoyable time, meeting tasty food in pleasant surroundings.

I've been to the bar here before and enjoyed the atmosphere. However, the restaurant was very disappointing. The service was very slow. It took more than 10 minutes to bring a glass of wine ordered at the table. The menu is seriously over-priced. £32 for cottage pie? And that's before any sides? Seriously? Overall a very disappointing night. I'd suggest going to Ivy Soho Brasserie or Dean Street Townhouse where the food/service/value is much better. Sorry, Ham Yard but I won't be back.

Have been quite a few times but it was the first time for my sister in law she loved it and because I let them know it was a treat for my sister in laws 70th Birthday they kindly brought out a cake and candle with special writing on the plate nice touch . She said she would be taking her family there that they would like it. Well done Ham Yard

Enjoyed the pre theatre menu - delicious range on the menu. The one thing that let it down was the accompanying Prosecco which tasted sweet and a little cheap.

Unfortunately the main courses on the set menu didn’t match the rest of my experience. The smoke on the fish was over powering and I found the Aubergine very bitter. Desserts were delicious. Service amazing. The set menu would have been amazing value if the main course matched the desserts.

The rest of my experience was first class, all the staff were very helpfuland professional. Great atmosphere

Having had really great lunches here a couple of time before, we arranged a birthday lunch for a parent’s 75th birthday celebration. The set lunch is always fantastic value and the service is outstanding. Having mentioned to the staff that we wanted a relaxed lunch we were not at all rushed and stayed at our our table for over three hours.

The Ham Yard never fails to impress.

Whilst you could see the restaurant was busy, it took them half an hour to ask us what we wanted to eat. The soup was great however my main dish was at best warm. I am not so sure I would rush back

It is lovely and the waiters were pleasant but we took the set menu, and I had to go and get food afterwards as the cauliflower salad was tiny and the pork belly was minuscule. We were not offered bread went we could see bread been given to other customers that were not on the set menu. So I would not go back and might recommend it but not strongly if you want a decent size dinner

This was my third visit to Ham Yard and my 2 friends had not been before - the service was fantastic and the lunch special menu delicious -with our complimentary glass of Prosecco so terrific value. We were not rushed at all and they took care to give me options due to my wheat intolerance -which I have to say were tasty( sometimes the GF alternatives are not so appetising). No doubt we will all return.

We stupidly had the set menu. The food portions were outrageous. Clearly this was made in the most economical way possible. I am not sure I have ever seen a smaller piece of fish served.

The portions were incredibly small. If I had known they would be so meagre I would have ordered from the main menu.

Overall, I would never go back.

A second visit, this time for lunch and I was equally impressed as I was the first time when I had Afternoon Tea. It is a lovely place to visit and you are not rushed at all. Delicious food, very attentive service, beautiful decor and so convenient for shopping, theatres and museums in the West End. Don't be put off by the fact that it is a restaurant in an hotel as it is not stuffy in the slightest and as a guest visiting the restaurant, you are treated extremely courteously.
