Hambleton Hall Ratings and Reviews
The service was second to none for ten of us in the private dining room on January 14th, despite the main dining room being absolutely full for Sunday Lunch. As always, the food was excellent (with the serving staff able to answer all questions about the menu), and the Sommelier able to recommend interesting and 'different' wines for us to enjoy.
The attention to detail by the staff was much appreciated - after-lunch coffee set up for us around the open fire with comfortable seating, etc.
Hambleton Hall seems to have got it 'just right'.
Thank you - we couldn't have asked for more.
My wife and I celebrated our Golden Wedding with a superb lunch, in the most unforgettable surroundings. The staff went out of their way to make it memorable. I do not think there is any other venue in the country that could achieve such perfection. Hambleton Hall deserves 6 stars
Hambleton Hall is set back from the village and offers rooms with views across Rutland water.
We were shown in the lounge and offered drinks whilst we looked at the menu. They offer a tasting menu or a 3 - 4 course lunch. We selected the 3 course lunch and I chose the fish as a middle course. The dining room was quite busy as it was the week before Christmas and the lunch was well worth it and the portions were fine and you didn't leave feeling hungry. The dishes were very well presented and all perfectly cooked from the fish to the beef short rib.
Overall a lovely unhurried lunch and would certainly consider returning and staying at Hambleton Hall.
The atmosphere is so nice in such a winter nice. The longe made us feel like home. A quite but mild place. People talking around even you don’t know them, still feel like home.
The dinning is classic Michelin style. We have tasting menu, not every dish set me well but I know which to pick now.
Again the environment is perfect for dating
We had lunch at Hambleton Hall to mark an imminent wedding anniversary. Upon receiving our personalised menus were made to feel special. The staff were attentive and friendly without being overbearing. The meal, an extended ‘lunch for less’, was excellent in every respect, reasonable portions, flavoursome and beautifully presented. All in all, a memorable occasion which we will repeat at an early opportunity. Thank you.
I was 60 this year and wanted to do something every month, Hambleton hall dining was something I'd wanted to do for a long time, food was excellent, service was excellent the whole experience was excellent, I hope it won't be too long before I can repeat the experience.
This is high end stuff. If you can do this every week or even every month you're missing the treat that is Hamblelton Hall, this is special. Good as ever, if not better. Few staff changes since the last time I was there. Food, setting everything excellent, could not be faulted.
10th visit and I always get excited at the prospect of eating at Hambleton Hall. Great food great staff...nothing else to say...I travel a round trip of 80 miles to dine there and would always recommend this place to those that like tasty food and good service. If you like Harvester pubs this isn't the place for you.
This was a birthday surprise lunch for my husbands birthday. And when they discovered it was a birthday meal they had my husbands name printed on the menu for a keepsake. The service from arriving to leaving was excellent. The food was delicious.
I look forward to making a return visit.
A beautiful building with stunning views. I brought my husband here for his birthday, we both enjoy meals out and good food.
We were not disappointed.
The food was amazing, and with 3 menus to choose from it would suit anyone.
Although it is slightly on the pricy side it is completely worth it. You get what you pay for, top quality, beautifully presented good.
We would visit again- but for a special occasion again!
Smashing food, brilliant sommelier, thought the addition 12.5% service charge was a bit below the belt. Service was good but not quite up with other Michelin star places; staff were mouthing to each other across the room, and having the odd giggle etc. Nothing major just didn't look all the professional. Food was brilliant, and everything we'd hoped for.
Lamb pastrami outstanding, as was the wine flight.
This is our go to venue for special occasion dining.
The Hall is beautiful and very well cared for.
The staff are impeccably turned out and charming.
The menu is innovative and always delicious.
I love the soufflés which are as light as air and full of flavour.
2nd wedding anniversary. We are in our late 20s and, despite knowing this to be a really ambitious venue for someone our age, felt entirely welcomed and valued. It is certainly a place for the older and more affluent diner, but their lunch for less menu (still came to £150) helps a lot. I absolutely love the place: I enjoy saving up knowing that I can enjoy the situation once every year or so, and just be part of a place that simply does everything well. Dress smartly (casual), find some people you know will love fantastic food and wine and don't mind paying lots, and be prepared for the most wonderful time. Stunning views if the weather allows. The service is perfect and they will do anything for you, including sorting out taxis. It is a quiet place and it would be a shame to have the atmosphere spoilt by obnoxious people, so chose your guests wisely. You really might as well buy wine as the beer prices are very high, but that's no hardship surely? Fabulous, fabulous place.
Lunch at Hambleton Hall for my daughter' 18th birthday was wonderful making this milestone birthday really memorable and special for her. She had not experienced anything quite like and was blown away by the flavours she experienced and the presentation of the food. All of the restaurant and bar staff were extremely attentive and professional throughout, which added to the whole experience making it extra special for us all.
A truly sumptuous evening with impeccable food and service. We visited for my partner's birthday and enjoyed a 4 course meal which they were more than happy to adapt for my partner's wheat intolerance.
The setting is exquisite with stunning views from the terrace over Rutland water. I recommend getting there early before your seating time to soak up the stunning gardens with spectacular views.
my husband booked this special lunch for me for my birthday ,the setting was perfect and the champagne was as perfect .The lunch was superb in every way and we both really took in the whole afternoon as it was delightful .After a walk through the gardens we left but not without booking again ,this time for a weekend for my husbands birthday in sept .
