Hambleton Hall Ratings and Reviews
We had lunch at Hambleton Hall to mark an imminent wedding anniversary. Upon receiving our personalised menus were made to feel special. The staff were attentive and friendly without being overbearing. The meal, an extended ‘lunch for less’, was excellent in every respect, reasonable portions, flavoursome and beautifully presented. All in all, a memorable occasion which we will repeat at an early opportunity. Thank you.
I was 60 this year and wanted to do something every month, Hambleton hall dining was something I'd wanted to do for a long time, food was excellent, service was excellent the whole experience was excellent, I hope it won't be too long before I can repeat the experience.
This is high end stuff. If you can do this every week or even every month you're missing the treat that is Hamblelton Hall, this is special. Good as ever, if not better. Few staff changes since the last time I was there. Food, setting everything excellent, could not be faulted.
10th visit and I always get excited at the prospect of eating at Hambleton Hall. Great food great staff...nothing else to say...I travel a round trip of 80 miles to dine there and would always recommend this place to those that like tasty food and good service. If you like Harvester pubs this isn't the place for you.
This was a birthday surprise lunch for my husbands birthday. And when they discovered it was a birthday meal they had my husbands name printed on the menu for a keepsake. The service from arriving to leaving was excellent. The food was delicious.
I look forward to making a return visit.
A beautiful building with stunning views. I brought my husband here for his birthday, we both enjoy meals out and good food.
We were not disappointed.
The food was amazing, and with 3 menus to choose from it would suit anyone.
Although it is slightly on the pricy side it is completely worth it. You get what you pay for, top quality, beautifully presented good.
We would visit again- but for a special occasion again!
Smashing food, brilliant sommelier, thought the addition 12.5% service charge was a bit below the belt. Service was good but not quite up with other Michelin star places; staff were mouthing to each other across the room, and having the odd giggle etc. Nothing major just didn't look all the professional. Food was brilliant, and everything we'd hoped for.
Lamb pastrami outstanding, as was the wine flight.
This is our go to venue for special occasion dining.
The Hall is beautiful and very well cared for.
The staff are impeccably turned out and charming.
The menu is innovative and always delicious.
I love the soufflés which are as light as air and full of flavour.
2nd wedding anniversary. We are in our late 20s and, despite knowing this to be a really ambitious venue for someone our age, felt entirely welcomed and valued. It is certainly a place for the older and more affluent diner, but their lunch for less menu (still came to £150) helps a lot. I absolutely love the place: I enjoy saving up knowing that I can enjoy the situation once every year or so, and just be part of a place that simply does everything well. Dress smartly (casual), find some people you know will love fantastic food and wine and don't mind paying lots, and be prepared for the most wonderful time. Stunning views if the weather allows. The service is perfect and they will do anything for you, including sorting out taxis. It is a quiet place and it would be a shame to have the atmosphere spoilt by obnoxious people, so chose your guests wisely. You really might as well buy wine as the beer prices are very high, but that's no hardship surely? Fabulous, fabulous place.
Lunch at Hambleton Hall for my daughter' 18th birthday was wonderful making this milestone birthday really memorable and special for her. She had not experienced anything quite like and was blown away by the flavours she experienced and the presentation of the food. All of the restaurant and bar staff were extremely attentive and professional throughout, which added to the whole experience making it extra special for us all.
A truly sumptuous evening with impeccable food and service. We visited for my partner's birthday and enjoyed a 4 course meal which they were more than happy to adapt for my partner's wheat intolerance.
The setting is exquisite with stunning views from the terrace over Rutland water. I recommend getting there early before your seating time to soak up the stunning gardens with spectacular views.
my husband booked this special lunch for me for my birthday ,the setting was perfect and the champagne was as perfect .The lunch was superb in every way and we both really took in the whole afternoon as it was delightful .After a walk through the gardens we left but not without booking again ,this time for a weekend for my husbands birthday in sept .
My husband and I went there for lunch and ate from the 'Lunch for Less' menu. Although choice is limited the food was beautifully presented, full of flavour and good value. The service was very attentive without being intrusive. There is a selection of bread served with lunch from the excellent Hambleton Bakery.
It was a lovely sunny day and we were able to enjoy our pre lunch drinks and coffee on the terrace overlooking the gatdens and Rutland Water.
We would highly recommend for a special occasion.
Wonderful place for celebrating birthdays etc. Staff & food excellent. The view is outstanding and a visit to Hambleton Hall is a must for anyone's bucket list. I would think it would be a dream location for a wedding venue. We enjoyed our whole experience and cant wait to revisit.
Booked for lunch and from the moment we arrived the extremely professional, friendly and genuine service from all the staff was superb
We decided to combine a la Carte with the set lunch menu and every single dish was truly exceptional.
I now know why this marvellous country house hotel has held a Michelin Star without loss for 34 years.
I really have no hesitation in recommending Hambleton Hall.
