From the moment of arrival we were treated as cared for customers. Nothing was too much trouble. Every member of staff was friendly, genuine and sincere. The food was outstanding and delicious. Beautiful presentation and the most intense flavours. Out of this world!
Treated my mum to a lovely birthday lunch, would definitely return.
Fabulous as always, love the new metal straws! Hambleton Hall is always my go to place for a special occasion. The service and food are always impeccable.
The gluten free bread was not good.Main portion is small.
Service was amazing everything to details. Food best I’ve eaten. Could not faulty anything. Perfect from start to finish. Will be back
Had an amazing time celebrating my partners birthday, perfect for a special occasion.
Fabulous fine dining - lunch for less though is not really as the title suggests... as £11.50 for a Gordon’s and tonic is a bit steep! But good amazing and so was the service- for a special event - very nice.... although we did joke by saying at 52 we were the youngest by 20 years!!
This is our favourite place to celebrate birthdays or any special occasion or just lunch together. Everything about the experience is excellent, everyone works to achieve the highest standard but without being oppressive and the setting is wonderful.
What an amazing meal, everything superbly presented and sumptuous. Would definitely recommend booking for a special occasion, well worth the money.
We went last Sunday and had a lovely lunch - the sun had finally come out and we had a window seat. The menu had great options and the food that came was aesthetically pleasing as well as full of flavour - it was a shame there was a rogue hair in my main but the manager did apologise profusely and deduct something from the bill as a gesture of good will.
I've now been to 122 michelin star restaurants and some feedback I would give is, and again this is just down to personal preference and what you deem good manners are the two following things:
1. I have a pet dog and I'm an animal lover, but walking into a Relais & Chateaux venue and being met by 3 huge, panting golden labradors which were lolling on the rugs and resting their heads on the sofas did make me cringe. Animals are lovely but there are going to be a lot of people that aren't fans, are scared of them or simply do not want dog hair / drool / mud on their clothes either by standing in the same room or by sitting on said furniture. It's not a 5* experience.
2. As we were sat in the window with fabulous views, we were also getting the sun fully on us. They also had the radiator under the window on full. We asked to have the radiator turned off and the window open (it was a lovely warm day outside) which the happily did after agreeing that it was too warm. During our main course more diners were seated. Without even asking if it was ok, both windows next to us were shut 'because someone else had asked that they be' - now I understand that it is a balancing act of keeping everyone happy but us being told, not even asked, made us feel very unimportant and undervalued as a customer. It resulted in us both being so hot and uncomfortable that we terminated the meal - we didn't eat a dessert and went to the front desk to pay just so we could cool down. For a michelin establishment, I expected FAR FAR better.
Hambleton Hall is always excellent. The service is perfect and the food is a rung above everywhere I have eaten. It’s not cheap but as a bi-monthly treat, I can make my peace with the bill.
I have been visiting Hambleton Hall for a number of years and it continues it maintain its high standards for service, ambiance and excellent food.
Wonderful service, great food and a lovely environment. Loved everything about it.
We loved the atmosphere and were seriously
Impressed by the amazing food!

Hambleton Hall can be relied on to deliver an exceptionally good lunch with new taste combinations on each visit and some unusual ingredients.
A first class dining experience and will go again. For a special occasion it meets all the requirements. The food was exquisite
We came to Hambledon Hall for my Birthday lunch. It could not have been better-a warm welcome, champagne in the atmospheric bar and then the most delicious lunch. Each course was faultless, bursting with flavours and and beautifully prerared. Looking forward to our next visit .
As always, Hambleton Hall exceeded our expectations. The service is charming, the food delicious and beautifully presented and the setting is beautiful.
Hambleton Hall is a firm family favourite for celebrating special occasions as the whole experience of being there is delightful.
Excellent as always . Interesting menu with the bonus of Lunch for less if you wish.
Generally nice but certainly didn't get the Michelin star experience. Food was generally nice but the beef was tough and had sinew not removed. They got one of the main course orders wrong and whilst they offered to change it and did discount the bill, that wasn't the point. Lounge for pre-dinner drinks and post dinner coffees was nice. Cobwebs on the ornate picture frames wasn't a good look.
Fantastic all round. Excellent seasonal testing menu.
Superb setting and great food. Would definitely go again and so would our friends.
Perfectly lovely - beautiful setting, relaxed ambiance, very attentive service, fantastic food and wine
Fine dining experience traditional surroundings modern menu seasonal local delicious
A delicious"Lunch for Even Less" on a weekday outing into Rutland. I have been on a couple of previous occasions with friends and thought it was time my husband enjoyed the experience.
Great lunch for less but the cost of drinks takes a bit of the shine off.Food and service excellent.
The service was second to none for ten of us in the private dining room on January 14th, despite the main dining room being absolutely full for Sunday Lunch. As always, the food was excellent (with the serving staff able to answer all questions about the menu), and the Sommelier able to recommend interesting and 'different' wines for us to enjoy.
The attention to detail by the staff was much appreciated - after-lunch coffee set up for us around the open fire with comfortable seating, etc.
Hambleton Hall seems to have got it 'just right'.
Thank you - we couldn't have asked for more.
This is our favourite place to eat...always a treat with attentive service and delicious food...hard to beat.We would recommend it wholeheartedly and what a beautiful setting.
Excellent venue for a special occasion meal - great food and service
My wife and I celebrated our Golden Wedding with a superb lunch, in the most unforgettable surroundings. The staff went out of their way to make it memorable. I do not think there is any other venue in the country that could achieve such perfection. Hambleton Hall deserves 6 stars
Hambleton Hall is set back from the village and offers rooms with views across Rutland water.
We were shown in the lounge and offered drinks whilst we looked at the menu. They offer a tasting menu or a 3 - 4 course lunch. We selected the 3 course lunch and I chose the fish as a middle course. The dining room was quite busy as it was the week before Christmas and the lunch was well worth it and the portions were fine and you didn't leave feeling hungry. The dishes were very well presented and all perfectly cooked from the fish to the beef short rib.
Overall a lovely unhurried lunch and would certainly consider returning and staying at Hambleton Hall.
The atmosphere is so nice in such a winter nice. The longe made us feel like home. A quite but mild place. People talking around even you don’t know them, still feel like home.
The dinning is classic Michelin style. We have tasting menu, not every dish set me well but I know which to pick now.
Again the environment is perfect for dating
Very busy lunch service but everything from the initial greeting to the coffee and sweet treats was very well presented. The food choices for lunch were varied and extremely well prepared and served.
Location, ambiance, staff, wine and food all excellent. A perfect lunch experience.
Absolutely wonderful experience. From the moment you arrive the staff are amazing. The food is amazing too. A real luxurious treat. Expensive but worth it for a special occasion.
Usual high standards
Makes a Birthday Lunch really special, thank you very much
We had lunch at Hambleton Hall to mark an imminent wedding anniversary. Upon receiving our personalised menus were made to feel special. The staff were attentive and friendly without being overbearing. The meal, an extended ‘lunch for less’, was excellent in every respect, reasonable portions, flavoursome and beautifully presented. All in all, a memorable occasion which we will repeat at an early opportunity. Thank you.
I was 60 this year and wanted to do something every month, Hambleton hall dining was something I'd wanted to do for a long time, food was excellent, service was excellent the whole experience was excellent, I hope it won't be too long before I can repeat the experience.
Hambleton Hall has a lovely atmosphere, with exceptional service and a beautifully crafted and interesting menu. The experience of dining at Hambleton Hall really makes you consider food differently.
