It was quite simply closed. Well done open table!
The restaurant looked super child-friendly, as there was a room for kids to play in. Also, the washing room had two separate toilets: one for the child and one for the adult. There was a large variety of choice on the menu, and there was gluten-free options too.
We visited on our way to the Lyric Theatre which is just up the road. The home made food was excellent & we were made to feel very welcome.
Fantastic food. The monthly special pizza was delicious but the sausage could have done with slightly longer, was a little pink
Very quiet . Not much ambiance. Food ok, nothing really fantastic, portion size smallish. Fish pasta was nice but luke warm.
Went there with my friends - stayed on a roof terrace first for aperitivo, then went downstairs as it was live music night. Amazed at great authentic Italian food (especially Pasta with Lobster) and wonderful desserts (canollo siciliano was perfect!), service very friendly and cosy atmosphere. Amazing night out!
Delicious fresh pasta dishes. Friendly service!
This is the quirkiest place I have ever been to! You feel like you are on holiday, and they have live music. The food was great but it was a little too cold to sit out on their decked balcony. This place is a must
Nicest service I've had in London. Very friendly, very polite people.
Great place for the little. They can play Well while the parents can eat.
This place is a gem. Tucked off the main road you feel you are anywhere but Hammersmith when inside Service excellent , food fantastic and this place will not leave you feeling you have been short changed .
We arrived early and we're oddly greeted by the 'manager' sat at the bar. They had no interest in greeting us when I said we had a reservation. They just replied 'someone is coming' and continued to sit at the bar drinking their wine. So we then were invited to seat ourselves at the table. This is why our reservation was not registered, as no one greeted us, took our information and showed us our table.
We then waited 20 minutes for our order to be taken, this was ok and not unusual, but then waited 30 minutes for our starters to arrive only for the waitress to get the table wrong, and give them to the table next to us, whom had arrived 25 minutes after us. This delayed our meals and meant the orders of both tables were mixed up thereafter. The food was fine but overall the service was terrible. I hardly ever complain about restaurants but on this occasion it really was disappointing.
Great food. Quality ingredients combined with excellent skill and imagination. LOVED it!
Very pleasant environment, ideal for little kids, great service
A great restaurant, delicious food, great wine, very attentive and friendly staff. Definitely recommend.
I hadn't realised Hands in Pasta was quite so family friendly. If you're a lady who lunches, and have a couple of sprogs in tow, this could well be for you. It's really a massive soft play area with a cafe attached. As we wanted a quickish working lunch this perhaps wasn't ideal but that's my fault for not researching it properly. They could be on to something - Hammersmith is increasingly Sloane ranger territory since the less well off ones have been forced west by rising prices, and the yummy mummy overspill from south of the border in Fulham is palpable. The plus points then: Italian staples are tasty and reasonably priced and there's the ability to let your children roam wild and free. On the downside, the service though warm is in the slow side and whilst the noise settles down to a dull roar once the tiny ones have been fed, it's scarcely relaxing. Gnocchi for tiger mums, I think, and a waiting room for people wondering if 4pm's too early to crack open the Prosecco.
My husband booked this for us for a pre-show dinner. We had tickets at the Hammersmith Apollo.
The service was prompt and attentive without being intrusive. The food, was lovely.
It is a good choice for families as it has a children's play area at the back. I guess it would be more adult friendly later in the evening.
The food was nice but not a great quality, I was expecting something more. The atmosphere was friendly but more for families than for couples or business lunch dinner. I don't expect to go back there. However the service was very very nice, well done!
We went for lunch at 1:30pm on Sunday & caught their party that afternoon. As a result, the place was really noisy , overcrowded & devoid of service. Probably just a bad timing this time round. However, while my son was happy with his pizza, I didn't enjoy my pasta much. It was labelled as mussels & mortadella dish but those things were in such tiny quantities that I felt somewhat shorthanded.
The food was lovely and fresh, but the place is filled with kids having a great time in the impressive play area - you feel a bit out of place if you don't have young kids!
We were not prepared for the fairyland décor but soon realised that this was all part of the charm of this gorgeous family run restaurant. The staff were attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. The head waiter/chef also made sure our meal was to our satisfaction and the wone and food were superb. This restaurant does cater mainly for families but my husband and I were very happy to sit amongst them without our children as the fabulous food was worth it. We will definitely return with our children.
The play area in the back is nice for toddlers but at the end it doesn't make it up for poor service (we received our plates at different times with lots of mistakes) and average food. The kids were last served with wrong order. The food is plain and average. It is tiny and extremely noisy. I expected a certain level of noise course but as it is a very small space with low ceiling, it was just unbearable after 1h.. We left disappointed. Also, they don't notify you that the play area has a £5 charge per child per hour. I understand the should notify clients at booking.
Great if you have kids and want a meal in semi-peace as they have a great play area. Would not come here without kids though! Decent food for a kid friendly place.
Staff very welcoming and polite. Food of a good standard and well cooked. Unfortunately, eating pre theatre there were no other customers, so there was no atmosphere. Wouldexpect that later evening would create a better impression.
A very good restaurant that caters for small children with a safe play area., easily watched over from the tables. Service was very friendly, the food selection varied and well presented making for a relaxed and pleasant lunching experience.
A romantic little restaurant serving outstanding Italian food. Special mention to the gnocchi which was unlike anything I've had in London. They regularly have specials all of which are appetising. Value for money is outstanding also. I recommend turning up very hungry as you will want to try all dishes on offer.
Absolutely loved this place. Authentic Italian food. My husband is Italian and we spend every summer in Italy and this place can easily compete with top places there. Staff is super friendly and they explained where they buy the food for the restaurant, where they order parmigiana and wine.
Like in Italy they serve wine by carafe :)
They also have amazing looking "magic village" houses for the kids. I was in the evening and the kids zone was closed but it looks fabulous.
P.S. bill was surprisingly low for the type of food we have.
I loved the food - fresh pasta with lobster and very good wine Verdicchio! Also, would receive moment waffle with Nutella for pudding. Definitely will be back!
