Great steaks but took ages to come, it was Chelsea match night and we were in a hurry, kitchen was really really slow
The booking from open table had not been received by the outlet but they were very obliging. Service was great unfortunately the steak was very chewy. The sides need expanding with more vegetable options.
They messed up our order. They didn't cook the ribeyes properly. Chewy and far to rare. Rest of the food was cold. Staff members came out of the customer toilet together during service? Either romance or drugs. Both unprofessional. Terrible atmosphere. The girl serving us was the redeemer. She had a sense of humour and could think in her feet. She should find somewhere else to work so she doesn't get tied into a bad review by association.
We had an excellent meal and experience here. They had wonderful gluten-free options for my wife, and we had extremely good food here. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. The service was very good, we were treated wonderfully. The prices were fair.
We went for a Sunday roast. The steak was incredible. When the board came out with caramelised onion stuffed Yorkshire’s we were won over already!
One of the best beef roasts we have had
Comfortable place and good value for money . Great to catch up with friends
Food was a bit cold when was served
Everything else was good
Food was delicious
Great food, service was slow and waiter was a bit rubbish
Came for the early bird steak + fries + glass of wine. Good service but the portion of food is a bit small.
Really good food but staff were a bit rude. Would have expected better for the price
First time visit before a Chelsea game . Was very impressed , a little bit away from the usual crushed restaurants and worth the extra minutes walk . Service excellent , food not quite excellent but still good . Will certainly return
An absolutely amazing evening. The food is gorgeous, amazing taste, cooked to perfection ( med- rare steak) good portion sizes.
I had not noticed the restaurant before hand. I booked through the app as what was closest to me and I have been back twice since the first visit. The staff were extremely attentive, couldnt have done enough for us, it was a busy Friday with all but 1 table filled. We didn’t have to wait for anything, wine and water topped up through out the evening.
This was a bit of a surprise find for us but an absolutely great one! We were late diners so the staff were great to allow us to order late. The food was excellent, service from absolutely everyone even more so. It's a wonderful little place and I will definitely be going back.
We booked for brunch with our son on the basis of previous reviews and were not disappointed. The Steak and Eggs were fantastic, with great relish on the side - great for my son and I, whilst my wife plumped for Sunday lunch. Now, the menu states that this is for 2 or more, but the host was incredibly accommodating and said that he would be as flexible as we wanted him to be.....and he was true to his word.
Great staff, great steak, and an all-round nice, casual eatery!
Great venue. Great food. Great value. Disastrous service. When everything else is so good doesn't really bother me, but I know some people can get really worked up about it.
Excellent roast dinner for two I couldn't fault anything the hanger steak was delicious good wine and top class dessert. The service was great and the setting enjoyable I will be returning at some point.
Great food at s good price.
They have very good sharing patters which the recommend but do not push on you.
Great place! the food here was fantastic, the menu is varied and reasonably priced. the service was great, easy going, professional, friendly and fast staff!
Easy, quick steak for a great price. There is nothing fancy about this steakhouse, but perfect for people that want good quality more regularly. And the staff were super accommodating if we wanted to change anything on the menu. We went on a Saturday night and it was pretty quiet as well, so easy to have conversations.
We also tried the bar downstairs, which has lovely cocktails. worth a visit before or after dinner
Cocktails were a little pricey but if you get the happy hour they are definitely worth a try as is the elderflower cider.
The food was really nice, we went for the Mon-Fri Pre 7:30pm menu offer and the steak was cooked to perfection.
Certainly worth a visit if looking for somewhere relaxed to eat.
Staff was friendly.
Great value for the price you pay.
Food and drinks were delicious.
Nicely lit by natural light.
The pork fritters was actually a lump of pork with a few breadcrumbs around it, inedible. We waited nearly 2 hours for our mains, having had to ask and be reassured twice, they came out without some of the things we had asked for. Cold hard chips, spinach side was an inedible mess, the burger was cold the only semi decent thing was the steak. Never going back to this place, the service was horrific. Worst restaurant ever.
Great steaks and fantastic service. I will definitely be going again
Went there for a catch up with friends and the atmosphere was buzzing. Steaks are some of the best, medium rare with bourbon pepper sauce was a fantastic combo. Would recommended.
I've eaten here a few times and I can't rave enough about the quality and value for the steak here! It's always tender, cooked to perfection and has great flavour. I also love the downstairs cocktail bar which has started to do live music at the weekends!
Hanger is one of those little neighbourhood gems that has the potential of being your hangout when you don't feel like cooking - although it's not cheap enough to warrant a frequent visit.
My boyfriend and I went on a Saturday night and had a steak and a side each (we wanted to have a starter but they had ran out due to a busy night), no alcohol or desert and paid about £60 in total.
The 400g chargrilled hanger steak was decent enough although a bit chewy and fatty for £20. I had the special for the day, Argentine Rib-Eye 400g, served at a perfectly cooked medium rare, sliced up with an incredible peppercorn sauce.
The lady who greeted us was very chipper and funny which set a perfectly light mood for the evening and was pleasant throughout.
However that wasn't enough to make up for some of the letdowns of the restaurant:
– The side of fries looked delicious and were nicely cooked but were completely over-salted and therefore inedible.
– The uncomfortably loud dance-y music wasn't fit for the setting and was quite distracting.
– The deco and tables were really cool and modern but we felt that the booth in which we sat, the table was slightly lower that what would be comfortable to eat off of, making us both slouch over our plates.
– Our server, though attentive, was a bit moody or less talkative than the greeter and also failed to inform us that the starters and cocktails were unavailable. We were also asked 4 times by different people if we were enjoying our meal, which is quite unnecessary for a place like this, especially since we only had once course.
Overall I would go back for a steak as that was very well done but would look out for those details that make the restaurant experience that much better.
One of the best value steaks in London. They had a ribeye as a special that evening which was amazing. People should ditch the more expensive places in town.
Great food and good service. Their steaks were excellent and we had a three course meal plus a cocktail for £25 each. So represented great value. The restaurant was oddly empty for a Friday night but i guess that meant quicker service.
Friendly staff and good atmosphere. Unfortunately both of our steaks were over-cooked which was a shame. Slightly overpriced. Decent steakhouse but there are better ones in the area
Tasty, good value steak with good range of accompaniments and very reasonable wine list. Excellent service and relaxed, enjoyable atmosphere.
At first the service was a little slow, I believe they had a staff issue. But when the manager realised we were not happy waiting 20 minutes for our first drink, they picked up the service and were very attentive. Brunch is good value for money with steak in with the food, for 20 you can have bottomless prosecco and they bring it to you by the bottle! Would recommend as a brunch catch up with friends. Minimalist decor which I really liked
Great steak, good price. What else do you need to know?!
We attended for Basement Bottomless Brunch. The staff were very friendly and changed the music at our request. Also, are glasses were never full and the food was great. We have tried a few bottomless brunches and this one was great value!
8 of us went for my birthday. We had the bottomless prosecco brunch. We thoroughly enjoyed it and the staff were very attentive. Would really recommend this venue
I tried the pork belly starter and the picanha steak with a side of mac and cheese. All were fantastic, and superb value for money.
An all-around great place for easy, casual dining. My husband and I shared the shepherds pie croquettes, which were very good. I loved the grilled halloumi vegetarian dish with broad beans and spinach. One of the better veg options I've had recently. My husband ordered the steak special--the sirloin. He said it was okay and lacked flavor. He did love the French fries, and he's quite a fry critic. We'll be back!
Fabulous night and fabulous food. Service was brilliant, very attentive and knew the menu in detail. Also offered fab alternative to our friend who is gluten and dairy free. I can't wait to go back
Service was quite nice but Steak was awful. So will not go there again.
perhaps we were a little early (6pm on a Saturday) but the restaurant was empty and staff didn't appear to be interested at all, as such there was a lack of atmosphere.
The food itself was distinctly (and disappointingly) average with the meat so charcoaled that you couldn't really taste much else, the mac and cheese was also rather horrid apparently...no one finished their meal which says a lot. Overall disappointing as I took my mum and brother there for a pre-Christmas treat and it wasn't really much of a treat :/
We had the brunch upstairs, and it was a bargain to add bottomless drinks for only £20 with a choice of bloody Mary's, bellinis or mimosas. Loved the purées that came with the bellinis and the food was delicious as always. I had the chorizo & avocado and my friends had steak options, we were all pleased with it our choices.
