Tried lowest testing course，it is good to try at price.
Top notch service! Food is amazing, one of the best izakaya for me
My partner suggested eating at Hannah's when we walk past (our hotel was conveniently next door) but the graphics design of their bill board and the restaurant's street appeal just didn't.... appeal. However a reassuring visit to Tripadvisor suggested Hannah's would be good. So we ventured inside and are so glad we did. We had a really memorable meal (the mid range tasting menu - because there was so much we wanted to try) despite both of us being shattered and unknowingly coming down with a nasty cold. Hannah's food was delicious, interesting, different and also it felt so healthy. They accommodated my diabetes without fuss. The waitress was delightful and carefully explained each dishes. We'd Googled each dish before they arrived and this also helped our understanding and appreciation of each dish. Thank you again for a memorable meal Hannah.
We had a fantastic evening, the food was excellent overall; the presentation was extraordinary. We would definitely recommend it to a friend. Very friendly staff.
We had a lovely evening at Hannah with very helpful and polite service with a smile. Very interesting saki to begin plus the tasting menu which was a great way of trying several different dishes and making a proper evening of it. We will certainly go there again, on our next visit and recommend friends to do so too.
We went for a pre-theatre meal around 6pm. It was very quiet with only two tables in use. The food quality and attention to detail was excellent. Pricing was a little on the high side, even for a Japanese meal.
Great bento box for lunch. Not your normal low quality kind of bento, definitely a cut above.
Would love to try this place for dinner.
Great experience. Had a quiet and excellent lunch.
Went on a date night and we were a bit greedy, feeling like getting everything. So quite difficult for us to choose since its only two of us to share the food. So we took the tasting set, which turned out to be a great choice. We get to taste a bit of everything literally. Its about 6-7 courses, cant remember exactly. Great presentation and taste. The scallop and crab rice are my favourite. I think only around £150 or something for two sets and a bottle of white. We had a great time. Good choice.
My friend and I had a late lunch and it was great! We had the set lunch Bento Box and it was a great value. For such price we get to taste so many different things and the quality of the sashimi is beyond words. The best squid sashimi I’ve ever had. So creamy! We also ordered a hotpot to share and it was served on a stove with charcoal in it! So cute! The location is not so obvious but we were just so glad we went. Would love to go back again. Maybe try the dinner menu next time. Great experience!
We went in a group of 6. There was only one waitress serving the entire restaurant, so few times had to go myself and ask for stuff. Food was good and very nicely presented but very small quantity and extremely expensive. Main dishes looked like starters with regards to portion size. We got a bill of 200£ for having main dishes only.
awful, awful restaurant. Couldn't be more gloomy. No clients in the restaurant. Awful decoration, awful service, food ok but so so expensive for what it is.
Beautiful sushi and inexplicably presented but limited menu, tiny portions and expensive for what it was.
As a Japanese I can guarantee this restaurant is one of the best among the Japanese restaurants in London. However, it is very expensive and each dish is served as very small portion. Recommend as a special occasion.
I went on sat for my bday meal and was blown away. Food was amazing and I can't wait to go back
The food is good, but the service is extremely slow
I've been here a couple of times and have always loved the the place. Looked a bit kooky with its Japanese decorations, but the food is beautifully presented, tasty and fresh. I had a mixed sushimi dish and was lucky enough to have sea urchin, freshly delivered. I also tried the green tea ice cream, delicious and not very sweet for those who don't like desserts too sugary. Recommended.
Exceptional service, superb quality food, very well presented. Interesting use of a portion of the old County Hall building in London & very near both Westminster & Big Ben and Waterloo station. If you love Japanese food & can afford a higher price per head this restaurant is for you. (£40per head for our fab lunch).
Food is really good, presentation - amazing, many snobby London restaurants can actually learn from these guys. Not your traditional Japanese though, you will not find many items you probably got used to, but those that are on the menu will really impress. The service left us a bit flabbergasted, but to be fair it was our host's first day: got wrong orders, out of sequence and certainly on a slow side (although one can argue it is a part of the experience). Some people in our company in the end stayed without food, optimistically saying that would order deliveroo on their way home, and we asked for the bill not waiting for some items still to be served as we ran out of time and patience. The other waiter (more experienced) was very apologetic but hardly could do anything. The ambience is plain dreadful, and I doubt anything can be done simply because of the building. The bill was very reasonable. Will I come again? Absolutely, but will think twice if I need to impress people whether to take them to this place or shop elsewhere. I really do hope the guys will improve, because food is very good.
The food was really tasty and we all enjoyed our courses. Portions could be a bit more generous.
Very expensive and small portions- have had better sushi and Japanese food for cheaper
The best Japanese food I've ever had and it's hard to imagine it being beaten by anything any time soon! Service was top class. Initially thought it was expensive but it was worth every penny and more!
We had one hour for a quick bite to eat pre-theatre as part of my wife’s birthday celebrations. My wife’s meal was pretty standard, but at least she ate... I watched as three courses arrived for her but not mine. I chased where my food was but nothing, even the miso soup never came. Eventually only a few minutes before we absolutely had to leave to catch our play, I received some tuna maki, which was ok and I had to gobble up in a rush. It barely touched the sides. Eventually I had to walk up to the counter and ask them to cancel my items and just give me the bill. The waitress said sorry but no gesture or acknowledgment that I would go hungry. They even charged us for service and we were running so late there was no time to have it deducted. I don’t think I missed much, my wife’s salad was so salty as to be barely edible. The biggest issue was not just the poor food and service but the total apathy that came with it. Never again.
Really fantastic food and lovely staff. Booked for my partner's birthday and they kindly bought over a candle lit dessert on the house. Really excellent food - the Ox Cheek for 2 was incredible. Pricey but if it's a one off and you've saved for it you'll find it hard to find better. If I was being REALLY picky it could probably do with a slight facelift but didn't detract from our enjoyment at all. Overall a really lovely evening and would thoroughly recommend.
We’ve found a new favourite after fantastic hospitality from the lovely waiting staff and talented chefs at Izakaya Hannah. The presentation of the dishes was stunning. The sashimi, tempura and beef short rib all tasted sublime!
Bit pricey - would go elsewhere for sushi. The tuna sashimi was beautiful. But have had better Japanese food in London.
Excellent service, nice food cooked right in front of your eyes.
Overall food and service was good. Just find a bowl of steam rice was a bit pricey.
Went here for a birthday treat and was very pleasantly surprised by authenticity of the food and care in preparation and presentation. Would love to go again soon.
The sushi was good. Need more options. Noodles looked interesting. Service was a bit slow. Ok for lunch. May try it again
It was excellent to see this place heaving when we went. We tried the sashimi this time round and we can honestly attest that neither has had better! Will definitely return.
Very nice new Japanese restaurant. Believe will be much more atmospheric when they become more popular.
Great place to visit.
My husband loves sashimi and this was perfect for him and his son. I have fish allergies and the rib steak I had and dipping sauce was perfect. Unusually for a Japanese restaurant I had several good choices of food that weren't fish. All our food was delicious, probably the best Japanese meal I've ever had:)
Simple japanese food with very nice people
One is reminded of Kyoto and the traditional scenes of Japan sitting at the conter watching the chefs put together, with care and skill the most enjoyable sushi we have had for some time. The garnish is culinary art and the friendly staff make customers feel welcome. The fish was cut to small bit size pièces laid out on an artistically decorated plat. It was such a pleasant expérience that we will definitely make this restaurant one of our regular places at which to dine. If there is any slight draw back it is that it is at the high end of the pricing scale, which means we will go a little less often. But certainly a place to enjoy traditional Japanese food.
We are regulars at this authentic Japanese tavern. The ramen is much better than the local Wagamama, and Katsu Don tastier. We are very surprised that it is a bit quiet most times, although it's probably because they have just newly opened.
We booked this for pre theatre dinner since we were going to see Witness for the Prosecution which is literally next door. We knew it would be quiet at 6pm but really not much atmosphere. Staff were friendly and helpful and food was tasty but main courses all came at slightly different times which wasn’t ideal.
Vegetable and prawn tempura and rice for main was tasty but I thought a bit pricey at £15. Enjoyed but won’t be rushing back.
Delicious and enjoyable food. Nice ambiance, shame not busier.
