Harajuku Kitchen Ratings and Reviews
Excellent restaurant in the local neighbourhood of Bruntsfield. We loved the authentic Japanese feel of the restaurant. Very friendly service and excellent food in a lovely setting. We also liked the green tea 'top ups' and thought the quality of the food was excellent value for money.
This was our second visit to Harajuku Kitchen and I enjoyed it even more than the first The location is excellent with the huge picture window looking out onto Bruntsfield and the gothic church across the road. Efficient, attentive service and delicious food.
My boyfriend and I came after work for dinner one night. We're both vegan and the waitress was so lovely and great at helping us decide what to order! The food was really good, definitely one of the best Japanese meals we've ever had (including in Japan!) I'm just annoyed I didn't visit sooner, we'll definitely be back!!
We had a great evening at Harajuku Kitchen, celebrating a birthday. The staff were really lovely and the food was delicious - particularly the tofu starter. I was really impressed by how seriously they took my severe peanut allergy, too, and felt very safe!
I cannot recommend this authentic Japanese restaurant highly enough. Everything about it was perfect and the food was obviously prepared with care and a delicacy of touch that isn't to be found in Japanese chain restaurants.
We sampled sparkling sake for the first time and it was a rather good accompaniment to our meal.
Second time for me and my partner and it did not disappoint! Won't even bother writing down what we had because we had far too many dishes! Everything was absolutely exquisite with the prawn tempura being one of the highlights. Will definitely recommend to friends and family!
Can't wait to go back.
Excellent Service, great food and nicely situated and easy to find. We eat a lot of Asian/Japanese Food and this didn't disappoint. Very clean and welcoming interior, funky wall art as well.
Only one small niggle was we were in the ''firing line' of the cold air coming in from outside every time the door was opened and the restaurant was quite cold in general.
See you again!
Had a lovely post-cinema lunch with three friends. We all ate from the 2 courses for £12.95 offer and everyone was raving about how good the food was. Two of us had been before and the others will definitely be returning soon. Lovely homely service and delicious food. Thank you
Our first time at Harajuku Kitchen for a pre theatre dinner, we ordered a selection of small dishes from the full menu & were very impressed when it was pointed out to us that most of these were on the pre theatre menu that came with green tea and plum wine at a lower cost!
Staff were so friendly and helpful offering advice on the menu if needed and making sure we were happy with everything.
The plum wine was a revelation and went so well with the food, as did the green tea which was topped up whenever needed.
The food was all delicious, the chicken dishes were especially succulent. We are not sea food lovers so avoided the sushi/sushimi but when we saw a neighbouring table receive theirs we decided that we would give it a try on our next visit as it looked so appetising.
Prices are moderate but the quality of the food is excellent making it very good value.
This is a gem of a restaurant and deservedly popular, we sat down at 5.30 on Thursday evening and within 30 minutes it was bustling.
Pre-theatre special occasion dinner, we booked a 5 pm table based on a review that said service could be slow before a show and hence book early. We had a leisurely 2 hours before our 7:30 date and thoroughly enjoyed all of our dishes. Special shout out for the very authentic takoyaki. The yellow tail and unagi specials were fresh and tasty. Coconut ice cream mochi also went down well.
