Harry Ramsden's - Bournemouth
Downstairs is a traditional British takeaway chippie, with a choice of fish on its blackboards, so you can pick up a tasty cod, haddock, plaice or scampi, freshly cooked in our secret recipe batter, for a stroll along Bournemouth’s promenade.
We look forward to seeing you at Harry Ramsden’s Bournemouth Pier very soon.
Average overpriced fish and chips but great view seals the deal
Have been to Harry many time over the years and I can only say it gets worse every time.
Waiter took order for drinks and meal. Drinks arrived promptly but not our meal. Either understaffed or not organised. My wife’s meal was just thrown on the plate and my Caesar salad was not what you would expect unless it was child’s portion.
Sorry but this will be the last time we go there.
Harvester next time.. much better value and service..
We had a lovely meal. The service was excellent and friendly. The food was fresh and tasty. Best fish&chips around. Thank you
Great venue, fab view of the seafront, very friendly efficient staff
Very friendly Italian waiter, attentive and polite.
Nice food and good portions
All good table service. Helpful waiter . Two of us ordered regular fish & chips. The fish was very small. A bit overpriced for what you got. Visited earlier in the year and was better then.
Good quick service
Nice fish, but expensive for portion size and chips not good, seemed like they'd been cooked a while ago.
We are served all our meals at once considering there were 11 of us was very impressive
Really excellent service - our waitress Anda was very pleasant, polite, friendly and extremely helpful with my special dietary needs, despite the kitchen not quite understanding what had been requested (I asked for tomato and cucumber instead of peas with my cod and chips and was brought cod and green salad with a few tomotaos - but no chips! The kitched quickly added chips when this was pointed out and our waitress made a special unrequested trip to ensure I had sufficient tomato and cucumber) Nice quiet atmosphere (6.30pm on a rainy Friday) with lovely views over the stormy sea. Food was very good - fishcakes, cod and SriLankan curry all very much appreicated.
Food was terrible. This place is just living off the name and location.
We had a amazing service at Harry Ramsden’s we were greeted by a gentleman who appeared to be french on my first look.
I had requested a table with a sea view and I wasn't disappointed. The food was mouthwatering, we had chosen cod and chips, both the fish and chips were cooked to perfection, very tasty and crispy.
It was the hottest day of the year, therefore had avoided eating later in the afternoon, also knew that it may get busier during those hours.
If your in Bournemouth then please do visit you won’t leave disappointed.
The best fish & chips I’ve had. Catered for a large group with no problem at all, highly recommend! We’ll be back!
Overall a good experience. However my glass of wine was over £6 and was very average. It was my daughter's birthday and she was looking forward to a sundae but they had run out of ice-cream!!!! Most of the desserts have ice-cream with them so disappointingly we had to leave without a sweet end to the meal!
Seated quickly. Order taken in good time. Food delivered very slowly. Starter and mains arrived together and had to chase last persons order which arrived 10 minutes after first. Fish size varied significantly despite ordering same size even where smaller “60s” portion was larger than regular adult portion.
Wasnt as good as the first time we visited. The batter was soggy on one side and seemed over done and burnt on the other. We will be tho as I'm sure it was just a one off.
Great evening, very good service, food well cooked and served quickly.
It is a nice place to eat. Get a table near the window where you can look out at the sea, and look at people on the beech. All in all it is a nice place to have a meal.
Very disappointed food was awful, over cooked, fish not as fresh as it should be.
Have been there many times and it has always been ok. This time definitely not. The best thing was the excellent pianist.
Excellent service, food and atmosphere - my regular go to when visiting Bournemouth
The lady who served was amazing and food was lovely. Only criticism was it was too hot in there and expensive.
Great food, very tasty. Server was friendly and really good with my 6 year old boy who spilt my friends drink. He replaced it free of charge which was very kind.
Food was nice excellent service would definitely come again
I'd recommend this restaurant to everyone however, I'd strongly suggest booking a table as this was probably the only chance we had of actually getting seated. Even though the restaurant wasn't overly busy (possibly because everyone was quing to get in) there was only one person seating people and taking orders. It was a bit much really.
Unfortunately we decided to go on a busy Eatser weekend. Luckily we had booked to walked past the long queue to get in. The front of house staff were stressed. Fortunately the waiter we had was laid back and food was served in good time considering. Noise level was loud with screaming kids, nothing you can do I know. Food was ok but £125 for One course and drinks is a bit steep for a fish supper.
The fish portion size and chips were both very disappointing. The tartare sauce was like synthetic mayonnaise - I would have expected this to be freshly made inhouse. I think the restaurant is banking on the name. The staff and location were both excellent.
Overpriced for what it is. Fish was dry and chips were average. Can get far better in local chippy for much cheaper.
We had a great view of the beach and pier. There was a large coach party in the restaurant that delayed our initial service slightly but overall I would recommend for a friendly, fish 'n chips dinning experience.
Nice welcome from the staff.
Booked a table as it was Easter Holidays but not too busy.
Food order came very swiftly and was good value, particularly our 8 year old grandson’s choice.
Would recommend and go again.
We always have fish and chips here when ever we visit Bournemouth. We always have a lovely meal.
Amazing food, food service!
I will definitely be going back soon!
Had a lovely 3 course meal , which wasn’t really necessary but very nice all the same
Great. Food exactly as expected, sea view. Spot on. Will be back soon.
portions are very small for the price, although not busy took ages to be served
The food was cold and felt as if the waitress did not want to serve us. The food was cold and the portions were small. It was not busy and there was a lot of rubbish on the floor.
For expensive fish and chips we were very disappointed. Would not go back or encourage family
Used to be favourite 'go to' before seeing bands at BIC or Pavilion... but food quality has deteriorated over last few visits and now looking for alternative fish and chip venues... very disappointing
Great view overlooking the sea. Service was friendly and efficient good quality food.
Lovely restaurant excellent food fantastic service
TODO MUY BIEN, EL STAFF MUY AMABLE Y BONITAS VISTAS
Excellent waitress service - could do with more gluten and soya free options please.
Quite expensive but very good fish and chips
