A great venue, friendly staff and good food, but… A wait of over 30 minutes for our coffee and over an hour for our breakfast was very disappointing.

We visited yesterday, the waitress was surly and unhelpful. When I asked whether the wine was dry, she said she hadn’t tried it so didn’t know to which I suggested she ask the manager. Surely the staff should know what they are serving? The menu was rather limited and at no time did the waitress suggest sausage rolls or items on the island table. Perhaps a secret shopper is needed to help, as help is certainly required

Way overpriced for what you get; £10 for a salad that was tiny and nothing more than cous cous and rocket. £14 for a 8" Margherita pizza that was nothing special. I wouldn't bother - Claremont farm is not that far away and a way better option.

I have been to the Hawarden Farm Shop on many occasions. The staff were very attentive and there wasn't a wait for food, which was good. Unfortunately since the reopening the prices have increased - which can be appreciated due to rising costs. However the value for money, in particular the 'mixed salad', was disgusting and I would recommend people not to order it. Customer service in store was great, but I sent an email explaining the situation and haven't received a response - this was over a week ago now, so customer after leaving the Farm Shop, has been poor. Very disappointed and sadly, won't be returning.

We usually book for brunches and I always look forward to them in terms of quality and flavour of the food on the menu. The waitresses are delightful and efficient and all staff members are friendly and welcoming.

Oh dear - what a sad start to a Bank Holiday Sunday. A new chef unable to prepare the menu and taking an hour or so to get a simple bacon roll to a table. The waiting staff were brilliant in trying their best but it wasn't the best brunch - mostly cold when we got it. Hawarden Farm Shop is a favourite place for breakfast and lunch so this was a one - off but a real shame for families who had to give up breakfast out because you can't have toddlers hang about for an hour waiting for food.

I am a frequent visitor to Hawarden Farm Shop and always eagerly anticipate the experience and come away satisfied and happy with every aspect of the visit, especially the delicious food which never disappoints. Congratulations to all who work there. The only criticism might be that occasionally, the background music is a little loud, but there again I have a hearing problem and any "extra" sound can be distracting from ordinary conversation level.

We love hawarden farm shop but it’s really irritating that you don’t have normal branded soft drinks. Wouldn’t mind but the ones on offer are expensive but taste quite cheap. Such a shame because everything else is lovely. Also the heater inside on the wall is wayyy too hot to sit underneath

To be honest , I think food can be overrated , coronation chickpea sandwich with string fries was lovely bread but fridge cold , small amount of filling , string fies unable to see aside from literally a couple of cotton sized strands mixed in and few knaves on the top. . Main thing is nice surrounding and atmosphere, food pricy and sadly average. Cakes looked a lot better

Very disappointed with the sandwich I ordered, hot roast pork with apple and stuffing. Once I had taken the very large chunks of fat off my sandwich, there was hardly any meat left. The tea and coffee that I had were very nice.

Firstly I must make comment about the service, the two young girls were excellent. However, the afternoon tea at £48 for two was extremely poor value. I have had afternoon tea in many places but Hawarden Farm shop was the poorest ever, and the most expensive. The two small sandwiches and half roll were mediocre at best and the three cakes very poor and also a strange choice. A green macaroon, coconut cake and carrotcake, none of the traditional type cakes that one would expect. We took these home but they went into the recycling bin. The scone was nice. There are other lovely local places at less than half the price with a far better selection of sandwiches and cakes. I would not book an afternoon tea at Hawarden Farm shop again.

The Hawarden Estate shop reflects the energy and upbeat positivity of the team behind the Good Life Experience. Contemporary art blends with traditional. A fabulous team, always attentive, finds a great balance to make sure you are made to feel at the heart of things but not overwhelmed. The food is excellent. Fantastic ingredients, delicious meals.

Great food and the service is outstanding. The menu maybe extended and it can get quite cold and the smoke from the barbecue/ fire pit or pizza oven could be problematic for some. However, for me it was great and certainly go back again.

I was very impressed with the service we received on Sunday. I took my mum for a Birthday Brunch as she is going through a difficult time as my dad has cancer so thought it would be a nice treat. I mentioned it was a Birthday when I booked and my mum was given a free Brownie which was such a lovely touch! All the staff were super friendly and we will definitely be back!

Did not cater for a person with Coeliac despite the menu stating "GF Options" . When speaking with staff their knowledge regarding gluten free options was poor and didn't instil confidence that the food would not be cross contaminated. When the person in our party with Coeliac decided against risking eating here the member of staff was very condescending saying "Aaw, gluten intolerance is so annoying isn't it!?" further demonstrating their lack of knowledge relating to real food allergies.

Whole place was empty when we arrived for 7.30 on Friday, so nil atmosphere or ambience and restaurant seemed a bit cold and draughty. Staff very friendly and helpful, service excellent. Food very good but not excellent. Lovely salami and focaccia to start. To me the crab fishcakes were a little lacking in flavour, but my wife loved them. Would come again at at a more lively time.
