Excellent all round although quite pricey at 390£ with only 2 bottles of moderately priced wine....we did eat a lot though!
The service wasn’t as good as it should have been for what we paid. We kept having to ask for parts of our food that hadn’t come.
A fantastic fun evening with excellent food and service. Highly recommended.
The food was incredible - staff were very friendly and knowledgable. Service was quick but we didn’t feel rushed. A lovely night!
Food was excellent, but the drunken city sods at the other tables were aggressive and irritating, screaming at each other throughout the meal. Maybe keep the bar separate from the dining?
Everything very good but ambience and space does not give much room for privacy to have a quiet or intimate dining / conversation experience
Had a lovely meal here for my husband's 40th birthday. I would recommend coming for a special occasion.
Ended up being great night and meal.
Didn’t start off to well as we were sat/tabled next to, what turned out to be, a drunk, obnoxious and offensive customer and friend towards the hawksmoor staff. But staff at Hawksmoor were excellent, as when we approached them they could see our pain and re-tabled us somewhere else swiftly and were brilliant.
So overall my wife and I had great experience at Hawksmoor!
With excellent service, ambience and food, Hawksmoor is always first choice for a long lunch.
I’ve been to Hawksmoor Manchester before, so I know the menu and I know what I like/what to expect. This was my first time at the Borough Market restaurant, and I wasn’t disappointed. However, it didn’t quite match up to the last two times I’ve dined at these restaurants. The bone marrow (which is to die for) didn’t come with onions like the previous times, but I wasn’t going to kick up a fuss about it. The rib eye was good, but not as great as it has been before, but steak is very rarely consistent in its flavour and texture, despite the cut and cooking being the same. My girlfriend got the sirloin cooked medium-well (sacrilege!), but it was actually delicious and juicy, possibly better than my mid-rare rib eye. The mac & cheese was good but a little underseasoned, could’ve done with a touch more seasoning. My girlfriend loved the cocktail (something with gin, rose water, white chocolate?), the fennel & pear salad was incredible, and the passion fruit sorbet was amazing. As usual, the service was on point and the server was tipped appropriately for her excellent service. It was pretty busy and really a little too hot and noisy, but it wasn’t unbearable. It’s an old building, but a bit of AC would’ve been nice. Overall still a good experience and would eat there again.
Just why you would expect. Quality service, outstanding selection of food and drinks, all in all an excellent culinary experience and one I shall be returning to.
Very nice food, service was great. Ordered a drink that I didn’t really like, waiter saw I hadn’t drunk any of it and took it off the bill, without me even asking!
We enjoyed the Sunday Roast at Hawksmoor. Quality food and great service.
Would have liked to option to have have my bred medium. Only option was well done or rare
Lovely restaurant, great food, great service. Went for a Sunday roast, which was excellent.
The only thing that let them down, was the amount of tables crammed into the space. You were sat inches from other diners & it was tricky to get around without bumping into people sat down. Even the staff get bumping into each other.
Overall a great restaurant, just perhaps not the best place to take someone that may need a bit of space to get around!
As always beautiful food, Michelle our waitress was incredible
Simple. Exceptional customer service, advice on wine and menu. Great food. Will come again
First time at the borough branch of Hawksmoor have eaten at other ones around London very nice interior and very good staff but my steak was covered in sea salt staff were great knocked it off our bill at once hopefully it was a one off because there steaks are normally wonderful have had a email from them already so good customer service
Fantastic food and drinks as always, very accommodating of gluten intolerance. Love Hawksmoor!
An additional person to our booked party of 5 initially was told they had no space but a little persistence on our part paid off. Within 5 minutes, we were sat on a table of 6 and our meat feast could begin! All of our steaks were incredible, the sides were delicious too and portions were more than adequate. Great advice on our wine selection, too. We’ll definitely be back for more soon...
Great food and great service. Beautiful evening to celebrate my husband’s birthday. Didn’t ask anything and they’re brought us dessert with a candle (and extra dessert).
Bit disappointed, first time I’ve been to a Hawksmoor and come away feeling like this. Let’s hope it was a one off!
Enjoyed a leisurely lunch with good food and attentive yet unobtrusive service
Tasty food and lovely time.
Perfection on a plate!
Never had a bad experience in any Hawksmoor.
I'm from America. We know how to breed cows, feed them and then chop them up for dinner. We also know how to age steak, season it and cook it. In New York and Chicago we have great steakhouses. The waiters are rude and old grumpy men, some of the tablecloths are even red and white checked. The wine, port and cheese cake are fantastic. Although Hawksmoor is short of the rude, grumpy waiters, they have nailed everything else.
Still the best. Best steaks, best service, best cocktails, what more do you need, I only wish I could afford to go back more often, on byob Monday it means you can go more often.
Fantastic meal with friends. Staff were excellent and friendly, nothing too much trouble.
Went for the a Sunday Roast which was really good, be sure to order the cauliflower cheese. The sticky toffee pudding for dessert is the best I’ve ever had
Just superb. Can’t praise it enough. Love the place. 👍🏻
Sever is very nice and helpful.
Food was exellent and tasty.
The food was exxellent, the steak was delicious and all set in a nice, warm and informal dining environment
The food was excellent and the service was lovely. It was a great place to spend our anniversary together.
Excellent dinner. We took another couple who had never been there before, they both thought it was the best steak they’d ever eaten. My partner and I have been multiple times, it was up to the standard we’ve come to expect. Always a great steak. The sticky toffee pudding is something else, too.
Excellent as always
How do you make a dead cow taste amazing? Go to Hawksmoor to find out.
