   This was a 3rd visit to Edinburgh Hawksmoor and the food is becoming a big run of the mill. It would be enhanced greatly by staff wearing a simple Hawksmoor apron or t-shirt as all sorts of scruffy outfits on show which you don’t expect in a restaurant of those prices/location.

   Visiting Edinburgh, this was definitely on our to do, or more to the point, to eat list, it didn’t disappoint. Warmly welcomed, every member of staff including the chef were friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend.

   Lovely and welcoming atmosphere as soon as you walk in. First experience going and we were running late but they were very accommodating. They had also considered table space for a pram so allocated accordingly, which was thoughtful. Service was excellent, a little long waiting for food but well worth the wait - their Sunday Roast is an absolute MUST if you're going!! Staff extremely friendly and on hand with anything we needed throughout our visit. Definitely going again soon :)

   Me and my wife went for anniversary dinner and the whole experience was fantastic from food to service thoroughly enjoyed it. Our waiter was knowledgeable and extremely attentive. Made the start of our evening really memorable. Top quality food, cooked brilliantly and full of flavour. A must visit if in Edinburgh.

    Amazing setting, felt like a high end NY steakhouse. Service was efficient, but with a relexed feel. Our second round of drinks took about 10 minutes to arrive so we were told that they'd be left off the bill. Nice touch! Fillet steak was cooked to perfection.

    2 of our fillet steaks arrived well done when we asked for medium rare. They immediately changed them but that shouldn’t happen at this price range. Still love the place though.

    Kept waiting for 40 minutes, to be told that steaks would take another 40 minutes. At lunchtime. Very poor.

    Would highly recommend Hawksmoor to anyone who considers themselves a fan of high quality red meat or fish. Quality was second to none, the Ribeye in particular was incredibly well cooked. Service was crisp and highly professional. The setting is beautiful. Easy 5 stars.

    A very nic place with great atmosphere albeit loud though. We started with drinks and the cocktails were nice. certainly recommeded. Starters (lobster and carpacia) were were delicious. The steaks were although not so amazing but decent. my colleagues steak was over cooked. Sides were significantl overpriced for their size and the sauce was charged too!! Desert was delicate and just the right sweet. Overall good experience but quite expensive for no specific reason. Plus be careful and look at bill. I'm not sure why donation is charged and gratuity is a;so charged automatically at 12.5%?? Service was cdertainly rushed but busy is not the answer for that. This place is only for a special occaion and only if you pocket allows.

    Expensive, but distinctly average steaks; 300% markup on wines; everything, right down to an accompanying sauce, charged as a extra - cheese board charged per slice!! Even charity donations added without consent. Meal for 2 was pretty standard, but was awful value for money at £250. I expect something pretty special in that range and was very disappointed.

    Amazing food and great service. Crab toast starter was delicious - so fresh and beautifully tasty. Steak mains were absolutely delicious, along with fries and the ceasar side. And the bearnaise sauce was just perfect! Puds also delicious. We were too full really, but couldn't resist their own take on the ambassador's favourite treat and the lemony cheesecake. Great selection of wines and cocktails too.

    Had been looking forward to trying this restaurant. Friends have raved about it . Unfortunately I was very disappointed within the first few minutes. They had no fillet steak! Which is what I was really looking forward to. oh but wait we could have a chateaubriand which was nearly £10 more for a slightly bigger cut . We weren’t even offered the chateaubriand for the same price as the fillet May I say this was a Saturday afternoon at 5 pm and they were out of fillet steaks . This is a steak restaurant and probably one of their biggest sellers and they had none . The starter of langoustine scampi and salmon were lovely. We ordered the chateaubriand for 2 a rib eye and sirloin . Sides were lovely. One of the chateaubriand was slightly over cooked but still very tasty . Unfortunately what we got food wise was nice but not exceptional and for the price i don’t feel it was actually worth what we paid . Service was excellent but where we sitting there was a bit of a draft . It’s a shame as this was a special occasion due to recovering from cancer and meeting up with friends 1st time in over 1 year . Unfortunately won’t be back

    Been to several Hawksmoor in London and Edinburgh definitely lived up to our expectations! Excellent food as always just a shame the wine arrived after the starters where nearly finished but didn't let it spoil the meal. Would we go back again, most definitely.
