   Fabulous location, amazing food, attentive service, although the steak was outstanding, very pricey in my option for drinks,(glass of wine) sides and dessert. Peppercorn sauce too thin, and needs more flavour. Yes I would return again, but maybe tempted to try a starter, and small main, than the full streak experience.

   Very good quality food and wonderful service, but at almost £200 for dinner for two with two glasses of wine and one dessert, with a small cramped table in a pub like atmosphere, it felt like something of a rip off - for example £5 for “buttered greens” meant a small pot consisting entirely of cabbage…

   Having been met promptly it did then take a while (15 mins) to be asked about drinks but the waiter was so apologetic and the service really did pick up after that. We tried the very good value set menu. Excellent potted beef followed by a large, juicy delicious rump steak with plenty of chips and a decent serving of sauce. Puddings were fabulous as well - cocktails and a bottle of wine meant overall very satisfied and replete group! Would recommend and loved the old banking hall setting

    Excellent steak and vegetables pity about the chips not being available. Wine overly expensive. £37.00 for a £7.00 quality wine. Can't fault the service and the food would recommend to friends for the food but not the wine.

    Went for the Monday night early bird dinner with byo wine. It was a great meal and great value. It’s a great early week treat . Only a couple of points of feedback, it would be good to have a single server through the meal, rather than a series. Also had to chase the ordered mustards and sauce as no one came to check everything was delivered. It meant half the meal gone by the time they arrived.

    The Hawksmoor restaurant is our favorite place for Sunday roast and will continue to be ! The servers are fantastic as is the front desk staff! Always welcoming and very professional!

    Service was impeccable, only issue was the upselling of steak when ordering came across as pushy. The food was very average, not good value for money.

    Staff lovely and atmosphere is nice. I have to say the value for money, really can’t justify it. The steak, in my opinion isn’t worth the price. The beef dripping chips, are just plain McDonalds chips at £6? Think it needs to be re-thought.

    The staff were amazing and really helpful as we worked through our choices and options. And went the extra mile to help us celebrate. Food was exquisite and worth every penny. I recommend the peanut butter shortbread myself. Looking forward to going again soon

    Food: stunning, meat was succulent and tender, lobster well seasoned and fresh Service: great recommendations, polite, personable, went the extra mile recommending us places to go after dinner. Place: elegant, clean, table well separated from each other, not loud at all (it can get loud when busy but it wasn’t). Overall: best brasserie in Edinburgh

    Our food was cooked wrongly. The waiter kept saying it was the temperature we were complaining about. He then said it would be 6-7 mins for replacement steaks to be ordered. It took about 20 mins. No apologies or offer of a complimentary drink. The steaks when they came were done. When we asked for the bill the duplicated items were on the bill. It took 3 attempts for the correct bill to be presented. I'm a regular at hawksmoor but this experience would make me think twice about booking again.

    Food was good but the price is ridiculous. Charged for water and not even told beforehand. Sides are tiny for the price of them

    As restaurant owners, we know the effort it takes to build a staff that offers exceptional service. Hawksmoor exceeded our expectations in all areas. The only thing better than the delicious food and unique drinks was the entire staff's quality of service. Top notch in all areas.

    Lovely food and service . Nice airy atmosphere, a mixture of groups and couples. Food always really good , quality sides too although disappointed the triple cooked chips have disappeared! Spinach delish!

    The experience was ok, not what I had hoped for, but not bad either. The chateaubriand was slightly tough and not as good as I have had previously. The sides however were very good & the helpful staff assisted with wine choices. Again the dessert choice of the sundae was ok.
