Excellent starter in lunch menu and sundae pudding but steak was awful. Just a brick of beef, hard on the outside and tough. Not a steak!! Wine Vg but quite expensive. Service great.

I took my wife to Hawksmoor Edinburgh for her Birthday with my son last night (29th November) and it was exceptional in every way. The food was of course delicious but the staff were the stars of the night. Unbelievably friendly professional and helpful. It’s the best service I have had in years and we eat out regularly in London. The restaurant manager who greeted up was incredibly impressive and one of the nicest people we have met in a long time. Outstanding

The staff at this location are so friendly! Really welcoming and sweet as I booked a solo dinner to celebrate my birthday. This is probably my favourite Hawksmoor venue; its tall ceiling and massive dining area is beautiful. Also just the overall atmosphere was nice. I think I’ll deffo visit there again when I go back to Edinburgh. Food was 10/10 as always. I got the rump steak with stuffing and mash and gravy. Also had their single malt whiskey on the side which was nice and tasty with a sweet spice.

Came here for our anniversary meal. We always try different steak restaurants each year. This has been tte best in 8 years. Every course was phenomenal. I had carpaccio - so flavourful and tender. My wife had the pork belly ribs and they were so moist and full of flavour. We each had a ribeye, she had a peppercorn sauce (best I've ever tasted), and I got the blue verbalise - phenomenal - added so much to our already delicious steaks. We had sprouts and sausage, mash and gravy and chips as sides and everyone loved up to the high standard. Our servers were all lovely, they were so warm and welcoming and the restaurant has a delightful buzz. I cannot fault anything and I honestly cannot open ait to go back. Worth every penny. Don't just book this - run to it. Beautiful

Superb food and drink and the staff were exceptional. It was very busy, so we couldn't have a drink at the bar before being seated. We were told that the bar was currently taken up by drinkers, not diners. Personally, on a night so busy, I would expect that diners take priority and the bar be exclusively available to them. Other than the one minor issue, it was a sensational meal.

We had a wonderful meal last night for my sons 30th Birthday. The architecture is beautiful. The waiter was attentive without being intrusive, also very informative. The food was amazing, I had langoustine scampi for starters which was well cooked. For mains I had monkfish which was outstanding. Others in our party had steak, comments were 'it was the best they had ever had' Clotted cream ice cream for dessert was amazing

Forgot gravy with roast and to give us a number for our coats. Meat was underwhelming and was cold when gravy was finally made available. Nothing was offered due to their shortcomings.

Scored low for food as no fillet steak on a Saturday night at 8.15pm. I can maybe forgive no steak on a Sunday or Monday evening but this is the second time I’ve been and they’ve run out of key ingredient.
