We had the taster menu and everthing was delicious, excellent service very attentive staff.
Very good. Tasting menu is excellent. Service is very friendly and efficient.
Enjoyed the Tasting Menu and the food and service were fantastic and will definitely be back. Subtle flavours in all of the courses and attentive service.
Food was beautifully cooked although one of party didn’t feel lamb was worth extra for the portion size
first time to visit Hawkyns. Visited on a Saturday night. The food was so tasty and rounded in flavour. Service was good. We were a bit unfortunate to have a table in the middle of the room so there was quite a bit of back and forward of meals/drinks being brought out to other tables. But would definitely go back and request a table on one of the edges. Good value.
The food was superb leaving a delightfully balanced zing in the mouth.
The food was very good a great tasting menu with flavour and skill shown. Great night out and Good value
Hawkyns is a great addition to Amersham providing Indian haut cuisine in the heart of the ancient High Street. We had the tasting menu and each course was delicious but the combination was so wonderfully created to give a tapestry of tastes, textures and form, together it was wonderful. It is also great value for £37 and the course are perfectly sized so that you can enjoy all courses and feel bloated at the end. I can't wait for our next visit.
One of the most outstanding meals I have had this year. The food was incredible and a real taste experience with all the amazing spices and Indian flavors you could ask for but light and delicious and simply a meal to savor. The staff were warm, friendly and attentive in an old and special environment
The strengths are great service & tasty dishes. The weaknesses are difficulty in finding the hotel car park especially during late evening and less generous portions for a pricey al carte menu.
We have been fans of Atul Kochhar for some time and have had various meals at Sindhu and Benares. Obviously Hawkyns is aimed at a different market to the others and that is a good thing as you don't need to be eating high end all the time! We had the Tasting menu which was excellent value and very good. The service left a lot to be desired we felt with servers that tried to describe the dishes as they came up which was mostly unintelligible and poorly delivered due to a both language and understanding. This was disappointing. Fortunately we had the menu in front of us to refer to. This needs a lot of honing up. The surroundings are gastro pub type and very good for informal eating.
Food was very good, although the samosa was just a little too heavy with the pastry. Service was good but the waiter serving the individual courses could spend just a little more time in describing the course. This was our second visit with the tasting menu and it is great!
The starter and main were really nice and good value for money. However you need to watch the beverages and desert as really drove up the cost of our visit.
Dinner with 4 Foodie Friends. Excellent as usual, busy and buzzy atmosphere, lovely staff and great food.
Highly recommend and will definitely be back soon !!
Having been to Benares I was doubtful that a restaurant closer to home could come close, but, it did.
We had the taster menu which is good value at £38 for 5 courses. The Samosa was outstanding and the following courses were of the same ilk. Loved my evening, staff were attentive and very pleasant, the ambience and decor was nice and tables not on top of eachother. Will be back soon and next time I will partake in the wine flight, this time I didn’t as I was abstaining from alcohol for October.
Great service, food outstanding, all round lovely experience, would recommend to everyone, will be back again very soon. Would love takeaway, but live in Stevenage. Please get a restaurant here!!
Food service and ambiance was brilliant
Sea bass as a main course was very small in size
What a great meal the flavours were fantastic. We will definitely be returning.
Great spices resulting in some lovely flavours. Good portion size and the Rabbit starter was excellent
Great overall experience. Food was outstanding and service was attentive and friendly. Definitely going back.
We selected the offer - 3 course meal - which proved great value for money.
Enjoyed weekend lunch with family. Food from the set menu was excellent and our waiter couldn’t do more for us. Both Lamb biryani and salmon dish were tender, black dahl was tasty. Definitely will be back again to try other dishes.
Only complaint was there was no ac!! Service and food however was amazing.
Enjoyable ambiance on outside patio. Very good service. Food was good but not insulated creative. Would definitely eat here again.
