Overall it was very good food. Minor issue with tough mussels in the pescatarian tasting menu but it general very good. The service was a little impersonal but no real complaints. I’ve also been to Sindhu in Marlow and I’ve have to say that it is better.
We booked Hawkeys for our anniversary and it was amazing, food was great and service was impeccable.
Great atmosphere and would defo go back again.
Good food but portion size a bit stingy. Husband wasn’t offered rice with his main and menu wasn’t clear about needing to order it as a side. Service was slow and we felt staff were over stretched. Very pleasant ambience and enjoyable evening overall.
Food was good however service was too rushed. As there were only 2 other tables occupied and restaurant was open all afternoon this was disappointing.
The food is amazing, produce and ingredients are so fresh making the flavours brilliant. The restaurant itself looks and feels lovely and on a Wednesday evening the atmosphere was great. Thanks Hawkyns for a nice evening!
We chose the Taster menu, which offered a fabulous selection across the menu. Each dish was superb. The service was excellent from start to finish. Highly attentive and they missed nothing, orders for food and drink remembered, nothing too much trouble.
While the food was excellent quality I was shocked to see that all food and drink prices were pushed by 20-25% from a few weeks ago. This is a shocking and cynical price rise when the restaurant was aware that they would attract more customers on reopening day. Very disappointed.
Very good, nice menu, good choices. Interesting flavours.
We will be back and have already recommended it to friends.
A very enjoyable meal and would like to thank the whole team for a great experience!
The food was pretty good - the starters could have been hotter and the rabbit looked reheated rather than having the sheen of freshly cooked. The prawns were wonderful
The service was very poor with one of the mains coming five minutes after every one else’s.
To be honest was expecting more from a potential Michelin star restaurant
Fantastic meal for our 20 year anniversary- really special
Excellent food. Pasta and beef particularly notable. Good wine list with some unusual choices there.
Fantastic meal. 1 x vegetarian and 1 x pescatarian Tasting menu. We added the wine flight which was perfect. Great service from a lovely waiter and the food was delicious.
Great food, very good service, very quiet as only our party in the restaurant. Would recommend without hesitation.
The food is delicious. There is a good choice of food with old favourites like 'Butter Chicken', but with additional new ideas including duck. The choice of vegetables is also good with original ideas. The service was fantastic - nothing was too much trouble and staff were knowledgeable and helpful. Recommended!
This was our fifth visit to the Hawkyns in Amersham. Always outstanding, but if possible since lockdown, last night was even better. Thank you Atul, it was delightful meeting you and we will certainly be returning shortly
Thank you, Margaret
The food was really tasty. Could taste the spices. nothing overpowered the other. Well balanced.
Staff were friendly & so polite.
We really enjoyed our meal
Lovely different Indian food - so nice and imaginative -
After visiting a friend in a care home with dementia it was marvellous to have a lovely meal in a lovely atmosphere.
Very nice authentic Indian Indian food.. great value for money.. my 5 year old very fussy eater gave the food 10/10 .. LOL
Dead flower decoration
No gap between courses
Wrong mains offered
Tiny portions of chutney with poppadoms
Food tasty but expensive
Radio 2 type music didn’t fit
No COVID scan check in
Great experience, service and food was great. Of course, social distancing means the usual buzz and chatter is missing, but that is nobodies fault and it will be much livelier when we get back to normal.
A restaurant I want to experience again and again!
Food was amazing but the service from front of house very poor needs a huge deal of polishing up so so many less covers meds to be fast prompt and attention to the customer needs and be attentive not have to called over to order items oe beverages
Excellent food and very good service. We had the tasting menu with the Wine Flight.
It was not cheap but you do not mind paying for quality.
You cannot fault the food. We both thoroughly enjoyed every course, just like we have in the past at the other two restaurants that we have visited in Marlow. Service was attentive and friendly, just as it should be. I would highly recommend.
Food was good but didn't have the father's day tasting menu as advertised on the website which was disappointing. We were told when we queried it in the restaurant that it was only available for lunch. Also no children's options, again, not clear as on website it had them
We had a lovely evening, had the tasting menu and left with very full tummy’s!
Great for a first couple of visits then you realise there is more value elsewhere also
Absolutely fantastic meal and evening out. Atul came and said hello which truly made the evening special. The tasting menu and wine flight I fully recommend.
Delicious dinner. The home made poppadoms and chutneys were a real treat. Beautiful spicing. Plenty of gluten free and vegetarian options. Highly recommend for a grown up dinner out.
Atul should be ashamed to put his name to this restaurant. A small room, with no ambiance, at the front of a poorly run hotel which did not adhere to covid rules. Waiting staff shared with the hotel restaurant. The tasting menu, one meat and one fish, was no way worth the money charged. The meat samosas, served on both menus, was the most enjoyable part, although it was rock hard and may have been microwaved. We left very disappointed and a birthday treat was ruined.
The staff were very aware we had a birthday celebration and they were extremely attentive. The food was amazing, we enjoyed every bite.
Would highly recommend for a celebration or just a lovely meal out.
Amazing food and service
Food to spicy both courses even though ordered mild dishes. Naan was hard. Could not eat starter and just about ate the main. Limited menu. No ambience at all. Felt like we were sat in a space not normally used as the other parts of restaurant look much nicer. No ambience at all. Poor food defiantly not worth the £300 + we paid. Although they did refund starter. Service was great though from our waiter. Not what you expect from a Michelin star restaurant. Completely overprice from our experience. Most disappointed. Our friends have been to the restaurant in Marlow before and they have said this is not comparable at all to the lovely Marlow Restaurant.
Always wonderful visiting this restaurant. The service the past two visits (recently) was a struggle. Arms dangling in our dinner, lack of attention by the waiter during ordering . Also frustrating when you are told what to eat and battling to explain that isn’t what you want… it was not very relaxing. However, I am certain that all was well meaning if a little frustrating. Food was good. Service too hasty. We won’t visit again for this reason for a while. Also do not forget to log your car details on arrival/ be sure that they have logged them correctly as I am now battling a parking fine that I should not have!
We waited a long time for them to ask us if we wanted drinks but then the food was amazing! had to ask for the fish tasting menu as didn’t bring it with the menus but food was absolutely divine. we also had a wine flight, it was perfect.
