Absolutely amazing! We visited for a special night out while on vacation and had an amazing experience. Presentation was beautiful and taste was amazing. Service top notch. Definitely a must if you find yourself in Punta Mita.
Upon trying to start ordering we mentioned that we wanted to begin with a few appetizers, before even finishing my sentence the waiter rudely stated that “I need to take your order all at once, we have a full house tonight, it will be faster that way.” Note, we made this reservation three days in advance.
Although, we were trying to order our appetizers and entrees at the same time the waiter than rushed off. At this point in time there were only three tables occupied (including our own) in the entire restaurant.
The pasta was okay (it was stuck together) and the service (after being rushed) was not attentive at all.
Compared to every other restaurant in Punta Mita, where I’ve never been rushed, this was by far the worst dining experience and the worst value.
Great food, lovely ambience and wonderful service. Hector himself stopped by the table several times to check in and see how we were enjoying our meal. I definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone staying in the Punta Mita area.
We happened to arrive as a wine tasting was concluding and were welcomed to try varietals from the US, Europe and Mexico. Then had a fantastic dinner. The appetizers are great to be shared. Our favorites were the local prawns and the octopus taco. The Red Lobster entree was outstanding
What a wonderful dinner. Hector worked at the four seasons for 8 years before opening his own place. The service was outstanding and the food was delicious. I highly recommend hector’s. I wish we were here longer so I could go back.

Great new restaurant on the row in Punta Mita. Hector himself came to our table and constructed a personalized tasting menu. It had all the elements of the region, fresh octopus and yellowtail tuna along with spices of Mexico. Juan Carlos our server was very good at explaining each dish, we had about 9 separate dishes that we shared and all were outstanding. I was in Punta Mita 4 years ago and the expansion of this restaurant is so rewarding.
We dined here on our last night in Punta Mita and our only regret was we hadn't dined here earlier in our trip. Then we'd have been able to eat at Hector's a second time. Delicious ! Truly innovative while not trying too hard like several other restaurants we'd eaten at here. Not going to recommend anything because I'm sure it is all very good. Nice wine list, good local beers, and a full bar. Hector knows his stuff.
We have dined at Hector's a few times since he opened here in Punta Mita. We like to share plates and every dish has been creative, delicious and beautifully presented.
This time we were so happy with our meal that as we were leaving we gave the open kitchen a standing ovation - excellent work!
While pricing is not inexpensive, it is great value for a world class dining experience.
My words won’t do this place justice!! This was by far, the BEST restaurant I have ever eaten at. EVER. This flavors were so wonderfully curated and everything was so fresh and well executed. My friend and I shared the beet salad, beet and hummus, sweet potato truffle tortellini. We both had the polenta and wild mushroom entree. Everything was so divine, I would highly recommend all the above items. Not to mention the drinks were crazy good and so thoughtfully mixed. Our fantastic waiter even made us a speciality of his own creation to start (mezcal, beer, lemon, passion fruit). I would also recommend the Mita splash!!!! The service was so so so so amazing. This restaurant should be world famous. I have tried the most notable restaurants in San Francisco, Los Angeles (West Hollywood), Portland, nyc. Nothing compares or is in the same league as hectors kitchen in my opinion.
Very good food almost excellent. Not ventilation in kitchen so you smell everything being cooked. Add to it kitchen is understaffed and with half full resteraunt we waited 1hr 20 min for food. Will give 1 more try Octopus was great. 3fin sea bass over cooked.
After eating here once, we ended up coming back with our whole family the next night. The food here is high end, and well executed, comparable to any top restaurants in major cities. It was an awesome surprise to find such a great place in Punta Mita. We will come back here multiple times when we are back next.
Hector’s Kitchen was great! The food was so good and unique. The short rib spring rolls with the red curry sauce were fantastic! The pork belly confit was cooked perfectly, the best I have eaten! We loved taking to Roberto, our server. This place is highly recommended.

Prices were on the expensive side, which would be fine except for the fact the quality of the food preparation was only average. The size of the foie gras appetizer was ridiculously small, consisting of maybe two very small bites for 350 pesos. Also, our waiter took care of tables all over the restaurant instead of working in a specific area, and he rarely looked at our table while working the tables that were far away from us. At one point we had to start waving our arms to get his attention. This is not the type of dining experience I would expect from a restaurant with a large kitchen staff, lots of waiters and high prices.

Our family really enjoyed our dinner at Hector’s Kitchen. We were very impressed with the staff. Hector, himself, came out to thank us for coming.
From our amuse bouche to dessert, all of our plates were delicious and well seasoned. The crispy octopus, ahi tartare and fois gras apps were stand outs.
The pork belly confit entree was fantastic. Perfectly prepared with a mole that was extremely flavorful. Three fish of the day options were offered. The local red snapper was plated with braised fennel and roasted cherry tomatoes. Every bite was enjoyable.
Don’t miss desserts were the chocolate mousse which was encased in a firm chocolate casing. A combination of mouse and raspberry sung with each bite. Additionally, the creamy guava compote was very tasty and paired uniquely with a milk carmel ice cream that was silky.
