Overall disappointing experience. If I were Gordon Ramsay, I wouldn’t attach my name to this establishment. There was nothing excellent or memorable. I would only suggest coming here for cocktails as the food lacked depth and flavor. Most disappointing was that my colleague said the fish and chips lacked any flavor, and she left hungry. The chips were big and crunchy, but didn’t make me want to go back for more. A little seasoning or salt goes a long way. It was the first time in a while that I left food on a plate. Spend your money elsewhere.
I am a huge fan of Ramsey’s Maze restaurants and this has a similar menu. However, the food was shockingly poor and the service wasn’t much better. I will not be going back.
Main course was very disappointing for a Ramsay restaurant. Trout and beetroot starter was great as was the apple crumble. The fish with pak choi was way too sweet which spoilt the dish. A friend had the fish and chips and the chips were too fat.
Disappointed with Gordon Ramsay’s restaurant. Everything was too salty. Customer service was just adequate.
£180 for 3 seemed a lot for fish and chips and ice cream all round, with a bottle of wine to share. Food was ok, but fish and chunky chips was all a bit dry
Good service from friendly staff. Set menu choices limited but we all managed to find something to suit us.
Arrived early so had cocktails in the bar area. The cocktails were excellent. Then after we were shown to our table which was nice , just it was very poor lighting in the whole restaurant so difficult to actually read the menu . Extensive wine list which was nice and the food was well presented and tasted delicious. I would definitely go back again and would recommend it to my friends and family.
Good staff very attentive and professional. Good choice of for plain food menu would be good to see so,e spicy dishes. I had the curry it was tasty but no kick.
Fantastic family meal. Restaurant is great for kids - with a great kids menu, good colouring box & staff who really understood what makes a good child-friendly meal. Waiter was excellent with the adults & kids alike.
Only criticism I have is that whenever our server came over we never knew when he’d come back around again. It was not busy, nor was he. He took so long in between visits that what should’ve taken us 1-1.5 hours took 2.5. Other than that everything was great.
Good January deal overall. Although they're being a bit cheeky with cost of sides...which are not needed.
Unsure why they seated us upstairs during a quiet Thurs evening, atmosphere seemed much better downstairs and felt like it was as a result of taking the deal.
It's generally a nice destination and food is good (not great).
We had the special menu for two, which was I credible value at £15 each. We also had the similarly incredible value carafe of wine for £7.50. Clearly the regular al a carte prices are somewhat higher. I liked the restaurant. It was roomy and we were never hurried or felt pressurised to release the table. The food was all pretty good, although I had one niggle over the chicken wings because just one wasn’t coked all through. It was pink near the bone so I didn’t eat it. The others were fine. My pasta was fine but didn’t have any distintive taste. I wish I’d had my friends duck confit which looked great. All in all though I’d definitely visit again.
Food was generally good, although we had the Love January deal and wouldn’t pay full price. Fish and chips on the a la carte menu was expensive, but excellent for the portion size - very filling. Burgers were probably a bit too salty for our tastes but were good and again, the big portion made it better value.
Catered well for vegans, with a full vegan menu that does not just consist of vegetables and salad. The pumpkin rigatoni was nice however not quite hot in temperature enough. I was confused and slightly amused too when I enquired about whether the dish had a sauce and the waitress tried to explain to me what a pumpkin was.
Good food but unfortunately will not be returning to the restaurant as we felt the service was poor - the waitresses were standoffish, brusque, and not particularly attentive - we wanted to ask questions about the food but were made to feel bad for asking, intimidated and fearful of what their response may be.
Diners be aware of the ice cream bar experience we had! £6.50 gets you 1 scoop, 2 scoops, or 3 scoops regardless of how many flavours you ask for (ask for 1 flavour, get 1 scoop for £6.50. Ask for 2 flavours, get 2 scoops for £6.50. - same goes for toppings.) They do not tell you that you can actually have 3 scoops and 3 toppings, you will have to ask (if you are brave enough). The look on the waitress’ face when we ordered one extra scoop after finding out this fact!
Gordon Ramsey, if you can’t get the basics right at this restaurant, it makes it hard to convince me to go to the other ones. Food was right but the attitude and atmosphere was wrong.
Food good but quite spendy for what one is getting.
Great food. Great service. I underrated from 5* rating (service) as there was a change of shift (waiters) and the service level dropped terribly
Personale molto gentile , ma il rapporto qualità prezzo lascia a desiderare : troppo caro !
A lovely New Year’s day lunch with my family🎉🥂🥳
Having dined at Petrus (Chefs table experience) and Maze Grill, this visit to Heddon Street did not disappoint. Overall was very good! The only reason we scored the food a 4 was because the bread base in the starter (Mushroom & Blue cheese), was pretty tough. The rest of the meal was a 5 star (we had 3 courses). The service was actually very good but our bill needed to be corrected a couple of times, hence a 4 star rating for that. Also a charitable donation was added which one then feels obliged to pay even though I’m sure they would have happily removed but I’m sure no one would want to do that. Great ambience and we would definitely recommend. Plus we are HUGE Gordon fans! The F word is brilliant. We love it, and Gordon is sooooo cool!
great place to meet up with friends and have lunch. Value for money. Food was good and service was professional and attentive. Definately visit again.
Really quick seating, nice service and the menu was varied so there was a lot of choice. Food came really hot which was lovely, and promptly too. Best bit was when asking for the bill that also came quickly - one of my restaurant pet peeves when they takes ages and you’re in a rush!
The food was overpriced for what it was - we had two courses: the celeriac soup starter had no flavour and was odd with strips of duck confit and chestnut, and the sea bass main was delicious but overpriced alongside the soup starter. Disappointing. Service was generally good, except for the young lady at the front desk who did not seem happy at all.
Unfortunately our Christmas dinner was lack luster to say the least. Being a Chef Ramsey restaurant, I expected the best in every shape and form but sorry to say I was let down in every way. I myself work in the service industry and was pretty bummed out. Seems like the staff really did not want to be there. I understand not wanting to work on Xmas but this was bad. From being told we had to leave by 9pm the Minute we walked in or having to literally tackle someone to get in a wine order. The staff was really off. This was a real debacle! Oh and all for $400 bucks!! Sorry chef but a bad night for us...... boooo..
All in all I blame management, they were not visible at all!!
The service itself was fine, I appreciate the waiters efforts, but the food was just utterly awful: bland, poorly cooked at times and just overall bad. This is honestly one of the worst actual meals I’ve had and at the same time a more expensive meal at 150 pounds all in. Just a terrible meal.
It was crazy expensive for a turkey dinner
Christmas Ève with Children.
Nice ice cream bar for kids expérience
Succulent duck leg
The food was delicious but I was disappointed with the Tuna. It was so spicy even though the waitress told us it was not very spicy.
The service was good but it was missing some recommendations and knowledge about the food.
I used to love this place. But my last 2 visits have been ruined by one particular memeber of staff. Who seems to pride herself in being rude and unfriendly. I did complain about her in the summer, but never heard anything back. She’s the only reason I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant.
Starters were great (chicken wings and wagyu beef meatballs). However, pork belly main distinctly average
Great experience, fantastic food and wonderful service. Will definitely return.
The food was very good however the place needs a make over as it seems somewhat dated . Staff was very friendly but getting attention from staff was issue
This was our third visit at Christmas, and our girls really wanted to come back. It’s a great upmarket family friendly restaurant. Great food, fantastic service and lovely atmosphere. The menu is well balanced, cocktails and wine list extensive, and a good menu for kids - especially the ice-cream bar! We got a lovely treat as it was our 3rd Christmas visit, which was a nice touch. We’ll definitely be going back again!
Service was terrible. No welcome or goodbye from the hosts. Waitress who ironically had “be happy” tattooed on her arm was far from that, possibly the rudest service I’ve ever had in a restaurant. And the generic £20 service charge. Couldn’t see any festive cheer here!!!!
Good children’s menu which was loved by our little ones!
The waiter was amazing at explaining how the ice cream station worked which sent our children into ice cream heaven! Such a great idea!
A group of girls went for the Saturday Brunch and we couldn't have had a nicer time. The staff were amazing and made us feel very relaxed. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
We enjoyed the truffle, portobello mushroom and blue cheese flatbread starter, the sea bass and sticky toffee pudding. Burger and pineapple capaccio got the thumbs up too.Nice place with a good buzz.
Premium venue / Brand , appreciate it was the swing shift at 5pm during Christmas works do’s , but for a celebrity chef brand , the food was not that special and the service was sooooooo sloooooow ! Been and done it now !
Disappointed as not good value for money. Paying an unnecessary premium for the Ramsay brand, which was deserved in this occasion.
Prosecco lunch menu offering very tiny food portions only. Much better options out there for bottomless brunch!
A lovely atmosphere great food. Would definitely recommend.
