Possibly the most average dining experience of my life.
Superb!!!! Amazing venue at the top of the Gherkin. The food was superb as was the service. Such an enjoyable evening and will certainly return. Thank you
We loved the lighting and general ambience, this is definitely a place we want to visit again once lockdown is over. As for the food, it was equal parts delicious and inventive. A great place for a couples date.
Expectation of a restaurant at the top of the Gherkin was very high and this place disappointed. Staff service was was normal, food was great, location and view was 5 star, however the interior design was definitely not 5 star.
The area felt very sparce, there was no real ambience and the decor look very dated.
Would recommend to a friend only for the view.
nice food. The views were amazing. Not what I expected tho
Amazing view, nice service and good ambience. But the food is not very good though the price is not very high.
We went to Helix and opted for the set lunch which was excellent, if a little limited in terms of the options available. The views over London were as impressive as the food and service. Overall a truly memorable lunch.
A great venue - fascinating building with amazing views. Food was good, wine choice great and lovely service.
It was my cousins 50th birthday
We ate here at lunchtime on the set menu offer. The choice of food was adequate and they dealt with my dietry requirement very well. Surprisingly they don't do Prosecco by the glass (only Champagne) which I thought was unusual for this level of establishment but the wine which came included within the set menu was lovely so not an issue. We were not rushed throughout the meal which made for a very pleasant lunch and I would certainly recommend and go again.
It is a stunning location and great to be able to take advantage of set menu. Service was nice all food lovely except pear dessert was a bit dissapointing a bit dry.it was just the tonic for a Monday night catching up with my friend
Had an amazing night, food was unbelievable good! Drinks were served super quickly. All staff were very helpful and friendly.
Amazing views from the restaurant and the bar. Food really nice
Not bad. Really nice view
The food was much better than before, we had a lovely and polite as well as attentive waiter.
The background music was Not too loud so we could talk. Overall we had a really nice time.
Highly recommended
The first obvious point to make is that the view from the top of the gherkin comes at a premium. The food menu was short and less varied/exciting than I would have expected. Portions were adequate; food was well cooked and nicely presented. Wine list was both extensive and expensive - very little choice under £80 a bottle. In summary, an enjoyable meal but I’ve paid less (bill was £270 for two) for better food in establishments closer to street level.
Increíble lugar para amantes de la arquitectura; El bar es accesible sin reservación
went for lunch on a friday. Restaurant half empty but even so had to chase up the staff for our glasses to be topped up. Food very disappointing. Crab lacked taste and the sirloin was tough.
Great food & view!!!
Had a best experience thanks
Fantastic venue with great service and delicious food. Lovely for a special occasion.
Steak could be better but staff very really excellent. Starter was really good.
it was a special celebration and the restaurant did tick all the right boxes
Lovely location, views and overall dining experience. Definitely go to the bar before/after - excellent drinks in a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere.
Good food, lovely views. Ideal lunch spot in the city.
If you want to see the view, got to Helix bar. If want a meal, there 100 places in London that will give you a better food selection and quality for a lot less money. Honestly, if the food were 1/2 the price, I still would have found it boring and bland....but that view was killer and the architecture of the building is majestic.
Got there to be told they restaurant was closed due to a private Google event and we couldn’t eat. It turned out that had tried to contact me 6 hours previously to let me know the situation, however they could not get through due to my work schedule. Considering the meal was booked and then confirmed via phone 12 day previous I find it ridiculous that they couldn’t contact me any of the days prior, rather than the day of the booking. To make matters worse the meal was for a birthday dinner. To their credit they offered us seats in the bar on the top floor and a free glass of champagne but the entire evening was still a major letdown. :( the scores given reflect this.
Amazing restaurant & amazing service. With an incredible view
Bit noisy but perfect
For a go to venue the food was very good. Staff were very obliging and helpful. The view was stunning and security was good enough not to be a pain in the derrière.
The chips ordered were forgotten &, when this was pointed out, staff were uninterested. The crackling on the belly pork was not crisp. When I arrived it was not pointed out they did not have the name of my guest, so she had problems getting in. We asked to go to the bar after lunch & staff did not tell us it was close. Just making a complaint about all this.
The view is amazing. The service is terrible.
It is worth it to go at least once, but only for the view and experience of being on top floor of the Guerkin
food average, location great, staff OK. I think that the shard is better, shame.
Great view and ambience.
Would recommend Iris for drink rather than Helix for dinner.
Our medium rare steak for £89 turned out to be well done.
Salmon good but not exceptional.
Value for money average: £190 for two with one cocktail each.
Overall this was a pleasant experience for the ambiance, service and views, but seemed like this was possibly off-site food prep delivered on-site as the quality of the food was not good. I'd certainly recommend for a drink before going to a nicer food experience elsewhere but close-by.
On the plus side the service is very good and the views are quite spectacular.
Booked in for the £45/person set menu dinner for a special anniversary dinner. Disappointed with the limited menu choice (3 for each course), scattered & frenetic service from varying servers, and an un cooked berry crumble dessert, which the manager insisted was the proper way that they served it. Would not return.
Had a fabulous lunch at The Helix, can't wait to go back.
First impression is the loud chatter noise as in a school canteen, interior is nothing special, we were lucky to have a table direct by the windows and in the middle which was great as the view is breathtaking and is by far the very best of this restaurant, service is also good, food is average - some dishes were very good other quite ordinary. The bar upstairs we liked much better as you can enjoy the music without the chatter noise a d the view is even better. They are not strict on dress code, there were guys in t-shirts.
Fabulous venue - right at the top of he Gherkin. Amazing views. Food was lovely. Service nicely pitched - formal but friendly. Had a set menu which made it more affordable than the a la carte.
Food very average not adequate with the beautiful scenery. If you like to go here I will suggest just a booking at the bar as the view is stunning and service is good. But do not book restaurant as a experienced foodie compared with other places the food is very basic for the price
