Great experience in an iconic location. Only one small niggle Opentable should give greater prominence to the fact that you need to let the Gherkin know the names of your party and that you all need to have ID. Only spotted it in the small print about 4 hours before we went. Great night though.
Wonderful experience to be in such an iconic building with 360 spectacular views.
Great welcome and service. Just a little underwhelmed with the food. We had brunch . I thought it wasn’t very special looking. My partner had steak which was very good. I had the fish cake. Ginger ice cream gorgeous but just served plain three scoops in a dish.
Excellent service and superb views. I highly enjoyable experience. Fully recommended
What a place to have lunch. From the moment you walk in and see the view. Waiters and all the staff friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much bother for any one. Quiet expensive but the food was fantastic. Thank you Mrs G for a really great Christmas present. 10/10
We found the service to be very slow especially with the drinks. The cod was much too salty even for someone who likes a lot of salt on their food it was unpleasant. The building is very nice but the restaurant is not as good as the prices demand. We will not be visiting again.
Beautiful venue, great food, staff were lovely only complaint was when the restaurant was full service was s bit too slow
Good service here, we went for the set menu which was well presented in tasty but very very small portions which took a little of the shine off. Wines were good and service was friendly and efficient, my favourite was the Hake main. Overall if they were a little more generous with at least their mains then they would generate more loyalty, possibly better as a light lunch experience than an evening meal.
very little food choice, expensive. olish overall but would return
Went to Helix for a special birthday dinner, to be sat down to our table 20 minutes late, after being instructed to wait in the IRIS bar and a member of staff would come and get us. We had to constantly chase bar staff to ensure we were not forgotten.
We were then seated at a table, dinner menu only put in front of us. Despite asking for a drinks menu, we sat through our entire meal with just one bottle of water.
Starters arrived promptly, but we then waited an hour for our Chateaubriand to arrive. It was fatty and tough, even though it was cooked medium-rare. Chips were soggy and our accompanying vegetables we ordered arrived after we'd almost finished our meal.
At no point during dinner did we manage to get the attention of staff for drinks, a dessert menu or even asked how our meal was. There was no eye contact made with staff, they'd simply place meals on table and run before they could be asked anything.
We were sat near the till and kitchen area where we were privy to many disgruntled and angry discussions between waiter staff and the restaurant manager with conversations held in public, loudly and in English and French. Again, causing unnecessary attention to an already awful situation. How is this professional in an establishment of this kind?
What was meant to be a wonderful, stress free evening turned into an agitated, below par service with lacklustre food.
The view was beautiful obviously. However the food was just OK... The servers were nice but the flow of the service seemed a bit disorganized.
Fantastic place to sit and watch over London! We had the fixed price menu - the starter (beets) and the main (hake) were really tasty and beautifully presented, let down slightly by the pudding (pavlova), which was decidedly average. We moved upstairs to the bar to finish our drinks and to soak up the views. Lovely staff. Recommended.
Fantastic service, view, experience. Generous feeling of happiness there. Loved it!
Nice view of London skyscrapers, relatively quiet. Good choice if you want to discuss. Great food.
Excellent service, set menu very good value
A truly impressive experience, very well organised. The staff were professional and friendly.
Service was fantastic, with a window seat being offered when one became available.
Food was fantastic, we could have eaten it all over again.
Thank you for such a great night.
Wonderful Experience from arrival to departure Wonderful food, stunning views & really friendly staff
Outstanding location wonderful food great service no complaints!
Lovely view and food. The service personnel were attentive and knew the menus really well.
Always a stunning location. Staff very attentive and friendly/professional.
Your paying for the views which are fantastic. Food is good but expensive and for similar price could get outstanding meal elsewhere. Service was average, we had planned few hours but service seemed too quick, no aperitif offered straight in, cheese not an option after desert etc.. but good for business meal if you want to be done in 1.5 hrs.
Lovely view and experience, the food just a little bit under seasoned
It was an amazing experience. 100% I will repeat it
Making the reservation and subsequent amendments was very easy and the front-of-house were exceptionally pleasant.
The view from the restaurant and the bar is incredible, there is the sensation of being in a sci-fi or dystopian movie surrounded by other skyscrapers and the City Skyline while also looking down to Tower Bridge and the riverbank.
My guests shared the Chateaubriand and proclaimed it "divine", the smoked salmon starter and vichy carrots were also excellent. Desserts were a bit too sweet (we had all) however the complimentary chocolates were delicious.
We had a corner table which was relatively private and suited our needs, however service was patchy due to some larger, nmore central tables. Overall we hada thoroughly enjoyable evening.
sidenote - would benefit from more or larger bathrooms.
Beautiful venue, quality food with excellent service. The Jerusalem artichoke soup was amazing to start and the egg in the center was a superb touch. The Cornish cod fillet as a main meal was excellent. My fiancee had the smoked salmon starter and superbDevon-coast stone bass for her main. the added touch of an anniversary surprise was also a great touch and capped a truly special evening.
Awesome setting and views. Booked for 9pm but our table wasn’t ready for over 20 mins. Went to the bar on the top floor whilst we waited. Amazing views but drinks were very overpriced for what they were - but You know you’re really paying for the views. Food was good when our table was eventually ready. Service was ok, if a little amateur. Great restaurant for special occasions but won’t be in a hurry to go back - much better food and value for money elsewhere.
I was at first very disappointed with the table we were given which was under several spot lights and right by the entrance with no view. However when I asked if we could move they found us a table right by the views which was beautiful. I appr crate they want to set as many people as possible but given a large reason why you visit this restaurant is the ambience and views you would expect every guest to feel comfortable.
The food was amazing as were the wines selected to accompany the6 course tasting menu we had. One other very small niggle is we were asked if we wanted water 5 times before we actually got any and asked if we would like more bread but never received it, however these a really very small points and didn’t spoil what was a very special evening.
Great atmosphere, Great Waiters, View was amazing!
From entering the building to leaving the whole process was handled very well, the food was delicious and our waitress made sure everything was good, the view was amazing and could see all the city lights despite newer developments but this didn’t block the overall view. After the meal we went to the top floor which is the bar and had a bottle of rosé, again the view was amazing and was very clear you could see the tower bridge etc.
Also the overall ambiance was brilliant and I would recommend this to any of my family and friends not to mention it is very affordable! I will definitely go again in the future with my partner who also really enjoyed it.
Staff incredibly welcoming and accommodating. Although we had booked initially for the valentines lunch set menu we quickly changed our mind and chose the a la carte and so glad we did. The chateabriand was amazing and the waiter helped us choose a fantastic red wine to pare with it. After our meal we were invited to go upstairs to the iris bar and sampled some gorgeous cocktails. I will definitely be booking to visit again soon, I’d like to see the view again - only at dusk this time
A beautiful space with stunning panoramas of the city;although sadly slowly being blocked by all the other new buildings going up but that’s the city.
We arrived prior to our lunch booking and went up to the bar . You’re immediately wowed by the 360 view. Layout is good as everybody gets a window seat .Our server was friendly and polite and gave us enough time to settle and choose a drink before returning to take our order. We had a choc o clock cocktail each .Palatable, sweet and comes with a little chocolate truffle cutely attached to the glass in a leaf . Maybe abit more alcohol could’ve pushed it to gorgeous but it was good .
We then made our way down to the restaurant on the level below. We had the place to ourselves for most of the lunch as it was a Wednesday but we kind of liked that, as it felt like private dining and the waiting staff were always available. I did make an enquiry regarding the searcy’s 1847 club card ( I bought one last year) the server said she would check if or what discount I would get . Sadly that wasn’t forthcoming and wasn’t mentioned again , so not sure what the point of the card is??
We were dining a la carte as it was a valentine’s lunch. The choices were good and varied ( meat , fish or vegetable dishes) some people might find the prices eye watering but compared to Michelin dining , it was acceptable. Good selection of wines and champagne , again reasonable pricing. We finished with rum baba which was lovely and came with a small pot of rum to pour over yourself.
We left feeling comfortably full and unhurried ( this might be different on a busy lunch service)
The only gripe I had was the seating . Chairs were more like something in a workplace lunch room . Hard backed and seated ( not even a cushion pad!) Certainly not comfortable for an hour and a half lunch . Also table cloths would be nice . Little touches like that go along way .
Will probably visit again at some stage but probably just the bar .
Truly magnificent. A great day out with my wife for our wedding anniversary. beautiful view and excellent food.
For the price, there are other restaurants in other towers that offer better views and better food.
All staff in the building were welcoming and friendly. Food served quickly. Fabulous views and unique restaurant setting. looking forward to coming again for a return visit!
The restaurant was amazing and the general feel was perfect. The food was cooked to perfection. The staff were attentive and the desert birthday dish was a great touch which was unexpected.
The only tarnishing fact was that a bottle of water was a tad extortionate. But in the grand scheme of things this was a small thing.
Again a great dinning experience and the wine was gorgeous Italian choice.
Probably one of the best meals I've had in months! Service and staff were fantastic and even though it was a rainy, blustery day, it was still a lovely view.
What was weird was the furnishings. The tables and chairs were hard and cold and not at all welcoming. They seem like they'd be more at home in a snack shop or hospital cafeteria.
Would definitely go back though. Great food! Great cocktails. Great service. Great view!
Wonderful evening at the Gherkin - would recommend.
A great dining experience with excellent views over London and ideal for a special occasion for couples.
Loved the Sunday brunch on the 3rd feb with my hubby, son and daughter in law. It felt special and the view was amazing just as I’d hoped it would be. Service impeccable and friendly. One tiny downside is that you’re not offered tea or coffee in the package and I think that would make the experience 100%
We were offered a hot drink upstairs in the bar which we did and was also great but added another £17 for three coffees and a tea to our already £180 bill.
A friend and I came for brunch and left in the late afternoon! It was relaxed, excellent brunch menu, very attentive service, and brilliant setting with great views. I'll be back!
